The Quileuete Wolfpack Meets Gil Birmingham, Chaske Spencer, and Tyson Houseman’s Dad

This is one of those stories where you just have to read it to believe it. What started out as a simple day to attend  the North American Indigenous Image Awards (NAIA) with press passes where Gil Birmingham and Chaske Spencer were both nominated, ended up with the Quileuete Wolfpack team bonding with a major casting director, chauffeuring Chaske Spencer around town to buy clothes, and then ended with them meeting Tyson Houseman’s dad, who by the way happens to be a fairly famous comedian…who knew?

Check it out on the Quileuete Wolfpack.

Vancouver Sun Features Local Twilight Actors

The Vancouver Sun has several pieces out featuring Twilight actors who hail from Canada. Jodelle Ferland who played Bree has her own article.

“”Twilight has had a huge impact on my career,” Ferland says over the phone from San Francisco, where she’s completing voice-over work for her latest project, The Haunting Hour, a television series that recently filmed in Vancouver.

“I’ve been doing all sorts of publicity for Twilight and conventions, and I get to interact with the fans a lot, which is so much fun. Before Twilight, I didn’t have a lot of teen fans, and now I definitely do. Most Twilight fans are teenagers, which is pretty cool, because I get recognized a lot more now by teens rather than people who like to watch horror films.”

See more on Jodelle

They also have another article up profiling Tyson Houseman, Cameron Bright, and Leah Gibson who have all been in one or more of the movies. Unfortunately they didn’t cover Dan Cudmore, Charlie Bewley, and Noel Fisher who all also have Vancouver roots.

Finally, they cover where the outdoor sets are located.  You can often see these by standing on public property (AKA the sidewalk not someone’s lawn) on non-filming days.

Blast: The Eclipse Cast Hit Twilight Nights

Around the country the Eclipse cast appeared at various Twilight night events sponsored by Summit and Moviefone. Usually in outdoor settings, you could watch Twilight and New Moon back-to-back for free. Here is some of that coverage.

A very blonde Justin Chon in Phoenix

San Diego featured Peter Facinelli and Christian Serratos with hosts Jenna Bush, Quddus, and Myriam from MSN Superfan.

Boston had Booboo Stewat and Tinsel Korey who braved flight cancellations to get there!

The Lexicon’s own Nena Cullen was in Salt Lake City to see Charlie Bewley and Julia Jones. Nena writes, “So this was an impromptu- spur of the moment decision, to go down to the park hauling my 2 month old with me. When I got there I realized my camera didn’t have a lot of charge, so I had to take  pictures with no flash to at least last me for a few pictures. As you well know, both Julia and Charley were awesome. They hugged and signed almost everybody there…only about 200-300 people showed up. It was at this huge park…they seemed to be having a great time.Summit gave some keychains, buttons, pens and make up, posters and some other stuff for free. Moviephone had a picture booth, popcorn stand, face painting stand and a twimom/Alex’s lemonade stand. Movies started around 8pm.

Tyson routinely gets referred to by his fellow packmates as the “brainy jokester”. What do you think.

Chicago Sun Times interview young cast members

The Chicago Sun Times interviewed Jodelle Ferland, Boo Boo Stewart, and Tyson Houseman recently about being added to the cast for Eclipse.  (Even though Tyson was seen in New Moon, he didn’t really get to be a part of the action until Eclipse.)  The Sun Times got target audience members to actually supply the questions.

Q. Have you read the whole Twilight series?

JODELLE: I’ve read all four of the books, and I absolutely love them. I really, really like Stephenie’s writing.

TYSON: I read them all after I got the part.

BOOBOO: I thought I might get an audition for the film, so I started reading the books. … I wanted to go in extremely prepared, you know?

Fansite Friday’s Presents: Tyson Houseman

Fansite Fridays are back! The Fansites were allowed to interview several stars from the upcoming  Twilight Saga: Eclipse. To kick things off we have a great interview with Tyson Houseman who plays Quil Atera.  Make sure to check back every Friday to see who else we interviewed!

Q: So even though your character was introduced in New Moon, you really didn’t get to jump into the action until Eclipse. Did you kind of feel a little bit like Quil – that you were left out of the fun? And was it worth the wait getting to participate more in Eclipse?

Tyson: Yeah, there were actually a lot of similarities between me and the character. In New Moon, like you said, I only had like one day of shooting on set, and so every time I would see the other wolf guys they would always talk about all the fun times they were having on set, and stuff like that. And I kinda felt like I was missing out on that. And so I was really excited for Eclipse when we started that one. I was a wolf and a member of the wolf pack. So I got to hang out with the guys again and do all the stuff with them and that was really similar to what the character Quil was doing, too.

Alex Meraz: When Football on Set Goes Wrong

We heard Alex tell this story at a recent Creation Entertainment convention. Here, Tyson Houseman also chimes in with his perspective. The video is a little blurry, but the audio is clear.
