The OKI Twilight Fan Club is having a charity event for the midnight release of the Twilight movie. Funds raised from the event will go to The Center for Women and Families. According to event organizers,
"OKI chose this particular charity because we felt that it held true with Edwards respect for Bella through the series. Though his adoration at times has been touted as slightly unrealistic, it has given females around the world a reason to stand up and say "I deserve to be treated better." For those women who have been abused and sexually assaulted, The Center for Women and Families provides that same mentality, you are better and deserve better."
