Chaske Spencer Encourages Voter Participation

Chaske Spencer is leading an initiative to encourage greater voter participation among Native peoples.

Chaske Spencer, Native American actor most known for his role in the Twilight movie saga, is a supporter of the 2012 Native Vote – http://www.NativeVote.org – a national non-partisan campaign of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), focused on registering voters, getting out the vote, and protecting the right to vote in Native American communities. With close to a million unregistered voters, NCAI is making an effort to turn out the largest Native vote in history. Visit http://www.NativeVote.org to learn how to get involved and make every vote count!

Chaske is also active in raising awareness to issues effecting Indian Country through his organization Be the Shift (http://www.unitedglobalshift.org/).

We are not a site here that takes political sides; however, the Lexicon supports the idea that voter participation is important no matter where you live and it’s freedom to be celebrated and used to effect change.
