Topping the Charts

Like we said a few days ago, it’s the end of the year, and aside from the obvious holidays there’s another thing that always happens this time of year.—lists, lots and lots of lists.  Here are a few of the latest:

First up Stephenie, who yesterday was selected as a Time magazine influential person, can now add being selected as one of MSN’s Most influential Women to her accomplishments.  We’re also going to be looking for Stephenie to make an appearance over here in the next 10 days.

Twilight is up for a bunch of awards over on moviefone. In a year where The Dark Knight, one of the most successful films of all time in many categories, is in the mix; it is going to be a tough year particularly in the best villain and movie that is worth your cash. On the other hand, we should totally be able to rock the vote on best chick flick (I know, I know…guy fans I feel your pain I really do) , best hunk, best couple. Now best breakout star is going to be interesting because Rob and Kristen are pitted against each other. So no matter what movie you love, get over there and vote!

BOX OFFICE MOJO Now the real kicker is going to be what happens with the Twilight movie now that it is, at long last, opening in European powerhouse markets like the UK, Ireland, Germany, and France, and people go back to the movies for repeat visits now that schools are on holiday break.  By the end of the weekend, Twilight should probably be in the number 8 position for best selling films this year. It’s already in the number 1 genre slots for Teen Romance and Vampire. It’s in the number 2 for romantic fantasy, with a fighting chance to get to one there as well.
