CNN has an article up on the Twilight fan experience. They quoted various people at the Creation Entertainment Twilight Tour stop in Atlanta from fans, to the costume replica designer John Henson, to us.
” The fans are fervent enough that “Twilight” conventions will likely go on for years, Joffs said, “A woman picks up the book, expects it to be nothing much, kind of rolls her eyes, and then they get completely sucked in. It’s something about that book, something about the way Stephanie Myers(sic) wrote the books. I can’t see it dying down anytime soon.”
The article is basically good, but there are a couple of inaccuracies, for example this didn’t happen as they lock the building at night, we admit we are crazy fans, but we haven’t held any sit-ins. “Followers of the teen vampire romance also earned a reputation last year for claiming seats at Comic-Con — the huge San Diego-based sci-fi, fantasy and comic book convention — a day in advance and then not moving a muscle.”
And this part we giggled at, Lori wasn’t driven to Twilight because of her divorce, that was a coincidence that happened two and half years into running the site (45 minutes of questions waxing eloquent about female driven media and they quote they last comment when asked in passing “what do you do for a living”)….sometime you just have to laugh, you never know what reporters will pick up on.
