Edi Gathegi Speaks to Novel Novice

Novel Novice Twilight admin Sara got to talk to Twilight and New Moon star Edi Gathegi this morning, while coordinating a live interview at KPTV/Fox 12 in Portland, Oregon. Sara and her team of anchors talked to Edi about the upcoming Vampire Baseball game, why he’s coming back to Portland and what fans can expect.

(These are tickets ONLY to the game, and do not include transportation so you must live near Portland, Oregon, or be able to get yourself to Portland Saturday morning.) The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon has given us four tickets to give away to some lucky fans. We will be giving away two sets of two (2) tickets to Saturday’s game. Several stars from Twilight and New Moon will be appearing at or playing in the game: Rachelle Lefevre, Edi Gathegi, Peter Facinelli, Christian Serratos, Solomon Trimble, Michael Welch, Ayanna Berkshire, Catherine Grimme, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Sean McGrath, and Gavin Bristol.

To win the tickets — all you have to do is e-mail: vampirebaseball.nnt@gmail.com and you’ll be entered to win!

Entries are due by this Thursday, July 2nd at midnight (PST). On Friday morning, we’ll choose two winners at random.

Please remember, the baseball game is in Portland, Oregon — so you must be able to arrange your own travel to the game.

When entering, be sure to include a valid e-mail address where we can contact you. The winners will be announced on Novel Novice Twilight Friday morning, and will be notified by e-mail about picking up the tickets. The tickets are for general admission to the game. Gates open at 8am and the Fan vs. Crew game begins at 9am (with a podcast at 8:30am), followed by the Cast/Crew game at 10:45am.

Approximately $5-10 of every ticket sold benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon.

Novel Novice Celebrates 1,000,000 Visitors

It was not even a year ago that middle school teacher Tiffany Truitt got kids who had been labeled “difficult to teach” and who were falling below educational standards to get passionate about reading. How did she do it? Twilight!

What started out as a simple middle school project and a basic blogger site bloomed into a greater revolution encouraging kids to read. They also branched out from there to encourage kids to think about civic service, voting, conflict resolution, and more. read there first couple entries it’s pretty amazing.

So stop by Novel Novice, hands down one of our favorite sites on the web, and wish them well for their next million visitors!
