The Movie Fanatic has a special up on Nikki Reed.

Will definately be watching my Netflix envelopes from now on! I usually just open them and don’t really pay attention to what’s on the flap but now I will!
Also, it was nice to hear such nice things being said about Nikki Reed in the comments on the movie fanatic. The good far outweighed the bad and it proves just how much we love Nikki and what a great job we think she’s going to do. I can’t stand it when ordinary people think they know more than trained professionals like the casting director of Twilight. I bet most of the Nikki haters don’t even know what it takes to make a good actress!
This is going to be a long post about the Nikki Reed article. Sorry about this.
The vampires are supposed to be insanely gorgeous, because they aren’t real people. Only if Stephenie’s vampires come out of the book and play these roles are they going to be perfect. And that’s only perfect for Stephenie. People have different opinions on how each of the characters look like, and to me, Nikki is very pretty and very talented and I am confident that she is going to be great.
We haven’t even seen the movie yet, so I really don’t know how people can judge yet. Just because Rob was Cedric, Taylor was Sharkboy, and Nikki was in thirteen doesn’t mean that they are going to be those people that they played in those separate roles.
I am all for supporting the cast, because they honestly know how important this is to us. How many other movies based on books have the cast so involved in the fandom? …………. …………. ………..pretty much none.

I actually always thought that Nikki would have played a really great Emily or Leah since she has brown hair naturally and brown eyes and tanned skin…BUT from some of the small clips and videos that have been put out for twilight tuesday and such,I think she can also bring out everything about Rosalie that is described by Stephenie Meyer in her vision of Rosalie from the book!

I completely agree with kassia’s post:
Who are we to second guess the casting choices? Summit is a very professional organization. I have never had a problem with any of the actors they chose for Twilight.
Secondly, it’s an actor’s JOB to have the ability to play very different roles. Have you seen Rob in clips of How To Be? Compare that to the way he is in the Twilight clips. You can’t even compare them because he plays utterly different characters. He’s good at it.
Then there’s Nikki. Have any of you seen Mini’s First Time? She’s not going to play anything close to her role in that movie (except maybe the killing part? haha)

I am seriously tempted to call a family friend just to ask for her netflix envelopes!
xDD I’m the same as Theresa- my best friend’s family gets netflix.. it’d just feel kinda weird to say “OH! Hey! Can I have your envelope pleaaaaaaaaaaaase?” although she probably expects me to do stuff like that- especially if it’s with Twilight.
Hey, I was wondering if Hazel could possibly answer this, or one of the mods, was the movie that you got a new release or was it an older movie? I would kind of think it would be newer. Thanks!

HOLY CRAP! I have TWO Netflix DVDs sitting at my house right now that I haven’t opened. I got them yesterday… !!!! Will they be there??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!

I think its really sad that people are so against Nikki Reed, still. Now I think it was really unfair to judge the actors (and this is a hypocritical statement because I did it as well) before they were transformed into their roles. Personally I think Nikki Reed looks most like my version of Rosalie than any of the other Cullens. She’s doing an amazing job, and I’m grateful they’ve left Rosalie in the hands of such a capable actress.

This was a big surprise yesterday when I got home! I knew I would have a movie that night waiting for me …oddly, it was The Messengers (at the request of my daughter). heh. She was sitting on the couch reading Eclipse while I opened up the envelope and gasped! Dang it, I ripped the very top, but it did nothing to harm the picture. Stepping into the livingroom I tossed it at the kid and said “Look!” We both giggled. Ahh….another mom/daughter bonding moment. I swear my husband thinks we’re nuts!
*jaw drops* I’m kicking myself in the back of the head for not ordering movies from netflix ):
kassia, well put. I agree that no other fandom lets the book’s fans be so involved. Look what happened to Eragon and Harry Potter (the 1st one and the 4th one, though it cut out a lot, were the best movies overall, and the 5th one was just….*shudder*).
I’m so glad they made such good choices for the Twilight cast, and I’m so impressed with Twilight fans for being open-minded and supportive.
Now, about Nikki: I have to say, along with a lot of people, I didn’t like it when she was cast, but now I couldn’t imagine a better Rosalie. Someone on the article’s comments mentioned the chemistry with Kellan… I know Rob and Kristen and Ashley and Jackson have good chemistry so far as we’ve seen, but I think Nikki and Kellan were the best match on chemistry. Seeing them together (because I already loved Kellan) is what really made me support Nikki before I heard and saw what a great actress she is.

nikki is great for the role of rosalie. i don’t think she will necessaraly overshadow the other characters, but she will definently shine. Enough for Forever, i also believe that kellan and nikki have great chemistry. in the majority of the pictures and interviews i’ve seen, they are together and having fun. they look like they were made for eachother, just like rosalie and emmett.
and i also agree with everything that kassia wrote. exactly how i feel.
