Wow!!! That’s a really great idea, i think.

    Books that got me hooked:

    1. Twilight
    2. New Moon
    3. Eclipse
    4. Breaking Dawn
    5. Midnight Sun (future reference :D )

  2. Gina says:

that is such a nice idea! the book that first got me hooked was “Twilight”!!

  3. Twilighter says:

    TWILIGHT :)

  4. Tanit says:

    Well there’s thousands!

  5. Michelle says:

I entered Twilight, and I picked NY. That’s a really cool idea.

  6. Alison says:

    Twilight!
    It really did!
    Now I’m a total bookworm =]

  7. Victoria says:

That is a really good organization! I voted Twilight

  8. BoysfromBooks says:

ugh i feel so “non twi-hard ish”
i couldnt vote for twilight. im so sorry! i feel as if that went against my self!
its just, the only reason i picked up twilight a few years ago was because of the first chapter book i read:
harry potter and the sorcerer’s stone
of course, twilight is my absolute FAV, but its one of many many many many books i’ve read quickly.
harry potter was and is my first. gotta vote for that

  9. Drudo says:

Harry Potter got me hooked. I’ve read them and haven’t turned my back since. But I’ve never been more obsessed of a book before like I am with Twilight. BD we awesome!!

  10. proud_twihard says:

    agree with drudo 100%

  11. Lucy says:

I feel non-Twi-Hardish too. I started to like reading 5 years ago, before Twilight came out. I just picked up a random book since we needed to read a certain number of books for an assignment. I ended up grabbing Once Upon a Marigold. Not the greatest book, but it felt real. I ended up finding better and better books… The sad thing is, is that all I can tell you about Once Upon a Marigold is there is a princess and something to do with mushrooms. I don’t even remember.

Obviously Twilight is the greatest book in existence, but It didn’t even exist when I started reading… T.T

  12. Marija says:

Well TWILIGHT duhh!!!and new moon and eclipse and breaking dawn!

  13. Lin says:

Harry Potter all the way and is still the number 1 book everywhere! So not to be rude, but for the people who say twilight, just got hooked on books since 2005? Just wondering….

  14. No matter what book got you hooked, the important thing is that you got turned onto reading. If something hooked you, it probably will hook others. So be honest about it, no matter what book (Twilight Saga or not) it is. This is one of those rare win-win situations, vote your heart and help a person in need of a good book out!

  15. ilovesickmasochisticlions says:

i wish i could say twilight… but it was Harry Potter. :)
    love em both. :P

  16. Verdande says:

I voted for Good Night Mister Tom. My mother read it to me before I went to bed when I had just learned to read. I wanted to continue to read the book when she finished for the evening, but I wasn’t allowed because she enjoyed the book just as much as me, so she wanted to know what happened to the little English boy during World War II as well.

I don’t know if this is the book that got me hooked in reading, I just remember it as one of the first books I wanted to read myself…

  17. Ashley says:

I put The Giving Tree because that was the book that started it for me :] It was so thick compared to other kid’s books and I felt so proud every time I finished it. Then I thought about Harry Potter but I couldn’t put that even if it did kick my reading up a notch. I didn’t even consider Twilight because I’ve been reading for so long, but all of them rock! Twilight is the best, it just didn’t start my addiction. :p

  18. Katy says:

Wish I could say Twilight. But I started to get into reading wayyy before I was twelve.
Maybe Inkheart? I was so happy when I finished it because it was such a long book for an nine year-old to read.

  19. Tanit says:

The neverending story, I wish I could say Twilight though.

  20. EMiLyMiCHELLE says:

Umm… actually, I think it was Uglies.
It got me started reading again, though I wish I could say twilight, cuz its my favorire.
    Now, I can’t be w/o a book. :D

  21. ReturnedSecrets says:

Oh my goodness, I’ve been reading practically my entire life and before I could read my mom read to me! I can’t even remember THE book that got me hooked me on reading. When I think back to my childhood I would have to say my favorite books were my collection of Giant Richard Scarry books. I loved his books and the characters. I still buy them for young cousins, friend’s kids and soon for my nieces …they have birthdays coming up.

  22. stella says:

There are other places reviewing breaking dawn. there’s a writng site called youngwriterssociety.com and they have a forum on book reviews: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic33985.html

    Several people gave thier opinions.

No back on topic. Twilight wasn’t my first either. I think it was Flipped (can’t remember the author). I’ll have to go suggest that now… :)

  23. Emi says:

Wish I could say Twilight, but in all seriousness, the first book that got me hooked was the first book in the Young Wizard series, So You Want To Be A Wizard. One of my all time favs before I read Twilight. But I do think that if it wasn’t for those books, Twilight would have probably gotten me hooked. :)

  24. Tanit says:

Arghh I can’t say just one because I can’t really remember the first, The neverending story, The famous five (all of them), The Hobbit…

  25. Harryfan20 says:

Yep. As with many who have already posted, it was Harry. :)

  26. Ally says:

I voted for Twilight and said NH!!! WOOHOO! HOPE WE WIN!!! (lol, jk…) :-{D

  27. Natalie says:

i would have to say harry potter. I love twilight to death but harry first stole my heart first. It is now split between harry potter and edward now. but harry was first and will always be for me

  28. Sarah says:

Twilight was the book that made reading just absolutely amazing for me. I read books before, but Twilight was the one that made me start reading anything that cought my eye :D

  29. Haley Kay says:

I’ve been reading since I was like five!!

but since I have to include Twilight…. it’s just necessary…

I voted TWilight like five times :D

and then went back and voted two more times for the two books that got me hooked when I was way little: Goodnight Moon and all of the Little Critters books.

    ^-^

  30. Sarah says:

Well, I’ve always been a workworm… Ever since I was like 7 years old. I voted for Socks by Beverly Cleary- it was the first book that I read over and over again.

  31. Twilighter Fanpire says:

The book that got me hooked was actually Twilight haha I used to hate reading books so much and then my friends kept pestering me about reading this book called Twilight and they even gave me the book, so i started reading it and i was hooked and then after i went on to read the rest of the saga then I would spend everyday at the library :D It becacme my favorite place haha

  32. autumn says:

Along with others I couldn’t choose twilight, especially since twilight wouldn’t come out for another 9 years.
In reality what really got me into read was the magic tree house series. when I was 7 or something

  33. Forever Vampire says:

The first book that got me hooked was the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. I had ever enjoyed reading till I read that book, and now I’ll a complete book worm.

  34. Devon061381 says:

I’ve always enjoyed reading all the way back through early elementary school, and a variety of books, like Number The Stars, Diary of Anne Frank, The Giver, etc. I think the most singular book/books that really made me the bookworm I am today were…and I’m dating myself here…The Babysitters Club books. I so enjoyed them in late elementary school. :)

  35. jess says:

I had to vote Harry Potter. I didn’t read until I read Harry Potter now I’m hooked. Twilight is the 2nd book that I have become completly obsessed over.

  36. jp says:

harry potter hands down for me. i hated reading before i read that book. after reading hp, i was able to appreciate more of the books that i had read in the past because i felt like i can actually enjoy reading for leisure time and not just homework. twilight will always be my number 1 series in my heart though because i was there from the start. with potter 6 books had already came out when i started reading it so i was a late bloomer.

  37. I’ve been reading ever since I learned, so almost 30 years ;-) My first FAVE was The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley when I read it in Jr High. Since being a mom I’ve slowed down in my reading, but I’ve Always grabbed a couple really good books each year: Anything by Terry Brooks, anything by Stephenie Meyer, Harry Potter, Inkheart, Peter Pan and the Star Catchers series….

  38. jenni_elyse says:

This is a great idea! I hated reading when I was younger. My parents tried everything, but to no avail, I just wouldn’t read. Then, I picked up the Harry Potter series and I realized how fun reading could be. However, I still didn’t embrace reading until I read Twilight. Now, I can’t seem to stop! :) Thank you, Stephenie! :D

  39. SiriusIsSerious says:

The first book I ever loved was The Magician’s Newphew by C.S. Lewis. That book was the turning point in my reading life…until I read it (well, my mother read it to me, but still) I hated books and didn’t believe it was possible for magic to exist in the form of a simple paper-and-cover structure.

    I am wiser now :D

It was Harry after that, then Twilight. ;)

  40. Claire says:

Ha ha, the sad thing is i hated reading before I read twilight…but now i love reading because of it, so its all good!!!

  41. meenajonny says:

    Tikki Tikki Tembo…

When I was in the second grade. Never forgot it.

  42. Harryfan20 says:

Twillight Teezer, I too love the Peter and the Starcatchers series! Also Inkheart, Harry Potter, etc. I am a bookworm :)

  43. Tina says:

I remember when I was in 2nd grade I used to read The Magic Tree house series a lot, that was the first time I really started to read…good times :D

  44. bella wannabe says:

omg I have read so many books that were awesome I can’t even choose. But I think it had to be either So B. It. Or the lighting theif. Those r just the ones that got me hooked on reading. But twilight is my fab.

  45. Edwardbitespillow says:

Twilight for me totaly……when i first read it i was jst like yea whatever another vampire love series but then i totally got into…thanks stephenie for wrighting an amazing series!!!!

  46. nicole says:

Uhm, hard to say. I would have to say either Harry Potter or the Princess diaries series. but i think i read harry first. but i did really start reading a lot more after i read Twilight….

  47. tw07 says:

I’d have to say Twilight. It’s kind of odd, because I’m 22 so you’d think that I would have found something before now. And I have read many books that I absolutely loved, and breezed right through. But none that made me realize how real a story can feel. It’s like I don’t feel complete anymore if I’m not lost in some other universe. So I think that the book that really turned me into a bookworm is Twilight.

  48. urcoolcarrie says:

absolutely twilight. i never read big books before that, and now i’m reading 1000 page books like its nothin.
hey, utah people, lets get going! we want those books!! :)

  49. Leila says:

For me it was a book called Good-Bye Best friend, by Cherie Bennette. Forever all i read were books by her.

For my sister it was Twilight. She was never a reader till that book came allong.

  50. y3nd0 says:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, baby!

Snagged that thing back in the 4th grade and chugged down all four books (the only four that were out at the time) in just a few months.
