Bestseller Update

With all the signings and podcasting I got distracted and forgot to update the New Moon Status on the New York Times Beseller List

New Moon is holding its position on the New York Times Bestseller List  in the number one position again this week. That makes seven weeks total on the list. To read the NY Times web site you have to create a free account there.

Week One:       Five

Week Two:       One

Week Three:   One

Week Four:      One

Week Five:      One

Week Six:       One

Week Seven: One

It should also be noted that Twilight is number three on the paperback bestseller list and has been on that list for awhile. Unfortunately, I didn’t clue into this right away so I can’t give accurrate information regarding its various positions on the list.

is the bestseller list the children’s bestseller list or the normal ny times bestseller list? just a question i have been wondering about.

Children’s chapter books. There is no distinction for YA books. It’s ahead of popular books such as Eldest, and Harry Potter.

  3. Kala says:

The Twilight paperback was at #4 the 2nd week it was on and since week three it has held the #3 spot. So far it has been on the list for six weeks. Sorry, I don’t know what spot it was on when it first came on the list. Hope this helps.

This is awesome and totally deserving, I mean why shouldn’t New Moon be number one?

  5. vampire_chick22 says:

Yay! Congrats Stephenie! Both Twilight and New Moon really deserve to be where they are right now! The only way it could get better would be if Twilight could be #1 too!

  6. Afton says:

    I loved it!

  7. niciannon says:

Why would there be a distinction between hardback and paperback in regards to ratings?

  8. Dawn whelpley says:

I agree with Niciannon If you love it you will get it no matter what it is like I did I was low on money so I bought the paper back because I wanted the book soooooooo badly

  9. nanotec says:

“Why would there be a distinction between hardback and paperback in regards to ratings?”

Some people are more likely to buy a paperback because it’s cheaper. (I’m the opposite in most cases. I’d rather have the hardback.) Plus, a lot of books come out in hardback first, then paperback a year later (like Twilight), so the paperback list is almost like a second release of the book. But basically, paperbacks and hardbacks sell differently, so they don’t want to compare them–like not wanting to compare apples and oranges. So they have a separate apple (paperback) list and and orange (hardback) list. *shrugs* Silly NY Times! :)
