Darn… no comments on New Moon. But on IMDB is says New Moon is slated for 2010… but I can’t read any more because I don’t have IMDbPro.
oooh please don’t have changed too much of the book… No offence to anyone, but the “spider monkey” line did NOT win me over. Edward would never say that! Still, I’m keeping an open mind
I’ll bet she is doing a script for New Moon. She said I’ll have to go with no…..Hmmm. Hopefully Yeah!!!! So far she likes BD too!
Krina…………
I agree, I didnt like the flying in thru the trees either! Just have them running like in the book!
WHEN SHE’S ASKED IF THEIR DOING NEW MOON SHE GIVES US A NO COMMENT?!?!?! COME ON!!! I’m hoping they do ALL the books. If they don’t…. let’s just say that somebody’s gonna be in A LOT of trouble with the Twilighters! I’M WARNING YOU GUYS AT SUMMIT. WE’RE LETHAL! GRRR!!!
Weeelll, considering other characters are preparing for the sequals, like Taylor Lautner is “bulking up” and Jackson Rathbone said he’s signed onto the next two… i think its safe to say that if the First movie does well…then they will continue ^^; But that’s just a fan’s perspective.
I LOVED that interview! Very awesome! ^_^
The spider monkey part could totally work. We’ve never really heard Edward joke THAT much… so it’s entirely possible. Also they just jumped into a tree didn’t they? I don’t think that’s IMPOSSIBLE either, considering they can do things like that in BD too. xD
There was hardly any conversation going on when they were running, and this movie probably had to cut out a FEW things.
BTW does anyone else know how long this movie will be?
I’ve seen one site that has it at 100 minutes…
Wow, what an awesome interview! Melissa is obviously very intelligent, and she knows what it takes to do her job. She knows you can’t have everything, but realizes in a way you need everything you just need different more compact ways to get it all in there. They’ll cut out some of Bella’s longer description scenes, but then we’ll see Kristen’s reactions to him we’ll see Robert as Edward and us fans will remember every page and every word Bella uses to describe him. And of course she loves the books and has done the best that she can to ‘get it right’ so that the movie stays true to the book and has the reasons we fell in loe with it at the movie’s core. Brava! =)
love* sorry about that.
I’m not sure I like the direction the screenplay is taking. For example, EVERYTHING Kristen/Bella says in the second teaser trailer 1.was never actually said, and 2.makes poor Bella sound half-witted. Please. For crying out loud, “I know what you are…your skin is ice-cold and pale white…” sounds a bit pathetic to me. I was also not very happy when Laurent’s line “You brought a snack,” was given to James. Perhaps it was meant to make it sound more menacing, but still I was disappointed with the change. If Stephenie approves of this, I wish her all the best. But I am still entitled to my opinion, and can only hope that those bits of dialogue got cut out. And all of you are more than welcome to disagree with me on this; it’s just an opinion.
everyone is worrying too much about the script. i read it, it’s actually REALLLY good! They condensed the novel really well.. and even though there’s some different things, it makes the movie a lot better.
Now the question is… how will they project the script on the big screen….
MissRoseGreen, actually a lot of what the script says IS SAID in the book.
“You’ve Brought a snack” is IN Twilight..(I Just read that scene the other night XD) James really does ask Edward if he brought a snack, same lines, might be a different inflection though…
And I think Bella’s lines are totally in character, even if they aren’t said EXACTLY that way, it’s still something she would probably point out.
I don’t know about anyone else, but the fact that the screenwriter is really enjoying BD takes a huge weight off and makes me more hopeful that they will do all 4 (or 5, if split) movies! *does a little dance* Yay!
What an awesome interview! I think that if twilight does good in theaters(and we all know that it will) New Moon is going to become a movie.
The book and the movie are obviously two completely different things, and she is trying to adapt our beloved book into something that translates well on screen that still captures the essence of the book. Added onto the huge fandom salivating for this movie to be out and for it to be good, I think what we’ve seen so far has been amazing. Just because the characters in the movie don’t say the exact same lines as in the book doesn’t mean that the movie will be bad. Everyone should wait until the movie comes out to judge how great the lines are.
And, come on. We all know that Twilight movie is going to be huge. I personally am going to be seeing it at a midnight release, because there definitely will be one, and see it at least 2 other times in theatres. They aren’t just going to give that kind of reaction up and leave it to just one movie, when there is potential for three or four more. I think it goes without saying that there will be more movies.
And I don’t care about the ages of the cast, just keep using them for the other movies.
What I like about the subtle differences between the book and the movie (as much as we’ve seen) is that we get to re-experience the wonderful story from a little different angle. Especially since we only see through Bella’s eyes in the book. I think the little differences will be really fun.
And I’m with Kassia, I’ll be there at the midnight show, and again, and again …
CKitsune, I think you misunderstood me. I know perfectly well that the phrase “You’ve brought a snack,” was in the book. But it was said by a different character than said it in the script; thus, my disappointment. I did concede, if you read my comment thoroughly, that they may have changed the speaker for dramatic effect in the film. BUT: I have to disagree with the idea that what Bella says in the trailer was in character. Which is my point. It is NOT in character for Bella. I personally think she might be ashamed to have said those things out loud. I consider her far to articulate and introverted to have spoken to anyone that way.
I also don’t like the spider monkey thing and them jumping around the fire like wild monkeys. They should act educated people, even though their burning James.
Dah
Oh and doesn’ Laurent say that part. ” Oh you brought a snack.” ????
I know I, myself, will be picking the movie apart for differences (so and so didn’t say that in the book, etc.), but I think if everyone goes into this movie with the mindset that it’s NOT going to be EXACTLY like the book, we’ll be less disappointed and anal about subtle differences. C’mon, if it were just word-for-word out of the book, it would be a tad boring, since we have all read the book a bazillion times and practically have it memorized. I like how they’ve added some scenes, and a bigger storyline for the nomads. I did think the “your hands are ice cold” line in the trailer was sheisty, but oh well. You can’t have everything the way you want it. I still think it’s going to be amazing, and everyone needs to calm down about switcheroos/additions to lines and the casts hair color and cut, etc., etc. From what I’ve seen of clips and trailers and teasers, I think the cast has down an awesome job at really trying to be true to the book as much as they can with a script that isn’t the book itself, and they deserve a lot of credit.
here’s my question…in the book we KNOW his hands are ice cold and freezing…but how will we will get that point across in the movie without really hearing Bella’s thoughts? Although I think she is narrating the movie sometimes… (I can’t be sure, of course)I don’t think the audience who has never read Twilight will get that… unless Kristin says something… you know what I mean?
I’m sure there will be narrating on Bella’s parts but I’m happy we get to see the other character’s in action, you know like what the rest of Forks is doing and quite frankly I like James saying “You brought a snack”, more than Laurent.
I really hope that there is some narration from Bella, obviously she can’t say some of the things she thinks and it would mess up the flow of things if they just get left out.
As for “New Moon” if there isn’t any narration I’m not sure I’d want to see it, there is just to much internal dialogue in Bella’s head, most of which are my favorite parts and without them it just wouldn’t work well. “New Moon” is my favorite, Breaking Dawn might take it’s place after a few more reads, and if they leave out the parts that made it so it would be very disappointing. The whole “time passes” part and her epiphany at the end for the narration and of course if they mess with Edward’s meteor speech well then that will just be wrong. of course that’s assuming they actually make the movie.
hey how can i discuss breaking dawn w/ u all?

am i the only one who cant believe bella got pregnant?
