    awesome.

  2. I agree–two movies. I actually like the other article by Sabrina Rojas Weiss more than the movie article.

  3. rachel says:

sigh i love twilight tuesday, it makes my week

  4. Teresa says:

hmmm… i think i’d rather watch it all in one sitting, if it were to be a movie.

  5. SiriusIsSerious says:

Two movies mnight be a good idea, especially if they’re putting a lot of info into them…it’ll keep the viewer more invested. An exceptionally long movie would likely become a bore after a while.

Also, I am dying for them to use Josh Holloway as Garrett <3

  6. kate says:

ummm…anyone have the vid on youtube yet? canada girl here would love to watch it, pretty please? :)

  7. edward loves nicole says:

how come there’s no link to MTV Twilight Tuesday.. :( anyway i love the new site! continue loving the twilight saga (even if you have negative comments on breaking dawn *wink*) have a nice day everyone.. i love this site. makes my day.. :)

  9. Susan H. says:

I’m a little surprised that Stephenie said the logical ending of a first BD movie would be the end of Book Two. I think it would be pretty unsatisfying, after everything the viewer had gone through at that point, to know that Bella was being turned into a vampire but not see what she was like afterwards. It would be sort of anticlimactic to see that stuff at the beginning of a second movie.

When I was reading BD I was sure I’d found the place Stephenie thought of as the break between the two halves of the story — the end of chapter 26, after Bella beat Emmett at arm wrestling. This is after she’s re-established her relationship with Edward post-transformation, started to re-establish contact with Charlie, and feels like she’s found her place in the world as a vampire. Irina turns up in chapter 27, which kicks off the second conflict in the book and seems like the logical place to begin a second movie. The conflict with the Volturi could then be fleshed out a little and made a bit more exciting.

Realistically though, it’s hard to imagine two BD movies ever being made. I actually think BD could work pretty well as one movie, if the wedding and maybe part of the honeymoon were moved to the end of Eclipse. (What can I say, I’m a sucker for the classic end-on-a-wedding. :)

  10. Adriana says:

for some reason I keep seeing Jensen Ackles of Supernatural as Garrett.

  11. irishtea says:

I think there should be just 3 movies with a wedding at the end of Eclipse. Can no one else see the awkwardness of BD becoming a movie?

  12. RMN says:

I agree with you irishtea. I also think it will be hard to keep the momentum and interest going for 4 more movies.

  13. Ian says:

I can actually see the potential in BD becoming a movie. It is more visually compelling: the wedding, honeymoon, pregnancy and birth (very gruesome, but can work in Quentin Tarantino fashion), vampire Bella, the Volturi and all the new characters…just so much more going on than in, say, New Moon.

  14. Joanna says:

I agree with Ian. And if they ended the movie series with Eclipse, even if they threw in the wedding, there’s still the question of Bella becoming a vampire. I would love to see the courtroom style battle with the Volturi – I’m wondering how they can pull it off visually. With all those BD scenes for that matter.

By the by – if Breaking Dawn becomes a movie – Poor Kristen Stewart. That’s a lot of pain to play.

  15. a.leigh says:

if they make a movie…it should be like a titanic kind of movie, i think. its so long, it would be broken up into different parts.

  16. Sky says:

I’m with Kate, lol, Canadian chick here. Has it been youtubed yet or will we need to wait for awhile?

And as for it being broken down, I’m all for it. Though I’m iffy on the when. Stephenie had a point with the first moment, that sounds good but then again Susan H also has a point. There’s plenty of scenes where it could be the final scene of part one.

I don’t think the worry about interest is valid though, lol. Fans this wild stay wild I think. But then again I don’t speak for the fandom. I hope that the actors do consider it though, I’d love to see it… Gotta wonder how they’ll rate it too, lmao, I don’t think Stephenie will go for an R rating. Pg-14 maybe? How much would they cut if it actually happened? I’ll be there anyway!

  17. urcoolcarrie says:

ha ha! she answered my midsummer nights dream question! yay!

as for the book being cut into two movies, i’m all for it. i think that there is WAY too much information to fit in a 2 1/2 hour movie.

  18. CKitsune says:

Would BD work as a movie though? In my opinion the book was really great to read and visualize…but if it were a movie, could they make it serious enough without imploding in on itself?

I also read the Interview that Meyer gave, (although watching the videos on MTV was A LOT more satisfying than reading her comments) And I even read some of the replies from the readers…

They are STILL complaining about this book.. I feel satisfied by Meyer’s answers… They are HER characters, HER stories… it all makes sense to me…why can’t people stop looking at this book from a LOGICAL point of view, and just look at it through the eyes to be entertained?

The book is already unrealistic what with “Love at First sight.” And yet they enjoyed that aspect…

In the words of the Joker:
    “Why so serious?”

  19. Eponine says:

If they do make a movie, there is NO way they can keep the birthing scene in and get a PG-13 rating. That’s the only thing I would consider changing. The rest….eh. They could make it work.
I agree with Joanna. Poor Kirsten!
I like James Franco as Garrett. That or just bring back Cam Gigandet.*grins*

  20. Izzy says:

Uhh I have no clue where else to ask this but what is up with the forums? I got a message saying that you’ve been hacked and I can’t log in. :s

  21. Ily says:

Oh I loved Stephenie’s answers! And I agree with Eponine about James Franco, wow!

  22. Twilighter Fanpire says:

I’m obsessed with Johnny Depp and does anybody else think he’d be on hot smokin’ vampire? I always picture him as one of the Volturi :D haha

  23. Twilighter Fanpire says:

    Eponine:
It’d be soo awesome if they brough Cam back!! I’d b so happy :D James Franco works too..

  24. Tina says:

I doubt BD will be made a movie. I can’t see Robert Pattenson or Kristen Stewart wanting to do that…They read Virgil for christ’s sake. I mean, I loved BD, but it was totally cheese-tastic. I think if it was a movie though, and they took complete creative liberty, it COULD be awesome. It would need to be seriously adjusted, though. I think BD movie 1 should end right after Alice has her vision. Seems perfect to me, you get all the closure and everything from the pain, then you get the glazed look in her eye, “Volturi” roll credits.. BOOM cliffhanger ending. Then all her stuff can go in the second one. More about her adjusting to being awesome, stuff like that. I felt the second half of BD kind of lost the Bella we had. A second movie could flesh her new self out more.

  25. Lauren says:

Ehhh…I don’t think they should make any more Twilight movies. I mean, the first one can DEFINITELY stand alone and be fantastic, like a cult hit. Plus, the things Kristen would have to do…I don’t know if she’d sign on for the next three films.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this series! But I think making all the books into movies is unecessary. Twilight could be a huge hit on it’s own.

  26. lovemesomecullens says:

I hope, hope, hope that Stephenie will at least write the last scene from Breaking Dawn in Edwards perspective and post it on her website. That was my favorite scene too and I’d love to hear what was going on in Edwards head at that moment. :)

  27. Abegail says:

    The fame got to Stephenie…

  28. Edward Cullen says:

    **Possible Spoiler**

if they were going to split the book at the end of Jacob’s part, then it would probably be better not to show the part with Edward trying to turn Bella, and let the last scene of Bella be a glimpse of her hand falling so you think she died (for people who havent read the books at all that would be good) and have Jacob ready to attack Renesme and just as show the look in his eyes as he’s imprinting and then let the screen go black. dont let it have a nice ending, leave it as a cliffhanger for people to wonder if she died and wondering if Jacob goes nuts.

  29. pinky says:

Im sorry, but with all the backlash, I think this last book might put a stand still on the rest of the movies being made! I guess its a wait and see.

  30. Casey says:

I would love to see Renesmee’s story, but I’d be very interested to see the “Cullen” story. A large part of it being Carlisle, and then a brief look at what happened when each member joined the family. No Bella necessary (although I do like the character).
    Or even Tanya’s story.
Also, I dislike the idea of telling Leah’s story…. I’m sure it would be an excellent, but the wolves are unintersting in comparison to the complexities of the vampires (Just my opinion! I don’t mean to offend anyone).

  31. tw07 says:

Lauren, the whole cast signed on for possible sequels when they signed up for Twilight. That includes Kristen. :)

  32. proud_twihard says:

if they did make it a movie, obviously the wouldn’t have a straight shot at Kristin during the birth, so no worries there…. What I’m more concerned about is how they would differentiate between human Bella and vampire Bella.

  33. tw07 says:

Whoa….comment #31, anti-feminism?! How many strong female characters do we have here? I mean sure, Bella isn’t a “strong” character at first, but no one can be expected to be stronger than who she was surrounded by! And once she was on a more level playing field, she kicked all of their butts! Anti-feminism, oy…people will look for anything to complain about.

  34. Liz says:

I’m not really against Breaking Dawn or any of the books becoming a movie, its just, if they make too many movies it’s going to get like “ANOTHER movie? How can there be ANOTHER?”

Especially for those who haven’t read the books.

  35. kate says:

anyone put it on youtube yet? :(

  36. I posted this to hisgoldeneyes already. I thought you might want to share it too. Have you watched the Twilight spoof trailer yet? It’s by the creators of the Dark Knight spoof, which is hilarious also.

  37. S_M_G says:

Hey Harry Potter is getting all of the series into movies and noone is saying “ANOTHER movie?”

I think if Twilight turns out to be good they will go ahead with the rest.

And yeah, people are STILL complaining about the book. Sigh… It’s a book, if you don’t like it fine, don’t read it again :-)

  38. Drudo says:

Oh, totally agree with ‘SiriusIsSerious’. 100% And I hope that suggesting Josh Holloway as Garrett, doesn’t jinks it. He would totally be perfect. Looks and personality wise!

  39. I love the article.. It is straightforward, it is awesome!! She answered all the questions that I have always wanted to know well except the whole time capsule thing.. I love Breaking Dawn and I am so glad that she wrote it.. I am not done with it yet, but the whole Merchant of Venice really made sense to me I have read and have seen the Play so when she said it was more of a legal battle.. I thought Okay yah that would make sense especially with the witnessess..

  40. Claire Ateara says:

Wow… I just went all the way to MTV.com to watch like 13secs of SM saying something I already knew? LOL! :)

  41. Savanna McCarthy says:

She was negative in this clip. I wish that she had been more extensive . . . even more positive. A movie would be incredible. So much action. And that way you won’t be able to notice the decrease in characterization. I think that the book was made to be a movie . . . I’d prefer it that way, because of how visual it was. I didn’t feel that way with the other books. But they would be great movies too . . .

  42. bronte_replay says:

I think… if they DO make sequels they should just make 2 – combine elements of New Moon and Eclipse and do a “version” of breaking dawn that has a fight scene in the end instead of a check mate. snore.
imho, it’s one thing to visualize all the scenes happening on the big screen. it’s totally another seeing these events paced in a way that make a good movie. plus i don’t see that they have time to make 5 “good” movies total when characters don’t age.

  43. lauhall says:

I think it’s a great idea for two movies, and I kinda agree with her that the first movie ends with the two books, in a way I mean, they can end it with Bella opening her eyes, LOL, can you picture that? she opens her eyes and that’s it, so you know she’s a vampire but nothing else.

  44. kelliexlr says:

o god i am so sick of people being so critical i mean come on!!! i would love to see all the books become movies because i know they would be entertaining and exciting. but if they only do one i will be happy with that too. also if Stephanie doesn’t do anymore books thats ok she ended it perfectly for me at least. (although i would love to hear more from the different characters)

  45. Forever Vampire says:

I think having two movies is a good idea, there is a lot of things happening in breaking dawn, and if they try to put it in one movie they’re going to cut a lot out of it out. Plus, it’s two more hours or so of Rob!

  46. cullen_craver says:

It would be fine as one movie. You have to cut out all the internal dialogue when you make a book into a movie and that shortens it. What takes 25 pages to write can take 5 minutes to act. They may even have to add to it. I think it could be, and hopefully will, make a great movie experience. It can be done in one.

  47. proud_twihard says:

    agreed

  48. sou says:

@ cmt #24 — I totally agree with you. I think Twilight will be totally awesome as a stand alone movie, and we don’t really need to go any farther than that. But.. you know Hollywood just LOVES money, so maybe we’ll get to see New Moon and Eclipse.
But, i really don’t think Rob or Kstew wants to go through breaking dawn.
I see the movie industry just stopping at Eclipse and ending with the wedding scene. (with maybe a hint that Bella WILL be a vampire in the end)
That’s if they even make anymore after twilight at all of course. ^-^

  49. AussieLea says:

I honestly don’t think that Breaking Dawn part one and part two movie will be successful. Just let it alone with “Twilight” to see if it’s really successful or not. I preferred the whole Twilight Saga books than movies…

  50. Lauren says:

    #32 – Hahaha, she’s in for an…interesting ride then.
