To Dream the Dream: Twilight Style

Today marks the six year anniversary of the dream that sparked Twilight.  From there is was another year and a half until the books started to reach shelves in fall 2005. Can you believe this all started six years ago?

” I know the exact date that I began writing Twilight, because it was also the first day of swim lessons for my kids. So I can say with certainty that it all started on June 2, 2003. Up to this point, I had not written anything besides a few chapters (of other stories) that I never got very far on, and nothing at all since the birth of my first son, six years earlier.

I woke up (on that June 2nd) from a very vivid dream. In my dream, two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately. Quileute Nation Hires PR Professional

We just received the follwoing press release:

The Quileute Tribe of LaPush, WA has retained the services of Jackie Jacobs of JTalentgroup as Tribal Publicist.  Due to the increasing interest and attention cast on the tribe from the popularity of the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer, it was necessary to seek the services of a professional Public Relations firm.

“It was important for us to partner with a Native based organization that we feel identifies with and respects our core values of “Respect our land/Protect our culture,” but who also understands that we appreciate and want to make welcome people from all around the world seeking information about our people and land.” We feel we have achieved that partnership with Jackie Jacobs, states Tribal Chairwoman, Carol Hatch.

Jackie Jacobs is the founder and principal of JTalentgroup, a Seattle based Native owned full service entertainment agency specializing in Public Relations, Marketing Consulting and Talent Management services.  Jackie is an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.

The Quileute Nation lies along the shores of the Pacific coast and the mouth of the Quillayute River in Washington State and tourism to the area and the local town of Forks, WA has increased substantially since the release of the film Twilight and is expected to break tourism records this summer that will continue with the release of the sequel New Moon on November 20, 2009.

Christian Serratos: On New Moon Movie

Christina Radish on IESB talked to Christian Serratos about her Twilight experience, her varied talents besides acting, and more.

“I remember going to set for the first day, and I wasn’t going to film, I was going to talk to hair and make-up, and meet Chris for the first time. I got out of the car and the A.D. came up to me and introduced herself, and she had an umbrella. It was actually hot in Vancouver, and they put umbrellas over you on modeling shoots when it’s really hot out. I was like, “Oh, you don’t have to do that. It’s not that bad out.” And, she was like, “No, it’s for the paparazzi,” and I was like, “Oh, my God, is that really how it’s going to be this time? Seriously?” Every time any one of the cast members went anywhere, they had to have guys with umbrellas around them because there were that many paparazzi. Just going outside and seeing dozens of people with signs, as if it’s a concert, I felt like Duran Duran. It was weird. ”

Trailer Reaction Deadline Extended

Mike Welch to Star in Jason Epperson Debut

Larry Richman over at ProNetworks bagged the scoop that Mike Welch is in a new feature film:

“…Welch will be starring in a new movie which goes into production later this month. Jason Epperson, runner-up on the Fox reality series On The Lot, will be directing Michael in his first feature film Unrequited”

According to Jason Epperson:

“We must be living right…we just landed one of the biggest new stars in Hollywood for the Lead in our film.  Michael Welch was one of the stars in last year’s biggest films “Twilight”…”

Eclipse Casting

Marc Malkin over at E! got a look at the Eclipse casting notice that just started to circulate.

Here are some of the descriptions shared by Marc:

“Riley “is a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria,” the notice reads. He’s in his early to mid 20s and “plays an integral role in Victoria’s attempt to murder Bella Swan.”

Seth Clearwater is a “tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin. Seth idolizes Jacob.

She[Leah Clearwater] is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues.”

Also, according to Marc, Rob was invited to do the musical number at the awards, but the timing just didn’t work out. Grab the video here because E! embed code is way messed up.

In answer to what will probably be the next set of  “how can I audition” questions to hit our inbox, if you are already “in the business” no doubt this is something your agent/manager can assist you with.  As far as we know, they are not up to extras casting at this point. No doubt any extras used will be Vancouver locals. If you have never been involved in the acting business before, don’t get scammed by the various ads stating “Twilight casting now” it’s a scam to sell you acting lessons and headshots. They aren’t in any way connected to the film. If you want some legit information on casting, visit Lana Veenker’s blog. It has a ton of info, Lana was invovled with the casting of Twilight (the first movie).

Peter Facinelli Unveils New Website

We’ve seen a lot of websites over the years that are connected to people in the Twilight universe.  Peter Facinelli’s debut website (previously he just had a MySpace) is nothing short of spectacular.

A round of applause for the design team: especially head web designer Chelle, and Emma and Kelly who did the Twilight section. They are still working out a couple of bugs, but you can tell it’s going to be fabulous.

The site has everything including an IPhone app! Peter has seriously raised the bar for future entertainment sites.
