Hey, is anybody else having trouble w/ Steph’s site? I can’t seem to get it to load . . .
We need to boost the IMDB rating – it’s 5.3!!! I loved the movie; despite its (very few) flaws, it made me feel . . . like I did reading the book for the first time – exhilerated, excited, enthralled, totally new and fresh and amazed. The rest of the series is amazing, but I kind of lost the feelings after New Moon (I guess the driving force was conflict in Bella & Edward’s relationship for me; the first two are my favorites. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all amazing, but I missed the beauty and rocky insecurity of their relationship. By the very end of New Moon, even in Eclipse w/ the Jacob-Edward controversy, it was kind of set in stone). I still loved all of the books, but this one aspect seemed gone from my perception.
Again, not to slam Eclipse or Breaking Dawn. They were both fantastic.
And are there any other guy fans offended when the media refers to ALL of the fans as “teenage girls?” I read a review today (@ upcominghorrormovies.com) that began, “I am not a 14 year old girl, nor am I a same-sex oriented male who finds Robert Pattinson dreamy.” I’m neither of those. Neither are my friends who read them – there’s a huge guy-crossover fan group at my school (about 1/3 of the people who read the books now).
It offends me when they try to reduce such a diverse fanbase (as I’m sure it offends “them” when I make a negative comment about the forever-single dudes who camp out a week to see Star Wars/Trek) to one group. This series has a lot more to offer than the surface observations of close-minded critics.
Caleb, I’m a GIRL and I’m offended. It really marginalizes the value of the books when reviewers treat them that way.

I would have to agree that it’s annoying that it is assumed that only tween girls are watching this movie. I am married with a 7 year old daughter and I saw the movie twice on opening day, once with my husband and once with the PTA moms. The morning show had 90% of adult women with a few “kids” and guys (husbands I assume). I am looking forward to New Moon, that was my favorite in the series. I hope they do it better than Twilight. Although I loved the movie, it could have been better, but I am not bashing it.
About the People page, it would be nice to see someone other Rob getting attention. I think Kristen deserves a lot more coverage than she’s getting. Hopefully, Taylor will get his due for New Moon and maybe the rest of the Cullen clan. I’m not knocking anyone, I just see Rob everywhere.
I really recommend that the director/screenwrite/actors read the article on MTV called the “New Moon Wishlist” or something like that. Great advices. I want to feel the pain and the love!

I’m voting Kristen. Robert has been interviewed so many times, it is very repetitive. If they get Robert (which looks most likely) I hope they make it interesting.
Also, I’m interested in listening to what Kristen Stewart has to say about the fanbase, some more. I really like her because she seems like a committed actor. And I liked what they said about her being an old soul. She comes off really mature and insightful. But I don’t know how I feel about her calling fans who looked forward to the movie prior to its premiere “retarded”.
