Update on Stephenie’s Website

The StephenieMeyer.com website was just updated. According to webmaster Seth:

Stephenie’s publicist Elizabeth asked me to post the following announcement:

It has come to our attention that there are several people on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook pretending to be Stephenie. The only site besides StephenieMeyer.com that Stephenie has is a MySpace site at www.myspace.com/stephenie_meyer. Only announcements on this website and Stephenie’s official MySpace page should be considered legitimate. Please note, due to the overwhelming number of e-mails she receives on her MySpace page, Stephenie is unable to answer e-mails.

Also, Stephenie is aware of the numerous Twilight conventions happening next year. It is exciting to see so many fans wanting to celebrate the books together. However, these conventions are not authorized or endorsed by Stephenie and she will not be attending any of the conventions. We hope that fans enjoy the conferences, but wanted to make this distinction so people weren’t spending money under the assumption that Stephenie would be in attendance.

The other bit of fabulous news that the update mentions is that at long last the sheet music for the Twilight movie is available!  You can see the story behind it on composer Carter Burwell’s website, and you can buy it at Amazon.

Book and Author News

Stephenie has landed on Time Magazine’s People Who Mattered list for 2008.

Stephenie has also won over another celebrity fan in Rosario Dawson. It looks like the books are her brand of heroin crack cocaine.

The Twilight Movie Around the Globe

Hard to believe I know, but the movie is just about to open in some locations.  Here’s some of the global coverage.

Fans at Work

Want to make a Twilight mystery quilt?  Find out how to do it here. What is a mystery quilt? According to organizer Heather:

"We always do a quilt series each year, and starting in 2009, we will be doing a Twilight Mystery Quilt, completely free online.  A mystery quilt is a quilt that you complete  with secret clues/instructions each month.  Once you receive your last set of clues, you end up realizing how the quilt should look.  It is a rather neat way to do a project."

Remember to swing by Twilight Series Theories if you want to help out on their Belting it Out for Billy project. Billy Burke needs some Twilight love!

The fansites are pulling together for a project for Stephenie’s birthday. We’re letting her know why her characters rock. Every fansite has a different character or group of characters. The Lexicon has the Voluturi.

So if you want to participate in this project here’s what you do. We’re making a video. By December 20, send a Volturi themed photo, graphic, or a brief quote as to why they rock to [email protected]

If you have questions you can also

E! Yo ho, yo ho!  Rumors are circulating that Rob may be needing to find his sea legs. If it proves true, hopefully the stunt work will be easier than vampire baseball.

The potential SAG strike just got uglier today with different groups of A-list celebrities coming out on each side. What’s particularly interesting is that there are actors who normally are on different sides of the political fence who agree on whether to strike or not. Past guild presidents are chiming in. One thing’s for sure the next SAG meeting is going to be interesting. Let’s hope they settle differences, or the least of the problems surrounding the New Moon movie will be casting it.

The Poll That Asks All The Questions

Lots of different places like People magazine, ExtraTV, and countless other sites have up polls and petitions regarding the casting of Jacob Black, but it seems to us that they are missing the finer points of fan opinion because they haven’t read the books to totally understand why the recasting might be a conversation to begin with. MTV gets it because Larry Carrol has actually read the books, but doesn’t have a poll going.

So we give you our own poll which we think hits all the areas that are concerning the fans.

Fans Showing Movie Love

Twilight Series Theories is starting a "Belting It Out For Billy" campaign.  According to TST, "We know that many of the actors in Twilight have gotten a lot of attention lately for their roles in the movie, and rightly so. But one of the stand-out performances that we here at TST have really loved is that of Billy Burke. Billy plays Charlie in the film and we really think that he deserves some love for bringing some comic relief, as well as a lot of heart, to the role…To show some recognition to this great actor, we are creating a new campaign called “Belting in Out for Billy Burke!” Since Billy was once in a band, we want to put together a video of the fans singing about all of the reasons they love him."

Via YouTube, here’s a great holiday inspired movie parody. For whatever reason it doesn’t want to embed, go figure. Here is the direct link.
