i was so excited when i opened itunes around 20 minutes ago, having preordered the soundtrack, and all of a sudden it started downloading! i was expecting to have to get up a little early tomorrow morning to put it on my ipod, but now i can listen to it as a fall asleep. =D

Is it just me, or are Rob’s songs really excellent? So soothing. They make me smile.
it’s definitely not just you, lofi. my friend doesn’t like his voice, but i love it. the only thing is it’s really weird to think that that voice comes out of that man, but that doesn’t make it bad in any way.

Man, I just went in to pre-order it around 10:30 and it all just started to download. I was like, “huh? but I thought…oh well!” haha, I can’t complain! I love all the songs, especially Robert’s and the classics like La Traviata at the end…I wonder where that fits into the movie? Robert’s voice reminds me of Ray LaMontagne. Very good! I’ll be listening to this while I wait for an hour to vote =)
I find Rob’s voice to be entrancing with almost a country/folk singer’s twang, although not very articulate (really hard to understand the words he is singing). Doesn’t mean I don’t like it, I just wish I knew the lyrics – the digital booklet that came with the iTunes version does not contain lyrics. I found one site out there with an attempt at the lyrics, but I don’t think they’re correct. The rest of the songs are great too in my opinion, I did have some of them anyway prior to the soundtrack. The Perry Ferrell song has a techno beat, and his voice really isn’t featured much (I’m an old Jane’s Addiction fan). The bonus RP song is a short 2 minutes of mostly acoustic guitar. The Paramore songs are well done and catchy, I can envision Decode fitting into the film as Bella figures out Edward’s secrets. Their 2nd song I Caught Myself seems to cover B&E’s awkward beginnings. Other songs like Full Moon and Eyes on Fire have an eerie, mystical feel. Bella’s Lullaby I still find a disappointment – the piano section is very simplistic with orchestral accompaniment. I had read it was more of “Bella’s Theme” while the Piano part was Edward’s – to me that feels the weakest part of the song. I don’t hate it, I was just hoping to impressed. It’s just okay.. But the overall soundtrack I know will be a favorite of mine with an eclectic mix of artists.
So excited! I am downloading it from iTunes right now.
I’m listening to “Never Think” as I type. I love the soundtrack! All the songs are great, except for the “Going All The Way Into Twilight”. It sounds like a rave tune.

Okay, so I went to buy my tickets for the midnight release here in Idaho Falls, ID and the both screens that the midnight release is boing shown on are sold out. Ahhhh! Is this happening everywhere. All I know is that for any other midnight release for any other movie I was always able to get tickets day of. Here is it 17 days to go and we are sold out. That is awesome. It can only mean that they are definitley going to do New Moon. How could they not.
I got to come home today to my Soundtrack & Paramore shirt waiting for me. The cd is in my player now! The few I wsn’t sure if I liked yet I’m liking better. It’s definitely an interesting mix! Now I just need to be watching the movie . . .
Midlight…I totally agree with your assessment. I was disappointed with Bella’s Lullaby. Should have been a straight piano mix with no strings – the strings version could have been left for the Original Score that arrives in December. While I love the guitar on Rob’s songs, there is such a disconnect with his voice and I find his mumbling kinda annoying. Lyrics would be nice
Overall, it’s pretty good. Still loving Decode most of all…
I so love iTunes…I just got home from Work and was gonna update my iPod with a new CD I bought at Borders (not the soundtrack, an indie band I love, and the Twilight soundtrack started to download! I’m so stoked.

I will be getting mine tomorrow, I have an exam tomorrow, so what better way to study than to listen to the Twilight soundtrack while I review in my school’s quiet room. Oh, and I will also listen to this while I wait at the pole lines to vote.
I agree with the person who commented that Rob’s voice is similar to Ray LaMontage (who I love). Looking forward to listening to this soundtrack over and over…

bella’s lullaby is dissapointing. I thought I would be blown away by the piano! Not the case, I found it elementary and simple. I still like the song, just not what I expected for Bella’s lullaby.
Whoever commented about the midnights of Twilight being sold out….you just got to keep going up to the theatre and bugging them to add in another! It’s not hard….I’m a manager at a theatre for that kind of stuff. I know at my theatre, we have four screens set up for a midnight already and we’ll add in more as necessary!

But I’m listening to MuteMath’s Spotlight” (on Steph’s site) and I LOVE it. I was so happy to see that it was included in the ST. I LOVE MuteMath… <3
I also really like Parrey Farrell’s song. At first I hated it but now I’m like addicted to it. I once minimized Steph’s site and just listened to it while I was browsing the internet… XD I think they should use that song as the opening or something. Or maybe that would be too obvious?
I confess to being still frustrated and inpatient that there are no affirmed lyrics, and have now found myself trying to decipher them myself.
While I’ll probably face some embarrassment when the actual lyrics are posted, here’s my stab:
(A side note – this song made me think back to the conversation in Twilight when Edward said to Bella that he always wants to know what she is thinking, he just wishes she wouldn’t think some things. Meaning a large part of him wishes she wouldn’t return his feelings, and the part of himself that does want to have her love him in return, he perceives as selfish. He sees himself a monster that will take away both her life and her soul, and he wants at the same to time protect that soul. He’s very conflicted.)

Midlight i think your assessment of the lyrics if almost spot on to what i have as well.! lovely Lyrics very heart breaking, his voice is very different, but I love it! Reminds me of Nick Drake! The sound track is great. bella’a Lullaby could have been better though!

i’m listening to the cd right now… the songs all rock.. not to fond of Rob’s songs but i’m sure there grow on me… and as for the lullaby………
i like it… just the whole melody thing reminds me software of the earth… like Edward is describing bella, how her hair is brown as the earth, and smile as bright as a star, and how her personality is as warm as the moon… it really nice… when he starts going through the scale, it feels like he’s going much into details of her, her soul, the ever changing complexity of her mind, and the softnotes again, reminding himself how much he loves her…. Hmmmmm..i like.
O_O i was typing really fast and i meant to her personality is as warm as the sun…not moon….but oh well..anywho i like the song!!!

I hate to be the hater but I’m somewhat disappointed in the soundtrack.
I just … can’t imagine these songs on the movie, at all. And I’m sorry, but I don’t like Rob’s “Never Think” because you can’t understand more than 30% of his words…kind of slurry.
I was so excited when I downloaded the soundtrack this morning, and now that I’ve listened to it … what a waste of computer space.

I got it a meijer! Woot, but my computer didn’t recongnize the cd so i have to type in everything myself
so i was on campus ALL day and just tried Target, Best Buy, and Wal Mart- all the stores are sold out! I would download from itunes but I like having the CD plus there’s a poster in the CD case
the myspace of rob’s band (under some weird name) showed his music to not sound anything like him, but more like a southern blues man which I thought was pretty cool. From the comments I’ve read… I had high hopes for Bella’s Lullaby, dang
I love the soundtrack, I will so totally go to sleep to Bella’s lullaby tonight and have pleasant dreams. Oh, and listening to the soundtrack while studying for my exam actually helped, I did better than my last exam. I was listening to music that day to, but not this. I guess it’s true classical music does help, cuz yeah I kept playing Bella’s Lullaby in my head as I took it, so that definitely helped. =)

I love my Twilight soundtrack the songs sound verry vampire. I can imagine all the songs on the movie. Bella’s lillaby is not quight what i thought it would but i really like i thought it would have words but i can see hin playing it for her on the movie! over all i love it!
The twilight soundtrack i really cool i think the songs work for twilight theay are really cool!
I really don’t like the soundtrack.. Bella’s lullaby is really good but too short and has other instruments other then the piano which makes it not real and the other songs are weird. I like Paramore’s Decode but the other songs are just all weird sounding and not cool. I was disappointed.
