Jackson Rathbone to Leave 100 Monkeys

Monkey Junkies everywhere are broken-hearted.  On March 4, an official statement on the 100 Monkeys website announced that Jackson Rathbone and Jerad Anderson will be leaving the band due to personal reasons.

Due to demands on their personal lives and professional careers, our good friends
Jackson Rathbone and Jerad Anderson will be leaving the band as active members. We have much love for both and wish them well, and they will always be welcome if they should ever decide to drop in on any future shows, or make appearances on recordings. The last four years of albums, tours and other projects have truly been fantastic, and the legacy they leave behind in their work will be remembered in all of our future endeavors. We wish them the best in their future projects and anticipate great new things to come.

Ben Johnson, Ben Graupner, and Lawrence Abrams will continue with 100 Monkeys and will be working onward with the release of the band’s new single “City of Bones,” March 12th, and a set of shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Las Vegas starting this April. We will be playing these as a five-piece and will announce the names of the accompanying musicians shortly.

Personally, replacing any of the band members looks to be difficult given that the 100 Monkeys aren’t your typical band.  Every member of the band plays almost every instrument and needs to be very versatile.  But we want to hear from you.  How do you think this will effect the 100 Monkeys and if you consider yourself a fan, will you continue to support them even without two of their original members?

Read the whole story at the band’s website.  Thanks to Hypable for the heads up.

We aren’t really sure to be honest what this is all about, but it made us laugh and the news is kind of light right now so we thought that we would share it.

Jackson Rathbone: Fault Magazine Additional Preview Image

Fault Magazine has released a final image and tidbit of interview from their Jackson Rathbone issue.

FAULT: You’ve just wrapped all of the worldwide Breaking Dawn premieres, how was the tour?

JR: Each stop on our tour, from Madrid to Rome to Toronto to LA to NY to Chicago and so on, was a wild and wonderful experience in its own way. We are just so grateful for the love and support of our fans, who continue to inspire us. Getting to meet these fine folks around the world, face-to-face, is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as an actor.”

FAULT: Will we get to see Jasper’s character developed more in Breaking Dawn Part 2?
JR: Absolutely. In Breaking Dawn Part 1, we got to see a new, lighter side of Jasper. He’s finally able to let loose a bit, and smile! At the wedding, he gets to take his lovely wifey, Alice, for a spin on the dance floor. By the end of the film though, the tone gets darker and he’s fighting to protect his family, Bella and the baby. In Part 2, with the looming threat of the Volturi, you’ll continue to see the evolution of Jasper. ..

Jackson Rathbone Talks Fighting For the Love Of His Life

This isn’t what you think at first glance, but a great story nonetheless. PaperMag has a out-of-the-ordinary interview with Jackson Rathbone.

It was the spring of 2010 and I was in love. The girl who had stolen my heart was a black 2006 custom Gibson Les Paul. We had met in the City of Angels on my 25th birthday. She wanted to come home with me, and I could tell this would be more than a one-night stand. This was love — not my first — but the last in a long line of broken strings and humbuckers. Our love was electric. She sang to me, and I knew her name was Betty.

I had been on the road with my band, 100 Monkeys, playing shows across North America. On this leg of the tour, we were playing dive bars and juke joints, caravanning with a small trailer lugged by an old Ford van, followed by a small white Scion xB. It wasn’t luxurious by any means, but we were able to connect with our fans on a personal level.

Find out how Jackson had to protect the love of his life and what it cost him here.
