Catherine Hardwicke On Hollywood

Catherine Hardwicke talked to Austin 360 about life in Hollywood. Catherine will be inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame on March 12th receiving the prestigious Ann Richards award. The award is named after the tough-talking, never-say-die former Texas governor.

Here’s part of the interview:

What are your thoughts on coming down to your home state to receive the Ann Richards Award?

My dad was a cotton farmer and my mom a schoolteacher. This honor and my whole career are way beyond dreams I ever had growing up. It’s beautiful and unbelievable on so many levels. … I get a lot of cool letters from kids and people in small towns in Texas and the Valley, and they say, “You’ve inspired me to be a director.” And that’s really cool.”

she’s an interesting person; I’d love to meet her and even though I personally don’t want to become a director(they scare me!), I think she did a great job on twilight. She must have because here we are still talking about her and she’s not doing NM!
