Summit Entertainment has now officially listed Twilight in its pre-production section. They also have a poster mock-up that is heavily based on the original book cover (this is not to say it is the final poster design.).
Some highlights from their description: " Based on the #1 New York Times Bestselling series by Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT is a cultural phenomenon, with a fanatic fanbase that eagerly awaits this movie. D That’s pretty much insanely awesome. The movie actually feels so close now. Wow 
I agree!! It feels like it’s actually going to happen! I’m very excited to see more progress on this project. I like that the movie poster is the same as the cover of Twilight- it gives hope that the movie will follow the book closely.

I just really hope they stick close to the book unlike how the Harry Potter movies turned out…even the tiniest of things is was makes Twilight such an amazing book!

Note they may not be changing the plot too radically, sometimes they phrase a “good guys vs. bad guys” thing in overly simplified terms just to executive and others interested on a broad appeal basis.

It says U.S. release, does this mean they are only releasing it in the U.S.? If it does I think I will scream. Or just order it on the interent when it comes out on DVD. Yeah, I don’t really like the way it’s worded on the site though, it sounds a bit cheesy.
I reaaaalllly hope they remember Victoria, especially since she is such an important factor in New Moon and Eclipse, but other than that, i think they have the right idea…oh and Bella chose to leave her mother, was not sent away by her (it’s not all that important, but i’m a stickler for detail)

Yay! I would love if they used a variation of the original artwork. I don’t think they’ll use the actual image on the book. I mean, they’ll update it. I would rather it be a swanky movie version of the hands and the apple. I’d be mad if they changed it to something lame. This is good.
They’ll update it. They’re just in prepro, they probably don’t even have an art director or anything like that yet.

The only issue is that in the synopsis it says that Renee sent Bella to live with Charlie, but it really was her choice. I hope they don’t make renee out to be one of those mothers!

Yay!!!! can’t wait till the movie of course. and Kristina Cullen, i read the movie is coming out in 2010. kind of sucks we have to wait till then, but oh well, twilight at least going to be a movie.

And here I was, all happy and excited about how quickly this movie stuff is coming about. Though, really, they could hurry up the cast a bit. I know everyone’s waiting to hear who will play that one special role. =O
Anyway, I like the cover, but perhaps they can tweak it up a slight bit so it’s more original. But it’s still brilliant. =]
Oh, and awww, I don’t want it to beat Harry Potter! They’re both excellent works by excellent authors. = D Cheers to both of them! =)
