Summary:
 As they board the plane for their honeymoon (first class tickets) – they make a few stops along the way (Houston. . .). They end up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where Edward and Bella take a taxi to the western edge of Rio, and where Edward and Bella board a sleek, fast yacht.

It is later established that they are honeymooning in a island. Isle Esme – a gift from Carlisle to Esme as Edward acknowledges and where a beautiful house exists.

Bella is extremely nervous of knowing what will follow upon their arrival. Edward suggests that she should take a midnight swim with him, promising the water will be very warm–and he leaves out back first. Inside, Bella remains still nerve-racked. She takes a shower, and soon, she trusts her instincts and follows Edward into the water leaving her towel that wrapped around her on a tree where Edward left his clothes. She walks into the water and embraces Edward. . . He pulls them into the dark water and everything fades to black. . .

In the morning, with the sun shining brightly and hot in the sky, Bella finds herself awake with Edward on her side– sulking from what is later established bruises left from the night before. Bella is in complete bliss and happiness, the night before could not be compared to anything she has experience in her whole life. Edward is sad and is self-loathing himself for what he has done to Bella, despite Bella’s insistence to the contrary. He starts to blame himself and Bella is angry with him, telling him how it was the epitome of her whole life, and then Edward realizes that she is happy and he doesn’t want to sour her mood. He tells her it was the best night of his existence too, and that he talked to Carlisle and his brothers about what he should expect with him being a vampire.

During the night, consequent from Edward’s extraordinary strength, he seemed to have bit a few pillows therefore covering Bella in feathers. She gets up from the bed and goes to get dressed and to take a shower, Edward decides to go and make her some breakfast. He makes her some eggs and Bella eats everything, although he made enough for two. The chapter ends with Edward’s promise that he will never hurt Bella again, that he will not make love to her until she has been changed.
