Thanks for doing your hair Kristen, it looks good!
The only issue with the NM movie (for me) is that the love story in Twilight the movie was so weak that all the supposed pain and depression that Bella will experience in NM will seem unnecessary. I really did not feel a strong love connection between Bella and Edward in the movie. Weitz has his work cut out for him, but I am hopeful that he can make it believable.
I totally agree with you Rachel A. In Twilight they do not look like they are in love or anything. So New Moon is a huge challenge for Weitz. I hope he does make it good.
Which i think he is because no offense to other GOOD female film directors but guys usually always do better than females. I’m sorry but that is my opinion.
I disagree with both of you. If you read the book you would have gotin more out of the movie. That is if you did read the book. Then you would understand why she gets so upset. Other then that you shouldnt juge a book by the cover.
Great job Kristen. Your interviewing is getting better. You seem more comfortable.
I think the love was present in the movie. I am hopeful Chris Weitz will be able to quickly show the intense love between Edward and Bella before she is devastated.
That’s so funny – I love the books, but am somewhat bored by Bella and Edward’s relationship in all of them. I thought the development was so stagnant…but their chemistry is HOT in the movie!
I see both points though…funny how we all see it differently!
Ah seriously peggasiss? A movie adaptation is supposed to be a FULL one, ya most people who saw the movie read the book, but it is the directors job to present the story line through the actors. Catherine Hardwicke did a terrible job, she though o all the people watching this have read the book so i don’t need to include the parts were they fall in love (cute parts) we can just focuss on the “vampire asspect” check the dvd it exactly what she says. Even though the majority of the fan base of this movie has read the book, they still needed to include the part that made us fall in love with the book in the first place. Now when weitz goes to direct new moon he doesn’t have any previous emotions on the characters parts to work with. An MOST important the crowd ( people who haven’t read the book) is going to be ” why is bella so depressed? i didn’t know that there love was strong” weitz is going to have to make up for a lot of mistakes that were made in the first movie, i hope he can live up to the expectations. One thing that the movie directors and producers need to remember is…
WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK FOR A REASON,BELLA AND EDWARDS RELATIONSHIP WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, NOT THE FACT THAT HE WAS A VAMPIRE AND WEREWOLVES EXIST.
So in other words judging a book by its cover has nothing to do with it. It has to do with the people making the movie actually reading the book, understanding the motives of the characters, and listening to the fans ( afterall who knows the books better).
an as for kristen stewart she did an okay job in twilight, but she needs to stop grasping after every word, like she was in twilight, it got really annoying especailly when she was interacting with pattinson. It came across as ” why are you bothering me with this.” An Bella and edwards conversations were what made the books, so they should step up to the plate.
There was chemistry between Rob and Kristen in the movie,but I thought that it wasn’t intense enough.Please don’t misunderstand me,that’s just how it seemed to me.
All I wish is that everyone gives their best shot in New Moon and to see more intensity in Rob and Kristen’s chemistry and also in Taylor and Kristen’s.
@Peggasiss3
So you’re saying the only way to appreciate Twilight the movie was to read the book? If that’s the case then the movie failed to do it’s job. Do you know how many book-to-movie adaptations there are? Have you read all those books in order to enjoy the movie? You shouldn’t have to. As long as the movie captures the essence of the book then the movie did it’s job, Twilight didn’t.
@Rachel A. & Twilight5925
I agree with you both. And don’t forget the other relationship(s) that Hardwicke left out. Am I really supposed to believe that Alice and Bella are best friends? That wasn’t shown at all. Chris really does have his work cut out for him, but I’m sure he’ll do an amazing job.
There are only 3 scenes in the movie where you really ‘feel the love’ between the characters:-
one: *After* the kiss, when they talk, she falls a sleep on him, and he goes to touch her cheek and you can see the confusion about how to be close to her (love that scene – it’s my favourite in the film)
two: When she’s in hospital, and he gives her that gentle kiss on her forehead when she wakes up.
three: The prom scene, when they are dancing – which is the highlight of the whole film.
I can’t say I’ve ever understood why the character of Bella loves the character of Edward anyway, while I’ve always understood her appeal for him. There’s nothing there that shows the progress of their relationship from dating to love – it’s like, all of the sudden, we’re in LOVE. Total love. We don’t know each other at all, but we’re in LOVE. Blah.
Even in the Twilight book – Edward’s horribly rude to her, he never explains himself, he’s arrogant, he’s over protective – ‘do you suffer from multiple personality disorder’ – that alone should have made the poor girl do a runner.
Rob has it right in the commentary – ‘they’d all hate me, with my customised peacoat’ or whatever it is that he says.
Kim…I have to agree with you. I am not a huge KS fan, but she actually had coherent and complete statements. It was a good interview and she really seems to get the movie and character.
Kristen did a great job in the interview! She is more comfortable, although this time she wasn’t being asked ridiculous questions. The interviewer actually wanted to know what Kristen thought. While I loved the books, the movie concentrated too much on the action. The love story really didn’t develop as it should have. Catherine needed to focus on the intensity of their love just a bit more. Movies never compare to books though.
I love New Moon news as much as the next but I feel bad that in every interview where Kristen’s asked questions about it, there’s a poster for Adventureland.
Really hope the interviewer had the decency to ask her questions about her other projects and her costar wasn’t cut out of the focus like so many of the other videos.
She’s awesome, and it seems like she understands the story, in an earlier, she’d said that she’d only read the first book because she wanted to focus on that, and it certainly seems as though she’s read the second and found the essence of the story.
Kristen still cannot complete a sentence without trying to change her words around, but I see a little improvement.
I don’t think that Twilight was all that bad. I mean given that they only have a certain amount of time to film and they have to condense it all into two hours is tough. Plus they didn’t even have that much money to work with because it wasn’t a big film in the beginning. New Moon will probably be better because they now have way more money to spend on the film. The only bad thing that the production crew has to deal with when filming New Moon now is the constant disruptions from fans and the media. We cannot say that New Moon will be better because we haven’t seen it yet. Once its released then we can compare the two movies.
@Tori
I completely missed your comment before I posted because I agree with everything you wrote. You basically got across, in a longer version, everything I was trying to say.
Haha its okay i tend to say a lot about things that i care about, all i hope is that they try really hard in new moon to make up someone the ground they lost with the production of twilight.
@Natalie (Re: Edward & Bella’s Love for Each Other)
I know alot of fans have mixed feelings about this but…I think you should go to Stephenie Meyer’s website and read the 12 chptrs of Midnight Sun. In Twilight, we see the story from Bella’s POV and how SHE falls in love with Edward. Midnight Sun is so wonderful b/c we see how EDWARD’S love for Bella forms and what he deals with by loving her. It gives you such insight into Edward’s world and his existence before Bella showed up to school that day. Again, alot of fans are torn over whether or not to read the 12 chapters…but, after reading Breaking Dawn and being DESPERATE for more, I finally gave in and read it and I’VE NEVER REGRETTED IT! IT’S WONDERFUL!!!
goodness! reading this New Moon was amazing and tough because I was kinda going through what Bella was going through. I still haven’t pushed past it haha :/ So, new movie?? No offense to ROBERT PATTINSON, but I’m sure that the Edward Cullen of every girls dream was OLIVER GOODWILL!!! Seriously, give him dirty bronze hair and some honey colored contacts and you’ve got THE Edward Cullen. a TRILLION times hotter than Robert… I wish i could post a picture of him in here, but i cant. So if you didn’t get his name it OLIVER GOODWILL, you can find him in the CALL ME WHEN YOU’RE SOBER video by EVANESCENCE!! CHECK HIM OUT!!
Vanessa… I have read Midnight Sun…it’s on the official website, so I don’t have a problem reading anything from there…it’s a shame that it happened that way, though…!!
Even in Midnight Sun, though… it doesn’t seem clear (to me) whether he fell in love with *Bella*, or Alice’s vision of *Bella*…hopefully the complete manuscript would clear that up??!
I think that everyone who is questioning the love of the two from the movie should try to think about the fact that they are teenagers! it’s not in the beginning an unconditional love like that of a husband or a child. In the beginning of the new moon book, Edward says to Bella “Last spring when you were nearly killed”…”of course I was trying to focus on finding you alive, but part of my mind was making contingency plans”…and goes on to “Well, I wasn’t going to live without you”. Anyways point being that several times in Twilight he made points of her being his reason for existing and that he had waited so long for her. I think you have to look beyond the words spoken and written to their meanings. People use the term I love you way to loosely now a days. I think that if you follow all the books and the movies you will understand the love between the two characters. I also think that if someone were to watch new moon(being that it is a sequel) without watching twilight and not understanding the relationship..well, guess they should’ve watched the first movie. I mean there are many movies that are sequels where if you didn’t see the first you will not understand how the characters got to the place they are in. I mean fast and furious 2, um ok some guy used to be a cop and now he’s not blah, blah, blah, maybe they wouldn’t get it but if they had went with the order of the movies they will pick up on it quicker. I don’t know just rambling I thought the movie was great, books were better but it is a novel being squeezed into 90 minutes!
Thanks for doing your hair Kristen, it looks good!

I *heart* Kristen and I’m so excited to see NM – it’s my fav of all the books – I can’t wait for the heart-ache, I think she’ll kick ass at it!
