Filming Site Revealed
Posted by pelirroja - 19/01/08 at 10:01 amAccording to TDN, that serves the Columbia Valley, the Twilight movie will be using Kalama High School as a shooting location during the school’s spring break. Whether or not Forks High School will be used at all is not at this time known. They may use Forks HS for exterior shots, but this high school for interiors.
Also, while I am at it, yes we are aware of the rumors circulating around the net. At this time they are just that–rumors. I wouldn’t put too much stock in anything until it is officially released by Stephenie or Summit. In other words, do the words "Colton Haynes" and staying up until 3:00am for Tory’s big announcement ring any bells?
Lastly, the fact that Summit is having an open casting for Jacob Black does not mean other parts have not been cast. It means they just haven’t announced it. Remember that movies are not shot in chronological order. Jacob has a small part in Twilight. It is not a big deal not to have that part at this point.

What makes me all the more cut is that this school looks almost the same as mine! My school is also a 3 story, 600ish peopled, brick high school….
if only it was 10,000 km’s or so north… lol

I’m so excited, i can’t wait untill the whole cast is announced, and they start filmming, it’s going to be an amazing movie.
INTERVENTION:
1. Colton Haynes is not Edward, he never was Edward. That was a false casting rumor of which there have been many. Robert Pattinson is Edward, signed contract and all.
2. I just read this entire thing, no one has said this school is full of hicks or any other derogitory term, if there had been we would have removed it. We are very glad those of you who go to the school are here and willing to describe your school, and encourage you to continue, however please stop accusing poeple of doing something they are not.
Be respectful to one another.

Wow, only about 650 students at KHS with high school and Jr. high students COMBINED?! That’s..wow. I can’t even imagine it. I go to a school with some 3,000 kids…and that’s just high school! Eeek. I’m just so excited that everything is finally moving along in the movie and I can’t wait for the entire cast to be..well, cast!

AHHH i cant wait!!!! i think they have been keeping things from us, and possibly stephanie… they MUST know the WHOLE cast by now. if they a starting to film the movie in febuary… arggg whyyy wouldnt they tell us??? there is no good reason.
i heard there was this girl who her aunt works for summit and she told this girl who was in teh cast, but she wont tell anyone!!!!!! although she says the alice and rosalie picks are good. i am not sure if i beileve her, has anyone else heard about this???

hmm…i am a tad annoyed that we haven’t been told the rest of the cast, however, i do love surprises!
I think that girl who has an “aunt who works for summit” and supposedly knows who the whole cast is but can’t tell us is just an attention whore.
Finally, they give us a hint of what some of the things we will be seeing in the movie! I think they made a good choice of picking this school for the forks high school scenes. I can’t wait until the movie is completed!
I doubt that girl knows anything.

AAAAAA!!! This is so exciting! I live about an hour away from KHS in Portland, OR (P-Town, baby!) Does anyone know where in Portland they will be shooting? And what’s with the 18+ for extras thing? I would LOVE to be an extra…
I love how the weather always seems to be cloudy. The parking is like I had imagined it.

Well as excited as I am, I was slighly upset at how lucky those students and Oregon/Wsahington natives are… well until I read some of the posts and realized I’m not the only one:]

Yeah, is Alphie alright? Not to intrude, I know she has a life, but it seems like we haven’t heard from her in awhile.
From the pictures, Kalama looks like the very epitome of “prestigious high school” which Forks High School is NOT (in the books, at least) but hey, what can you do, I suppose.
ANYWAY, I’m so excited! If they can pull it off, this movie is going to be absolutely awesome.
If from the Kalama Highschool page you go to About Us and then City of Kalama you can see some good pictures of the town. It looks nice, maybe they’ll even do some filming of other scenes while they’re in the area.

I think KHS, from the pictures I’ve seen of it, looks like a nice, regular high school.
I don’t think it looks like “the epitome of a prestigious high school.” I guess it’s all relative. Think about how the high school from High School Musical looked–that looked very modern, and a bit more of what I’d call prestigious looking.

The Extras have to be 18+!!!!??? WHAT!!!!! The school is some what like I imagined Forks High, but I thought that the buildings were seperate??
well, they can’t have everything perfect. But, they’re only using KHS for the interior, I thought. And, yeah, I’m trying to figure out the whole 18+ thing. Je ne comprends pas! I can only find applications for extras 18 and older.
I know this is really random, but I was about two hours away from Forks today (!!!) and I couldn’t help but squee the whole time!
…It didn’t help that I had Eclipse at my side…reading it for the 431251xx time.

I’m Madi, and I only live 142 miles away (I’m in Seattle) so I might go to Kalama just to see the school… but I might go to Forks instead. Who knows. I think that Cristian Bale would be an amazing Jasper, and that he should DEFINATELY be in the movie! And Gerard Way would have rocked it as Edward, too bad he isn’t an actor…. The whole 18+ extra thing SUCKS, I look like I’m about 20, but I’m only 13. Seriously, I look way older than I am, but in a good way. I could TOTALLY pull off a high school student, easy as pie! Hmph, my good mood was just spoiled. I’m gonna go re-read Eclipse now. See ya.
Alphie is fine. She is very busy staring in plays and taking care of two children, aging parents, and a husband.
One additional side note. The 18+ rule is so that they don’t have to deal with child labor laws. They will be shooting on a very tight schedule and thus pulling some long hours. Regardless of what you think you can handle, they must obey the law. And casting underage actors and extras means double and triple the shooting time.

I love Twilight it is awesome but I hated the part where Bella gotten hurt by James.I also can’t beliveve that Edwared is a vampire.

I live about an hour south of Kalama, and I’ve passed through several times, but never really noticed it before…
Must.. plan… road trip…. *squee!!!* I dare say my freinds and I could go visit it sometime. I’ve looked at the pics too, and it looks like a good place for Twilight. I mean, the NWest rocks! But why didn’t they start fliming earlier? Winter’s going into the cold+bright stage now, unless the weather is dramatically different 60 miles N of me… It needs to be cloudy most of the time. Oh well, WOOHOO!!!
They start filming Feb. 25th right? I think that’s perfect, since Bella first came to Forks in the winter.
I’m from Ontario, Canada though, I’m usually under 5 feet of snow around that time…what’s February like in that part of the USA???
