Twilight Stars Ebay for Charity

Would you like a guitar signed by Robert Pattinson for Christmas? Well, if you put in the winning bid on Ebay it could be yours, and even better the money goes towards helping the homeless.

“Brand new Fender Telecaster signed by ultra hot Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) from the Twilight movie series. Rob happened to be shopping for instruments at Norm’s Rare Guitars and Norm (a great friend of The Midnight Mission), asked him if he’d sign a guitar that could be auctioned off to support the services of the charity. Rob was gracious enough to say yes and do it. This terrifically talented actor and singer/musician even consented to have his picture taken with the signed instrument. I didn’t post it here, but have it available for authentication (believe it or not this humble actor is a bit camera shy when not at work). Get this now!! I have seen tons of signed pictures and posters, but not a Fender guitar. And as you real fans know, Robert is an excellent musician – he plays piano, guitar and sings! So it’s a winner – a great and unique gift for you or someone you love and you help people who don’t always feel loved.”

See the details here.

Now how would you like to have your own private conversation with one of the actors? You can do that with Rachelle LeFevre if you have the winning bid on Ebay. Rachelle is a great animal lover, and the money goes towards helping Best Friends, a charity that looks to place homeless pets and seeks the humane treatment of animals.

Peter Facinelli: Transforming Twitter to Raise Money

MSNBC interviews Peter Facinelli regarding how he has turned Twitter into an outreach for various charities that he supports:

Facinelli: That’s the hard part. For me, I go and I see these videos and people bring them to my attention. That motivates me to get involved. The hard part is getting this information out to people so that it moves them in a way where they can get involved. The Affliction people came to me and told me about this woman’s son and I said right away, “Lets do something for her son, for her cause.” Getting the information out there and being able to connect with people is the difficult part.

Maybe somebody doesn’t have that connection toward those particular charities and you can’t force your charity down someone’s throat. They won’t respond to it. Some people will. But that is the great thing about being able to reach a mass amount of people. If you can reach 500,000 people, some of those people will be able to connect with what you are saying.

But you have to be careful, too. Twitter, you can’t use as a soapbox either, it turns people off. It’s a fine line. It should be entertaining, but it also has the power to be utilized for something good. That’s what I’m trying to do … skirt that fine line of being able to do both.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Facinelli: My hope is that whoever reads this article gets involved in some way, in whatever charities that affect them or is personal to them. There are a lot of things out there that need our help and it’s a lot easier to turn our back and say, “I can’t make a difference.” Individually you can, when you come together. Every person does count. Sometimes as an individual you feel like you don’t. As this Twitter bit kind of proved, every individual does count.”

Chaske Spencer Reaching Out To Others

MTV features Chaske Spencer’s , who plays Sam in New Moon, recent charity work:

“Maybe I take my pop culture a bit too seriously, but last night I was watching a documentary on Roseanne Barr and as it listed all the vain, nonsensical, mean-spirited ways that she blew her early-90s power and money, and I couldn’t help but wonder: How much did I contribute to that behavior by watching her sitcom every week back in the day? Well, maybe we can all feel a little bit better about blowing our cash on something like “Twilight,” as evidenced by a story we ran recently on the cast’s devotion to charity work.

And the hits just keep on coming! As we were putting that story to bed, I got a shout from “New Moon” star Chaske Spencer, who was hoping to bring some attention to his own recent efforts. Naturally, we’re happy to report that more good is going on out there courtesy Sam Uley — and it doesn’t even involve taking his shirt off.”
