Charlie Bewley and Bill Tangradi Talk Working with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

USA Weekend interviewed Bill Tangradi and Charlie Bewley at the Creation Entertainment Official Twilight Convention in Virginia. They talked about everything from meeting fans, to getting involved in a large franchise film, to Rob and Kristen:

“So there I was hanging out with some of the cast of Twilight. I had to ask what Pattinson was like in real life. And the guys ran with that one.

“He’s really dreamy,” Tangradi quips.

“He moonwalks on water on one foot,” Bewley jokes. “Can you imagine?”

Then they got serious.

“I found Rob to be really charming,” Tangradi says. “I didn’t have too many encounters with him because I left him alone. He was really self-deprecating and giggly. He laughs a lot under his breathe.”

“Unfortunately, he’s in this position where he has to entertain everyone around him all the time,” adds Bewley, who has gotten to work with him a lot longer. “He takes that burden on him and I’ve seen it kind of progress, from the first time I chatted with – him being like, ‘What is this thing around me? This is so ridiculous. I just want to go home and make music’ – to where he is now. He’s a stand-up guy and he’s completely comfortable in his surroundings wherever that might be.”

And where you have Rob, you have Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella, Pattinson’s on-screen love interest — and reportedly off-screen as well.

“I’ve always found her kind of endearing,” Bewley says. “Her awkwardness is wonderful.”

Xavier Samuel and Sharks

E! talked to Xavier Samuel and his next project:

“OK, Xavier Samuel didn’t exactly come face-to-face with Jaws, but his upcoming flick Bait 3D sounds like it has the potential of being a guilty pleasure hoot.

“It’s about a bunch of people trapped in a supermarket that’s flooded,” Samuel said earlier this week at the Glamour magazine and Louis Vuitton event in Beverly Hills. “There also happens to be sharks in the water. It’s like Snakes on a Plane but with sharks in a supermarket.”

Really?

“When I read it, I thought it was a great farce and this hilarious scenario,” Samuel said. “I was like, ‘This has to be fun to do.’ It was great. I was wielding a pump-action shotgun at a mechanical shark and thinking, ‘This has nothing to with acting at all.’ I had a blast.

Stevie Nicks Mentions Twilight Again

According to Contact Music:

“The Fleetwood Mac star admits she has been hooked on the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s hit books ever since she saw 2009’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and she feels an affinity with Bella Swan over her romance with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.

Nicks tells Harper’s Bazaar magazine, “I saw New Moon when I was on tour with Fleetwood Mac. When Bella just sat there in the window, crying for months because she thought she’d never see him again…

“It’s happened to me twice, when there was no explanation. It was just over.”

This isn’t the first time Stevie Nicks has mentioned Twilight. We told you back in November how it inspired a song on her new CD being released on May 3, 2011. back then Stevie stated:

“I had written a song in Brisbane, Australia when I was on tour with Fleetwood Mac in 2009 called ‘Moonlight — A Vampire’s Dream’ which was inspired by the ‘New Moon’ film. When I finished writing that song, which came together really quickly, I knew the time was right to start recording. We had a core group of five people who were at the heart of the creation of ‘In Your Dreams.’ Dave and myself, my longtime friend and musical director, Waddy Wachtel, and my girls, Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks. It was a perfect blend…”

Chaske Spencer Helps Kansas Area Tribe

According to the Topeka Capital Journal, Chaske Spencer has been helping a local tribe leading workshops on for local youth and their families on several areas of need.

“Chiefs of police for the Kickapoo, Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, Iowa Tribe, and the Sax and Fox joined forces to bring Spencer to Kansas.

“I went to a conference in Palm Springs last December,” said Kickapoo Police Chief Gordon Smith. “Chaske Spencer was a speaker.”

Smith said he came back to Kansas and spoke to the other police chiefs about bringing the actor to the area.

“The guy has been phenomenal,” Smith said. “He is not your typical actor. He goes out and sits with the kids, poses for photos. He is a totally different person, as far as actors go.”

Kellan Lutz’s The Immortals Trailer Release

Peter Facinelli Talks About His Exploding Fanbase

The New York Post spoke to Peter Facinelli about his fanbase:

PW: With “Nurse Jackie” and the “Twilight” films raising your profile are you finding that the fanbase is changing as well?
Peter: What’s fun for me is that fans are now going back and discovering my older work. To see the different things I’ve done. It’s opened up the door for them to enjoy the eclectic performances I’ve put together over the years.

PW: So, Mike Dexter lives on?
Peter: [laughs] He definitely lives on. Actually I was at the supermarket and some guy came up to me and said, “you’re in movies, right? What movie are you in?” I said,” Um, ‘Twilight?’” and he goes, “No … ‘Can’t Hardly Wait!’ You’re Mike Dexter!” [laughs] I loved that. So Mike definitely lives on and it’s such a compliment to have done a character 12 years ago that’s still etched in people’s minds. To me that means I did a good job.

PW: Would you like the chance to go back and revisit a character you’ve previously played to bring the second part of their story to life?
Peter: I feel like everything I’ve done has been complete. Well, “Fastlane” went out on a cliffhanger, that was a really fun character for me. I always thought it would be cool to do a movie. Everything else has been pretty complete. Well … there is 300 years of history to Carlisle Cullen before he even started this family. There’s a lot to that character, it could be fun to explore that.”

Peter Facinelli Talks Breaking Dawn Wedding to EW

EW talked to Peter Facinelli about the current season of Nurse Jackie and Breaking Dawn:

Anything you can tease to us about it? I hear the wedding scene is grand.
The wedding scene, first of all, was really beautiful. The way the set was decorated, the way they lit it. It’s in the backyard of the Cullen house, and they utilized the space really well. For us as actors, it was hard because it was raining the whole time we shot, but you’ll never see it on film. For us, it was raining and muddy, but on film, it will look beautiful. In the baseball sequence [from the first movie], it rained the whole time, but you can’t tell.

How did you magically stay dry?
It’s very difficult. I remember the first day [on the first film], we were in the midst of shooting, and they said [to the director Catherine Hardwicke], ‘”What do you want to do Catherine?” So they started passing out baseball hats to anyone whose hair looked too wet. It was movie magic; you never see it. It has to rain really hard for it to read on film.

Give me a visual tease of the wedding, for the wedding geeks, like yours truly.
It looks very magical. It was a real treat to be able to watch the two of them get married. It was a longtime coming, this wedding. It didn’t disappoint me when we shot it, so I think it will be magical.”

Literary Scout Who “Discovered Twilight” May Win Case

The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive:

“Remember Nanette Shipley? She’s the literary scout who claimed credit for discovering and helping a company called Maverick Films launch films, Twilight and The Lighting Thief. Now comes word that Shipley has demonstrated to a Los Angeles Superior Court judge that she is likely to prevail in her claims. As a result, the judge has granted Shipley’s request to freeze $100,000 of Maverick’s assets pending the outcome of the lawsuit.

As we reported in February, Shipley alleged that she helped Maverick find and obtain the rights to both motion pictures. She said she was promised $75,000 for her work in connection with Twilight and $100,000 for her work in connection with The Lighting Thief, and was owed all but $20,000 of the total amount.

According to the attorneys for both parties, a few days before a Superior Court hearing on the matter, Maverick sent over a $55,000 check to satisfy what was owed to Shipley for Twilight.”

This case should proved to be an interesting one as there are a lot of players involved here. Maverick has changed hands several times ( it was initially launched by Madonna of all people). More recently it underwent a name change and is now Imprint, a name you will find in Twilight film end credits. Maverick films obtained the rights to the production and then worked with Summit to actually get Twilight made, and now works with them under the Imprint moniker.

Summit isn’t directly involved in this one. Think of Maverick/Imprint like a subcontractor.  Summit presumably thought Maverick had appropriately obtained all rights and paid its staff. In other words, call Summit the owner of a condo complex. Let’s say they need a new pool for the complex and they contract with some firm to do that. It’s that subcontracted firm’s responsibility so see that it’s workers are paid correctly, not the guy who owns the condo.

Rumor Control: Will there REALLY be more Twilight books/movies????

We’ve watched the news feeds all day covering the topic of more Twilight centric books and movies centered around the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee.  It all started when MTV asked Taylor Lautner about the possibility of continuing on in the role of Jacob Black if Stephenie wrote more novels.  You can watch the interview below to see exactly how this rumor got started but here is how we can break it down for you.

YEARS ago, and we do mean YEARS ago, Stephenie told fans that Breaking Dawn was the end of Edward and Bella’s story.  She hinted that should she ever return to the Twilight universe the stories would center around Jacob and Renesmee as well as Leah because those stories aren’t finished.  I can’t stress enough that she said this YEARS ago.  This is not “new” news for fans that have been in the fandom pre-Twilight Movie.

Now jump ahead to the international fan junket that was held last month and was covered by the USA Today .  The fans at the junket asked Stephenie about Jacob and Renesmee and she said, and I quote,  “That is a question I’m reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I’ll go back to their story.”

Now, fast forward to Josh Horowitz saying, “Stephenie has recently hinted at perhaps maybe she would explore more of Jacob and Renesmee’s relationship at some point.”  To which Taylor Lautner responds, “Really? Breaking news to me live on MTV.”  To which the whole of the Twilight news reporting world took to mean MTV had a scoop that Stephenie is writing more books and they will feature Jacob and they will be made into movies starring Taylor Lautner.

Do we all want more Twilight stories – sure.  I’d love to read about Jacob and Renesmee.  But are they really going to happen – it’s a toss up.  Personally, I feel if we ever do get another Twilight related book it will be years and years from now after Stephenie has stepped away from the world of Forks and done a few others things.   By the time any type of Twilight related book is even possibly published, Taylor and every other current member of the cast would be too old to portray their teenage character.  It’s a great dream, but one that is a long shot.

So for now, just concentrate on the fact that we still have two more movies to go!  And hopefully, someday, in the distant future, we might have another Twilight related title to read should Stephenie feel it’s time to revisit that universe.

Additional Breaking Dawn Footage Shot in The Caribbean

Over the weekend Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart shot what is presumably extra Isle Esme footage in St. Thomas. The website Mr. Pattinson has the following write-up and a ton of pictures (one seen above). We’re not sure if they are the source of this quote because it sounds more like it came from a publication than a fansite (so if someone can tell us the original let us know so we can attribute it correctly), but here is the description: “Robert Pattinson and real-life love Kristen Stewart mark the end of the hugely successful Twilight franchise, shooting the sexy last scenes of the sagas final movie, Breaking Dawn, in the Caribbean. Under cover of darkness, the couple spent nearly three hours in the sea in a secluded cove, shooting hotly-anticipated love scenes between their characters, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan…”
