Ashley Greene is Nylon Magazine’s August Cover Model

Ashley Greene is rocking out the cover of this August’s issue of Nylon.

On keeping her waitressing gig after booking Twilight: I was working at the Belmont Cafe in L.A., got the call, and two weeks later was rehearsing. Right when I was cast, my IMDb STARmeter [a chart that tracks actors based on how many searches are done on them] went through the roof — all of ours did, and we hadn’t even done anything yet!. I asked my boss if I could have my job back after the shoot. He was like, “I don’t think you’ll need it but OK.”

On drawing from life experience for characters:
Growing up, I didn’t have a hard life. Luckily, people are not the greatest in L.A., so once I got here and my heart was broken and people stabbed me in the back, I could use that to feel vulnerable.

On being typecast post-Twilight: It’s not like, ‘Oh, you’re the quirky best friend-slash-sister’. There’s no stereotype with Alice. And she doesn’t really look anything like me, with the pixie cut and the white makeup. So to be put in a box, I’d kind of have to do it myself. And I’m not going to do that.

Interview: What Superheroes Would Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, and Jackson Rathbone Be?

Laura had a chance to interview Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, and Ashley Greene at Comic Con. To break up the questions so it wasn’t the same old same old, she broke it up a bit with a Superhero icebreaker:

Movies.com: We are currently at Comic Con, the home of western showdowns, superheroes, and action. The end of Breaking Dawn Part 2 is an epic superhero showdown. What superhero reminds you most of your character?

Kellan Lutz: Fighting technique I’d have to say Carnage from the Spider-Man series or Venom. When he gets unleashed, Emmett just tears it up.

Jackson Rathbone: Captain American because of the way he fights, only change it to Captain Texas since that’s Jasper’s roots. In a lot of ways Jasper’s just very technically proficient because he’s done it so many times for just so long. He has a warrior’s mindset. He’s very strong and silent. He’s very quiet. There’s not a lot of superheroes that are very quiet. A lot superheroes are very (in a deep booming voice) “Take that bad guy!” Being clever plays here (points to head) Jasper is much more get it done without the talk. He is a man of few words. You mentioned Westerns. Jasper is the ultimate Clint Eastwood he never blinks.

Ashley Greene: I don’t know. Catwoman, maybe. Catherine Hardwicke made us all take cat lessons for Twilight. Alice is very stealth and nimble.

Ashley Greene Esquire Magazine Feature

Ashley Greene has a feature with Esquire Magazine.

Nor is the petite sorority-girl Ashley Greene, who sits before me today, the least bit icy; she’s just a girl with a Day-Timer pinched on the seat between her thigh and purse, a vessel of responsibility. In fact, she’s so relaxed, so cat-stretched against the promise of two hours of conversation and a bowl of soup that you’d think she might have settled into a comfort zone about work. But in fact: “What Twilight gave me was years to consider how I wanted to work otherwise.”

She twists at the earring once more. Next year, she’ll turn twenty-six. She mimes an understated fist-pump when this comes up. Laughing then at herself, she says she looks forward to being thirty. “It’s a good age,” she says. “It’s an age of choices.” Here she is, then, the profound naïf making such a careful-what-you-wish-for declaration that I can’t help but roll my eyes.

Twilight Stars Make Glamour’s Best Dressed List

Four Twilight Saga celebs made the cut for Glamour’s Best Dressed of 2012 (which we find slightly odd because we’re only 4 months into the year, but who’s counting?) The big surprise comes with Kristen Stewart’s top rank of #1 on the women’s list beating out Victoria Beckham and even Kate Middleton!  “Kristen is always effortlessly on-trend. Her evolution from awkward teen to style queen has made the Twilight star a fashion icon every girl can relate to.”  Ashley Greene also made the list, but just barely.  She came in at number 50 out of 50.  Both Taylor Lautner and Rob Pattinson made the men’s list.  Taylor came in at 5th place and Rob in 10th.

What do you think?  Did Glamour get it right?  Tell us in the comments!
