I think splitting in 2 movies would work. These books are only from Bellas POV (well, except for Jake at the end of Eclipse & Book 2 in BD)
so we don’t know what the other characters are saying or thinking. Like in Twilight, we will get to see what happens with the Cullens fighting James.
In BD, **spoiler for someone who didn’t read**

when Alice left, that opens up her & Jasper on the run, as does the rest of the Cullens getting the other vamp covens. Maybe even the Volturi’s reaction to Nessie!! If the writers work with SMeyer it could be pulled off.

Of course, the actors would have to be on board. I am curios to know if they’ve read the book and what they think!!!

  2. If they were to make a movie?
    Hm, that’s really dificult.
I think if it were made into ONE movie, it’d be really long. I’m not sure if that many people would want to sit through that. They’d have to pause it so people can get a chance to pee. lol.
If it were SPLIT, then that would be kind of bad too. Because it would be leaving us on a cliffhanger. ew. lol.

  3. Elaine says:

    can anyone youtube it?

  4. Monika says:

Breaking Dawn a movie? Hm. It could be good if it is done the right way, nothing campy. It would have to be split up. I’m wondering how Kristen stewart is feeling about child birth right now? I’m sure after that scene more than Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are thinking more seriously about birth control.
Truth…They should end with Eclipse with the wedding and honeymoon attached to the end, OR they should change the ending scene with the Volturi. There has to be an epic scene for the men who accompany their wives and girlfriends selflessly.

  5. Nicole says:

I thought the interview was great! I felt that Stephenie’s answers made since for how she felt about her characters. I think it is possible to make some additional movies to Twilight, but it would need to be arranged a bit, combined maybe. I think it will be evident if the books can go further into cinema if Twilight is received well. I loved BD, I was surprised by a few moments/chapters and that was great!! I think it is really unfortunate that some people felt it necessary make so many complaints. Stephenie has given so much of herself to these novels and we are fortunate to get the entertainment. Didn’t mean to go on and on….

  6. Nicole says:

nice, sense. not since….. clearly getting late around here!
    All my best, Nicole

  7. Kristin Cullen says:

did twilight lexicon get deleted from twilight top sites?? =(

  8. kate says:

Rachel! That twilight spoof was hilarious! :) still, no youtube of it? I really want to know what she was saying, anyone have q&a written down tho?

  9. Veronica V. says:

That post-BD release interview that MTV has with SM is great! Very informative and I always love hearing things from Stephenie’s perspective.

I’m not sure audiences would warm to a BD movie. Your typical movie goer is expecting something to blow up, at least once. Although the psychological battle at the end had me frantic and bitting my nails, I think some people (as has obviously happened with the book) would feel it anti-climactic… regardless of the fact that THEY’RE IN MORTAL DANGER THE WHOLE FRACKING TIME! OMG!!!
    sorry… lol

  10. Emily says:

They can cut a lot out of BD to make it into one movie plus it is so descriptive in Bella’s and Jake’s thoughts and feelings that it only takes a few seconds for an actor to display what takes her a page or two to write… I would rather have one movie

  11. Kristin Cullen says:

true- it would be torture to wait another year for the final movie. or maybe they can film it closely together so the second one will be released a few months after the first BD movie.
    But we shall see..

  12. tw07 says:

I wonder how they would show Jacob’s imprinting. From an outsiders perspective he probably just looks like he’s gone a little crazy. :)

  13. Devon061381 says:

I thought the interview with SM was fantastic and she answered more than I thought she did on the concert series tour.

At first, I thought BD would be a wreck of a movie. However, the birth scene would not be quite as visually detailed to keep it in the PG-13 range, so I’m sure it would be a lot of Jake and Ed shots. I thought 2 movies was a good idea first, but I agree with above posters about the fact that they could probably do it in one movie, with the inner dialogue cutting down the time substantially, and having it be longer than the others. Personally, I think we will get all of the sequels. Summit got a taste of the fan reaction to the movie when they showed up at Comi-Con. They’re already working on the script for New Moon, as confirmed from the producer. They’re going to wait to start filming until after the New Year, as long as Twilight gets a good reaction in the box office. They’ve also stated that they want to shoot the sequels back-to-back because they don’t want anyone to age significantly, and it’s more time and cost effective to reuse scenes/props rather than getting rid of them and then a year or so later start filming the next ones. It worked out well for LOTR by doing it that way. Then they can have a scheduled release timeline for each of the sequels. I feel pretty good about the fact that we’ll see sequels. I’m anxious to see how BD is handled as a script. I’m thinking there are going to be some “creative” changes, but nothing so dramatic that it would affect the storyline.

  14. skye says:

I agree with Eponine. I like James Franco as Garrett. I can see it.

  15. mrs.EDWARDCULLEN says:

Personally, its a bit early for me to say anything. I think they should see how well Twilight does first. It COULD work as a standalone movie if it had to be.
Just thinking about New Moon and how boring that movie would be…
But if I had to choose … I dont really know. There are both pros and cons obviously. However, it seems like almost copying Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows since SM wants to split it into two movies.
That would be kind of good, more to look forward to. But the anticipation and waiting? I’m not really patient, unfortunetly.
I don’t know what BD would be rated if it were made into a movie … and if they put it all into one it would be rushed and crammed and stuff = not good. Doubt that everything would fit.
So yeah. I don’t really want them to do a BD movie. Not really. They could just put the wedding at the end of Eclipse. Then change BD a little if they were actually making a movie.
Wow, do you know how long this would take? It would be out in like … 2011 at the earliest! :o

  16. Brianne says:

I think I mentioned on an earlier posting that IMDBpro has New Moon listed as “In Development” for release in 2010. I agree that Breaking Dawn should be one movie though, unless they intend to add more of what happens with Alice after she leaves, then maybe two.

  17. twliunatic says:

i also agree with skye and eponine that james franco would make a great garett. hopefully he’ll audition.

  18. bumblebee33 says:

Okay, so if BD was made into a movie, i think it should be one movie, but i think since it was so long, possibly too long to be one movie, they should take the wedding scene out and put it at the end of eclipse. i don’t really know if it would be too big a cliffhanger, but me and my friends both thought that since SO much happened in BD, SM should have put the wedding scene in eclipse.

  19. Melissa says:

My friend Savannah and I thought that Stephenie seemed negative in this clip..I personally believe that Breaking Dawn would make a fantastic movie. I loved how very visual the book was. I had a problem imagining the places in full, as I could in the other books but if I could see them on the screen it would most likely be amazing. Stephenie might not be much of a movie person but I think I speak for some in saying that we would love to see all of her books in the Twilight Saga including the beautiful Breaking Dawn turned into a feature film!

    =]

  20. pinky says:

I agree totally with #43 up there! I think the Hype will die down too much for 5 movies! Harry Potter has already died down and they arent even finished with the movies! Oh, and they even age in the book so its ok to drag them out!

  21. chrissy says:

Who does Stephenie think she is? J.K. Rowling?

I honestly dont think Breaking Dawn will be made into a movie, and if it was it would look something like Blade.
