For those of you just catching up here, the Lexicon was deliberately and maliciously hacked on Friday night, by people who didn’t like the posting policy on our forums. Stating that they were championing free speech by taking our site down they destroyed 99% of the blog and about 90% of the forums. Yes, our mind boggles too. Nonetheless, we are moving on. We could be angry and bitter, but that really wouldn’t solve anything. So, we are back. If this site is what you are looking for, fantastic. We are happy to provide something that works for you. If it’s not, no hard feelings. There are a ton of other Twilight sites out there. Check out Stephenie Meyer’s official site, there are at least 30 possibilities there and even more if you do a little exploring on Google.
Lastly, please bear with us was we get everything back in working order. We are probably going to be switching over to a new 3 column skin for the blog, so we aren’t putting too much into the design of this one since it’s a temp, but we really wanted to have something up rather than nothing. We are still working on resurrecting the forums, we hope to have them up in a secure fashion later this week. We have to make sure they are as hack proof as we can get them before we have to deal with this all over again.
If you are looking for the character bios, timeline, personal correspondences, etc. they are all back and not one word, typos and all have been changed. You can find them under the tab at the top above the picture labeled "The Lexicon". We’ve seen a lot of people saying "the Lexicon correspondence said…" and then we have been misquoted. You can see for yourself what is there, and if you don’t believe us check out Wayback Machine and they will confirms it.
Last, but not least, thanks to the support we have received from hundreds of individual emails, and from other sites. It’s just when something like this happens, that I completely understand how I love my Lex. I seriously didn’t know what other website to visit. None of them even compare to the Lex. I’m SO glad you’re back! And yeah, that e-mail pissed me off. A lot. The thing that annoyed me the most was the little smile next to ‘your website has been hacked’. Ugh.

I’m glad you’re back too! I was new to the site, and then suddenly it was gone! Glad everything is getting worked out, and hackers are just immature. They need to find something better and more productive to do with their time.

I’m so glad it’s back! I tried to get on Saturday night but a screen popped up that said it was temporarily down. I just thought that they were remodeling the site or something. Then I got an e-mail from the hackers this morning that said the Lex was hacked! I was so confused, but now I get it. Thank you to all of the people that are working so hard to get the Lex back up to par!!!!! Luv you guys!!!!!!!!1

Hehe, I got an email from the hackers saying “Your site was hacked” and I was like “Well nothing new there” (I’ve been online a long time, and people like to hack things) and then I came to see how bad it was and everything was gone. Ohh man. That was a pretty big hack. lol
So yeah, welcome back peeps.

I got an email from the hackers too. I was all like “wtf?” and then I tried to go on the Lex and it wouldn’t work, so I freaked out.

I’m glad that you are back online. To let the monitors of twlightlexicon know, I was sent an email that from their forum address. Inside it said “You’ve been hacked
” With it was a nasty virus that would have really harmed my computer if it wasn’t for my IT husband. Right after I opened that email, my computer started to act funny and at that point he fixed it. So, users who has their personal emails in the twilightlexicon system, be careful. To those who did it, shame on you!!!! 
Yay! I’m so glad your back. I was so upset when I read that you had been hacked. What is wrong with people! Thank you for hosting an amazing site! I don’t know what I would do without my daily Lexicon fix.
just out of curiosity, anyone know if our profiles are gone for good and that we’re going to have to make completely new ones? i really hope not. im staying either way, but i really hope they are able to revive our existing profiles.

I’m so glad that the Lex is back and up and running. I know it will likely take a while before everyhting is back to normal and the forums are up again but good luck with everything and take as much time as you need, it is completely understandable.
I am a bit upset that you are taking the high road though. I would have liked to have personally thanked those hackers via email you know once you accidently on purpose leaked the email.
I am glad that you guys are working things out! I really still can’t believe this happened to you all. I hope you keep up the hard work and don’t let the hacker get to you. Because you have many people standing with you. You are amazing.

Well. Ive missed the Lex. But luckily ive been so busy working and hanging out with my friends lately that i haven’t even had time to check my email let alone come on here and chat so it wasn’t as bad for me as it must have been for others.

Oy. I had the email in my inbox this morning. I’m really upset that people would take something that’s not theirs. Hacking is very immature. To punish an entire forum from behind a computer is extremely cowardly, time consuming, money-involved for the website owners and downright rude to everyone involved. Like anprescott up there said…I believe in karma and I hope that what comes around goes around with these fools.
Thank you to the mods for keeping this place up and safe. It’s looking great and I can’t wait to get back in to post.

Alison – might be better to leave some terms out of your insults as i doubt all of our members are straight and the last thing this board needs right now are comments like that. that goes right along with the person stating the hacker must be a girl. i dont care if the hacker was male or female, gay or straight, white or green. it was total garbage. but please lets not insult genders, races, or lifestyles.

Ahh! When I got the email from the hackers, I completely freaked and had all my friends double check to make sure it was real. Those people need a maturity growth hormone or something. But I’m so glad you’re back! That whole fiasco put me in a really worrying tizzy.
