So SM left off DHN (code words Dark High Noon) just prior to the “Meadow Scene”. *heart ache* *tears* *deep breath* as a consolation I’ve heard that the scene was filmed and the music is on the soundtrack. It’s the one by Iron & Wine “Flightless Bird, American Mouth”.

I’ll admit it, I read the draft, I read every last page, and I loved it. I adore the Cullen family, so of course I loved everything about it! I have already sent a hand written letter to Stephanie about “DHN”, encouraging her to not give up on it and that “I have a space on my bookshelf, currently collecting dust, that will remain free until I get to put a hardcover “DHN” copy there.”
This has made my day!

This interview just broke my heart. I think that living in such an electronic world, where we can vent our thoughts in such a real-time and very public fassion, without fear of consequence – makes many people feel entitled to say anything, regardless of how unkind it is. In the case of Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn, the consequences of all of those unkind reviews has obviously been very painful for her. The saddest thing is that most of it came from members of the Twilight fandoms – places organized in celebration of her hard work and imagination. It must have felt like such a betrayal, and must have really hurt. Of course, I will be the first in line if Midnight Sun is ever published, but I can’t accomplish anything when I feel betrayed and hurt, so I wouldn’t blame her if she never comes back to it. I imagine she will eventually just close the door on everything Twilight (except the movies), considering it just a painful memory that she doesn’t want to revisit.
I wish her luck on anything and everything she chooses to work on in the future. I would love it if she revisits Wanderer and Ian and gives us more of their world, as well as more of Edward’s.
She said she might begin writing two years from now. Which means that it will take longer to actually finish the first draft, then edit it with her publishing house. If she begins writing in exactly two years from now it will take longer then two years for us to see in in stores. I’d say four years, three if we are very lucky.
Haha, we should sigh a petition to promise to forget everything we read in DHN.
I do hear by swear to forget everything I have ever heard or read in DHN. I like it! We could all have our memories altered like in MIB!

I was so happy to read that she will finish DHN!! The funny thing is we will all be use to calling the book DHN and when Midnight Sun comes out we wont be use to that name hahah!!
I really felt bad for her with the Breaking Dawn back lash but I really think most people have come around and really like the book. I loved it!!

safina: i second what you said. people keep talking about how they wanted a main character to die or some kind of epic battle or a betrayal by a cullen family member… i just don’t understand this. how often in real life do we get happy endings? hardly ever! and how has that effected our society? we are more depressed than ever! the only place we can have a real happy ending is in our fiction novels. breaking dawn ended as it should have, it’s just as simple as that!

But who was ever really ready for their(SM/Bella/Edward/Jacob) story to end?
Just when Edward and Bella would be forever together and everbody’s happy; I felt that WE lost our connection with the author and other friends and family who were tied into this world with us. It really left me in a free fall state of mind.
Great work of on the author SM’s part.
There are probably more of us out there who have never been so inspired by a work of literature.

So, yeah Dark High Noon, is the only words I’ll be saying when referring to the most anticipated book ever. I hope she publishes it, because that would be a dream come true.

I am thrilled to hear that there is still a possibility for it to come out. I would like some more insight to Edwards character as I feel like even when I read the scenes where he tells Bella how he felt when he first met her there is so much he leaves out. It was amazing that we got to look through Jacobs mind in Breaking Dawn and I saw so much more of his character. I see the internal struggle within Edward, but to hear it from his own perspective would be incredible.
I was really looking forward to “it” until I read the chapters on Stephenie’s website. It made Edward seem insecure, immature and kind of annoying. I like him better in Twilight, when he is more mysterious. Sometimes less really is more.
Well, yeah, we could call it Dark High Moon, but if everyone continues to talk about it anyway, code name or not, it’ll still mean the same thing to Stephenie. I think we just need to stop talking about it all together.

OOMMMGGG those comments were hard to read. I’m really glad to have an estimate about when DHN (ahhhh, codenames!) will be published. I have been determined not to read it until its published, so a deadline makes it a little easier. Ahhhh cnt wait!!! DHN will be like the last glimpse into our world of vampires, one last bang after the series conclusion. I think it will be a nice refresher. As to Breaking Dawn, remember, SM writes these stories for herself too. She knows the characters better than we ever could and she has always known how the series was going to end. She created this world of vampires and werewolves, she can do whatever she wants with it. As to DHN, that story, that insight into Edwards mind was hers too, and someone stole it. If a robber broke into your house and took something of yours wouldnt you feel betrayed? vulnerable? She needs all the support she can get, and im glad to see that so many fans have continued to give her just that. Woww i cant believe how fast the codename caught onn!! And my gosh i cannnnot wait for the movie. Two weeks!!! Anyway, that was a total topic change. Continue.
I’m very happy that Stephenie is still planning to probably, someday publish Dark High Noon. But the best thing to do for now for all of us fans is to not pressure her. Let her do this as she pleases, and however she is able. Writing a book is hard work, so keep it light with the pressure, kay?

omg my mom told me DHM (love the code name!) wasnt going to be published and i was like no big deal and then i read the rough draft on the internet and was like shaking the comp screen begging for the rest! I understand why though, DHM was like a precious secret, when it went out, she was probably devastated. I understand if she doesnt continue, but I would ANYTHING to helps her finish *gets down on hands and knees and begs* SM 4ever!
