Well sort of…Randy compared Adam Lambert to Robert Pattinson of Twilight at about the 4:40 mark in the video below. Then Ryan followed up repeating what Randy said, and Adam mentioned being a fan of the books. So being AI fans ourselves this was our reaction:
Alphie: “I KNOW! I just about died!!!!! I said – two years ago, NO ONE knew what Twilight was. Now freaking Randy Jackson is talking about it on AI. How did that happen????”
Be My Escape: “I feel like the media in general feels the need to drop Twilight/Edward Cullen into everyday conversation so they can be cool. It is very strange.”
Pel: “I don’t know about Rob, but hello Adam…Justin Chon just called and he wants his hair back.”

Well I personally LOVED Adam. Definitely the best singer of the night. We should all get behind him and give him the twilighter vote!
I was watching AI, not really paying attention, but the second they mentioned Robert Pattinson, my head jurked right to the tv. My husband just rolled his eyes at me. For the record…that guy is nothing compared to Rob.
I was watching this and as soon as Randy said that, I flipped out! I think it’s so funny that Ryan Seacrest compares him to Edward, it’s becoming so huge!!
Randy was referring to popularity not looks.
Well all I can say is AI got what they wanted. That show jumped the shark years ago. All this pubicity is exactly what they where looking for…
I loved Adams performance and I freaked out when Randy was like “Twilight’s Robert Pattinson.” I don’t think he was referring solely to popularity or looks, I think he was referring to his whole package.

Oh man I was totally just going to e-mail in about this. I guess that’s what I get for West Coast time zone haha. Anyways, Adam is my favorite contestant (so far) on American Idol this season.. I’m not sure exactly HOW he’s like Rob, except for popularity and awesome hair (haha) but that definitely made the show more exciting ;D.

my family and i LOVED the TWILIGHT shoutouts this week… i loved it the most, but whatever… i hate how pretty much everybody (but, basically, adam) KILLED thier songs tonight… my brother and i would be like “that’s a good song”, then the performance would suck, and my mom would be like “you seriously thought that song was GOOD?” (she’d never heard most/all of them before)… but yeah, love the TWILIGHT-ness… i’d love it if they had any TWILIGHT people on their as guests this season… it’d be AWESOME!

Oh,Adam! God bless him, great voice. But Pattinson? Really? In the first part of the song he looked more like (and I don’t mean anything by this! just an observation!! please forgive me if I insult anyone!) Cher, he did this thing with his tounge that looked a a little “Cher-esque” to me. And I have imagined Edward many a time, but never with black nail polish! Yikes

I was walking past the TV as my brother was watching AI and when I heard Robert Pattinson I stopped and said, “Robert Pattinson!!” I had no idea what they were talking about because I just caught his name and then I was confused about why they said his name. My brother looked annoyed at me because he was trying to watch AI and happens to not understand how great Robert and Twilight is. Anyways I figured someone would post this eventually. I don’t see how he sounds like Robert Pattinson, but whatever lol.
That song was horrible for him. Brittany Spears mangled the song once — can’t we just leave it at that?

That being said, when he came out in the beginning of the song, the half smile and hand in the pocket did remind me of Edward in the movie. But I watched it looking for “Rob” references, not for entertainment.
Dude, that was combining my two absolute favorite things in the world into one shot! It. Was. AWESOME!! I was just kind of looking down at my pasta I was eating, but the second Randy made his comment, I screamed and my bowl of pasta was so close to spilling all over the floor. I about died. My dad was like “Ok, well, I guess we know who she’s voting for.”

Honestly, I can’t stand any of the Idol shows and that contestant doesn’t resemble Rob in any way, voice, looks, attitude, or popularity.

I miss the good old days back when Twilight was a little more low key and we could all gush about it without sounding like a poser. Of course, the majority of us are not posers, but ever since the movie came out…Of course it is nice that a lot more people appreciate Twilight though.
