TAYLOR IS JACOB

Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz:
I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
The characters in Stephenie’s books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

I’d just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I’m truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I’m very much looking forward to seeing what he’s going to bring to Jacob’s character this year.

Yay I’m so glad for Taylor and for us the fans!!!
I am VERY happy they decided to go with Taylor! I absolutely HATE IT when they change actors. I will admit that New Moon was my least favorite book, just didn’t have enough action for me…but I hope the movie will be great!
Oh, Thank God, for that. I’m so happy. Thank You Chris Weitz, Summit, and especially Stephenie for allowing Taylor to stay. See even they know there can’t be any other Jacob then Taylor. YAY! Seriously, I think I’m starting to lean more towards Switzerland now. Yet, I’m a Team Edward person at heart. Although, that doesn’t mean I’m not totally psyched that Taylor Lautner is staying as Jacob Black.

Congratulations to Taylor! I have to say I was not a fan at first – and I thought he was a little too young to play my image of Jacob in New Moon. However, he completely won me over with his devotion to the part and the tons of effort he put forth to secure the New Moon role. No one else cound have worked harder – That’s the kind of dedication we Twilighters like to see. I can’t wait to watch what he does with all of the nuances of Jacob in New Moon.

I’ve been worried ever since they announced getting a new director that New Moon wont be as good as Twilight but this is definitely big points to Chris Weitz for keeping Taylor!!! I’m so happy Taylor is my perfect Jacob!

&& I think us Twilight fans really need to pat ourselves on the back for this. We really stepped up and supported Taylor, (and threaten to not see the movie if he wasn’t in it) It may not have made the full decision, but sure was a factor.

Yes:) I’m so happy Taylor is playing Jacob Black. As a Team Jacob member, I definitely wouldn’t have even watched New Moon if Taylor wasn’t the one playing Jacob. WOOHOO!! Taylor really seems to capture Jacob’s personality in Twilight so I know he will be great in New Moon. I can’t wait for it to come out.

The guy who played Warren Peace is Steven Strait. Most of the people who had read the Twilight series before all the hype wanted him to be Jacob.
I’m just indifferent about Taylor for New Moon.

Reading this made me so happy. As soon as I saw Taylor as Jacob in the movie I knew he WAS Jacob.
when i saw this on Steph’s site last night i was speechless for a minute, then i started freaking out and my mom asked what was wrong. when i told her she started screaming with me.i am totally team edward but Taylor deserves this part.

Meh. I was really looking forward to a more MANLY Jacob and (get your pitchforks ready) better acting for the part of Jacob. the Copoun guy or the other dude from Scorpion King would have been a better choice. Taylor has a great attitude, though and lots of enthusiasm. Props to him for that. Oh well, hopefully Rpatz will get used to his contacts so maybe he can give a better performance than he did in Twilight. Otherwise, i prob wont bother with the rest of the franchise. I’ll just keep re-reading the books.

now to obsess over the casting of the Volturi….
Honestly, BEST possible decision they could’ve made. Chris gets EXTRA kudo points for this. It puts a lot more faith in him for me, at least. I’m pretty confident he’s going to give us a New Moon we will all love. Congrats to Taylor for the part again. =)

CRAPPY!!!!!! Taylor was fine for twilight and that was all. And he was fine for the teen fan base, but what about the other half of us? i was so excited with the prospect of a replacement fot jacob, that i am now so bitterly disapointed, im not sure whether or not i will look foward to new moon. chris weitz is being a teeny boppper heine kisser. they are not the only fan base. and stephenie is probably just being nice. sure taylor is emotionally prepared for it, he’s had over a year to be so, give someone else a chance, and they would learn to be emotionally ready for it too. THE BOTTOM LINE IS TAYLOR LAUTNER CANNOT CARRY NEW MOON.!
