After traveling through 9 airports on three different airlines, three time zones, endless amounts of hours, as well as a temperature drop of about 40 degrees, Alphie, Ambereyes, BeMyEscape and Cocoa found their way to Portland and the set of Twilight the movie. Here is a sneak peak of some of the amazing things they saw. Many thanks to BeMyEscape for editing the photos together. *Edit- Just to clear a few things up. The pictures were taken at Indian Beach which is the stand in for La Push. The day we were there they were filming all the scenes for La Push. Yes we do have more information, however it takes time to put it all together so please be patient. Lastly in one of the pictures you can see Kristen, Taylor and Catherine before filming a scene.
It’s a different beach but it’s gonna be “La Push” in the movie, dazzled.

I can’t believe I’m the first one to point this out, but they filmed in the same location as they did for most of the outdoor scenes in The Goonies (best movie ever btw). In fact, the first picture is identical to a shot from the movie, when they’re looking at the rocks to match up with the dabloom.
The fact that there will be a little of The Goonies in Twilight makes me very happy.

What was that circular thing at 1:00? I’m guessing a Native American accessory of some sort?
Is it just me or did the very first shot of the video look like the ocean from the goonies. The one where the kid holds up a key hole thing and the rock patterns match the holes? I don’t know it just looked really familiar to me!
Also, the Goonies was shot in Astoria, OR, which is only about 90 miles away from Portland.
The circular thing is actually Solomon’s Drum. It was used in a scene and looked to be decorated by hand.
anne- it is the same place. that was cannon beach, or. where i live. i went to the set that day with 2 of my friends and we saw solomon singing an indian song being filmed, but we went later in the day when the weather cleared up (and school got out lol) but the only recognizable people we saw were solomon and justin chon. we got his autograph. yay! the base camp was close to my house, so we went there and saw christian.(angela) the filming was so awesome! i know cannon beach is the perfect la push! (almost as perfect as the real thing…)

all I can say is wow!!!!!! Sam is really hot!! The pics of him that came out when he was first cast did not do him justice!! And I love his hair! To cut it off would be a waist! And Tayler looking hot as always as our favorite werewolf! I like the guy who’s playing embry! He seems silly like embry would! The way he’s all eager to be in the pic! So cute!
oh and by the way, I am sure that Muse is now one of my new favorite bands! Stephenie has great taste in music!!

I freaking hate when ppl diss Twilight. I mean, it is fine that you don’t like it (more Edward for me, ohh yeah), but you don’t need to go out of your way to say that it sucks and that Stephenie is a bad author. It just angers me. My inner werewolf is starting to come out. Roar!

I hope they don’t cut Sam’s hair even if it’s in the movie (do you know how long that would take to grow back???) I don’t think its that big a deal that they would make him hack it off (although if they cut Sam’s hair then they could let Jacob/Taylor wear his hear short which is much hotter than the wig) but ya.
I love Taylor as Jacob. I was soo nervous when time for casting him began (not as nervous as when they were casting Edward but still) I think Steven Straight would be hot as Jacob but seriously do you think he could pull of a 15/16 year old??? no way.. I think Taylor will “grow up” enough if they film New Moon (which come on they will) but he will be perfect. he’s hot!

I think they are having a very civil discussion about the series. Most of them have read the books and seem to be well-informed and well-read. Personally, I think they are carrying on a smarter discussion about the books than most Twilight fans are about the series. Also, it’s not like they are going on Twilight sites and bashing it on those sites, which would be a whole other issue. They are not looking to piss off Twilight fans. There’s no need to "inform" them or whatever. You need to open up your mind and realize that not everyone is going to like Twilight and that there is no need to make everyone see how awesome Twilight is or force it down their throats.
You know in 1:04 doesn’t Jacob look so sexy or is it just me, he should just leave his hair like that (in a cap) for the whole movie…and some.

It seems to me that some Twilight fans will waste their time trying to force everyone to like Twilight and getting worked up about other people not liking it (e.g., posting a non-Twilight fansite link about people discussing the book so that we Twilight fans can inform them)…I can’t decide whether that is sadder or funnier…
Why can’t people criticize Twilight or write about their not-so-positive opinion of it without being dissed or looked down upon by hardcore Twilight fans? As long as they are not doing it on the Lexicon or other Twilight sites, who are we to judge?
I find it kind of sad that the Twilight fandom is fast becoming a cult (in the negative sense of the word), with a lot of fans becoming increasingly close-minded and even mindless.
P.S. I’ve been meaning to say that I can’t wait for more of the Lexicon’s on set stories and pictures (and maybe videos? hint, hint
