Bill Condon Gave Judi Shekoni a Peak at Breaking Dawn PArt 2

Judi Shekoni who plays Zafrina in Breaking Dawn Part 2 loved working with director Bill Condon. She even got a special treat!

Fanhattan: What was it like working with Bill Condon?

Judi Shekoni: It was just wonderful. I think that was one of the highlights of booking the movie to where it was such a prominent director who had so much success and he geuinely inspired me that the people who are at the top genuinely are lovely, authentic real people because he is. I don’t think there was a single moment where he ever raised his voice, ever got outraged, ever made anyone feel anything less than special. From the moment we got the part and were taken out to Baton Rouge and we had private meetings with Bill to discuss our characters to the very last day of shooting on the saga, we were doing a bit of additional shooting. Bill brought his iPad and played it and showed us a little bit of our entrance and some of our scenes. Just from the moment I got the part until the end of shooting, he’s managed to give everybody individual attention and really have such an eye for detail. It was an awesome experience.

New Face Fridays: Meet Judi Shekoni as Zafrina

The Twilight fansites New Face Fridays series continues. Meet Judi Shekoni who plays Zafrina of the Amazon Coven. Also check out Zafrina’s full story in our character bios. Judi was a HUGE fan of the book before getting cast. She really loves being a part of the Twilight Saga.

Could you talk about what it was like the first time you saw yourself fully in costume? There are some wonderful studio stills that were released of you and Tracey [Heggins] together in costume.

Yes, the first time I saw myself fully in costume was overwhelming. It was kind of hypnotic and you can’t stop staring at yourself in the mirror. It was just kind of overwhelming. I don’t think I’ve ever been in that position in my life, where I had so many people who are great at what they do, all come together and work on this project as one entity. It was really breathtaking. As it was happening with the costume tests and make up tests that when it finally came together, it was all of a process, and it was very rewarding.

Will we get to see some of Zafrina’s illusions in Breaking Dawn Part 2?

I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about that. [laughs] I mean, we know the character has a special power. I don’t know if I can talk about that to be honest. I’m so sorry.

You can catch the rest of this great interview with Judi on Breaking Dawn Movie.

Judi Shekoni Does PSA for Bite The Ballot

Judi Shekoni, who plays Zafrina in Breaking Dawn part 2, has done a video for a voter awareness campaign in her native UK. The campaign is aimed at getting young people to participate in the voting process, to let their voices be heard. As always, we would never presume to tell anyone who to vote for in any country, but we echo Judi in encouraging people to take advantage of this basic right that is sadly not a right in many countries.

Judi Shekoni Supports UK Voter Registration Campaign

Judi Shekoni, who is a British citizen has joined Bite the Ballot, a campaign called that encourages young people to vote :

“British actress Judi Shekoni – who rose to fame in the role of Precious in UK soap Eastenders and will soon be seen as Zafrina, leader of the Amazon coven, in the upcoming conclusion to the Twilight films – has thrown her support behind a campaign in Britain aimed at encouraging young people to vote.

Judi wanted to get behind the Bite the Ballot Campaign to encourage young people to learn about politics, share their own voice and use their vote. Politics affects what we do every single day, so making your own choices and knowing what your options are is essential, even from the very first vote! This campaign was founded by fellow actor Michael Sani and breaks the barriers to let you know that politics can be simple, personal and fun. It also follows in the footsteps of the American campaign Rock the Vote which saw a huge increase in young people voting for the first time.”

We applaud Judi’s efforts.  We take no specific political stance on the Lexicon, but we support that idea that everyone who is eligible to vote should participate in the process in their respective countries.

Judi Shekoni Chats With The Creative Pop Culture Community

Judi Shekoni who plays Zafrina in Breaking Dawn, chatted with The Creative Pop Culture Community about her Breaking Dawn experience and what is next on her plate.

“What are some characteristics of Zafrina you like?

“She is strong and powerful, she also is in touch with nature. I have a deep respect to nature and the environment and so love playing a character that is so connected. I love her relationship with Senna as I feel that women do have a strong bond with each other and I like how they take care of each other. I think her special power is so exciting, I am very interested in the human mind and its capabilities so I am fascinated by her mental special powers and it gave me a chance to explore what it would be like to have it and how it would work. I also like her connection with the baby – as it shows her motherly instincts.”
