Camping Rules for Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere

Here are the rules for the registration process for those of you interested in camping out for the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere!  The whole process is different this year, sp be sure you read all the details. 

Attention Twilight Fans, the World Premiere of The Twilight Saga finale, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” is nearly upon us.  In order to give all faithful fans a fair chance to take part in the festivities planned leading up to the premiere, Summit Entertainment is putting in place some new procedures for this year’s fan camping.  

Due to the high demand to attend this year’s Fan Camp and the limited amount of space available,

FAN CAMP TICKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH A RANDOM DRAWING OF ALL ELIGIBLE REGISTRATION SUBMISSIONS DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD.

 The process to attend this year’s Fan Camp will happen in 4 phases:

 Phase 1: Fan Camp Registration

Phase 2: Fan Camp Drawing

Phase 3: Fan Camp Ticket Notification

Phase 4: Fan Camp Check-in

There are approximately 1,200 Fan Camp tickets available in total.  Each ticket is for one (1) spot at the Fan Camp.  Fan Camp spots will be determined by a random drawing to be conducted after the Registration Period has closed. The winners of the drawing will be notified by email with instructions on how to pick up their tickets and when to report to Fan Camp for check-in.

This year all campers will be in the same Fan Camp area.  Selection for a Fan Camp ticket does not guarantee eligibility for any other fan events, prizes or drawings.  All special fan events and prizes will be determined by additional and separate random drawings.

 

 Phase 1 – Fan Camp Registration

 Fan Camp Registration will open at 12:00 PM PDT on Saturday, October 13, 2012 and will close at 12:00 PM PDT on Monday, October 15, 2012 (the “Registration Period”).

THE LINK TO THE FAN CAMP REGISTRATION SYSTEM WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THIS WEBSITE AT 12:00 PM PDT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2012!

In order to register, fans must visit the registration page during the Registration Period and follow the instructions to fill out the registration form with the requested information, including, registration type. There will be 2 different types of registration:

1)      Individual Registration –  One (1) person registers for himself or herself only. The following information must be entered and must match the person’s ID when arriving at Fan Camp:

a.       Full Name

b.      Date of Birth

c.       Email Address

d.      Home Address

 

2)      Group Registration –  One (1) group manager registers for himself or herself and up to nine (9) guests (ten (10) people total). The following information must be entered for all members of the group including the group manager and all of the information listed for each member must match that member’s ID upon arrival:

a.       Full Name

b.      Date of Birth

c.       Email Address

d.      Home Address

Fan Camp Registration Rules

 

1.       Fan Camp Registration  will begin at 12:00 PM PDT on Saturday, October 13, 2012 and will end at 12:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, October 15, 2012 (the “Registration Period”).  Registrations must be submitted during the Registration Period in order to be entered into the drawing.

2.       Only one (1) entry per person will be accepted, regardless of which type of registration type is used. Only the first entry will be recognized and duplicate entries will be deleted, regardless of whether such duplicate entry is as an individual or as a member of a group.  Names submitted during registration must match IDs.  Registrants may be notified by email if we believe an entry is a duplication, in order to confirm eligibility.

3.       Fans can register as a group at time of registration.  All group members’ names must be submitted with the group applications. Groups will be limited to ten (10) members.  If a group member has previously registered as an individual, that group member’s name will be removed from the group registration.  

4.       1,200 spots are tentatively  available at the Fan Camp.  Camp spots will NOT be assigned as first come, first serve.  Once registration has closed, we will conduct a random drawing of all registrations submitted during the Registration period in order to determine the 1,200 recipients of the Fan Camp spot tickets.

 

Phase 2 – Fan Camp Drawing

Following the close of registration at 12:00 PM PDT on Monday, October 15, 2012; all eligible registrations will be automatically entered into a random drawing system that will randomly assign Fan Camp tickets to registered individuals and groups. 

Registered groups that are selected by the drawing will have their members ticketed together and assigned the same check-in time for Fan Camp.

 

Phase 3 – Fan Camp Ticket Notification

Registered individuals and groups that have been selected by the random drawing will be notified by email with their ticket details and assigned check-in times starting on or about Tuesday, October 16, 2012.  Registrants that were not selected in the drawing will not be sent a notification. 

If the email notification is returned as undeliverable, the ticket(s) will not be assigned to such registrant and an alternate registrant may be selected by random drawing.

Check-in times will be assigned and specified in the email notification.

 

Phase 4 – Fan Camp Check-in

 The check-in times will begin at 8:00 AM PDT on Thursday, November 8.  No lines will be recognized before this time and any ticketed guests that arrive before their assigned check-in time may be subject to disqualification from camping and may not be admitted into the Fan Camp.

Ticketed guests will be assigned one of the check-in time windows listed below.  Ticketed guests must arrive during their designated check-in time.

 8:00 AM PDT – 10:00 AM PDT: Group 1

10:00 AM PDT – 12:00 PM PDT: Group 2

12:00 PM PDT – 2:00 PM PDT: Group 3

2:00 PM PDT – 4:00 PM PDT: Group 4

4:00 PM PDT – 6:00 PM PDT: Group 5

 Ticketed guests who do not arrive within their check-in time will forfeit their Fan Camp spot and the next registered guest/group in line will take such spot.   In the event that that Fan Camp spots remain at the end of the entire check in, ticketed guests that failed to arrive within their check-in time may be given alternate Fan Camp spots if space permits.  Only ticketed guests will be permitted into the Fan Camp, however, we reserve the right to admit non-registered guests at our discretion.

  

RULES OF CONDUCT

 

1.       No lines will be recognized before 8:00 AM PDT on Thursday, November 8, 2012.  Any guests that  arrive before their assigned check-in time may be subject to disqualification from camping and may not be admitted into the Fan Camp.

2.       Due to limited space, ONLY standard sized pop tents will be allowed (8’x8′ [64 sq. ft.] or less). No oversized tents, staked tents, or other such tents will be allowed.  Any guest that attempts to use a tent that does not meet these specifications may be removed from the premises.

3.       ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL OR WEAPONS allowed on premises.

4.       No cooking or open flames are permitted in or around the Fan Camp.

5.       No horseplay. If anyone dumps food or beverages on another camper, they may be subject to removal from the Fan Camp, NOKIA Plaza and/or LA Live. 

6.       No amplified music. All music devices must be used with headset or earphones.

7.       Smoking is only allowed in designated areas OUTSIDE of the NOKIA Plaza boundaries.

8.       Guests are responsible for their own property. Neither LA Live, AEG, nor Summit will be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

9.       Everyone must keep their camp spot clean at all times. A fine will be enforced for anyone that litters on Nokia or Los Angeles City property.

10.   Guests must only use the restrooms designated for guests and respect all businesses in the surrounding area.

11.   Guests must follow the rules and directions of L.A. LIVE Management/Summit Security at all times.

12.   We reserve the right to reassign camping spots at our discretion, for any reason whatsoever.

13.   We reserve the right to modify these Rules of Conduct and the Fan Camp spot selection process/drawing at any time, in our sole discretion and it is the responsibility of each fan to periodically review the Rules of Conduct and other procedures for changes.

14.   All guests understand and agree that LA LIVE, Summit and AEG have the right, at their sole discretion, to remove any guest from the Fan Camp, the LA Live premises or from any activity at any time and for any reason.  Guests will be removed if such guest’s behavior at any point is uncooperative, disruptive, or may or does cause damage to person, property, or the reputation of the LA Live, Summit or AEG.

15.   Any guest that is not eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of check-in must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

Just wondering if after we register and hopefully are picked to camp out and get the e-mail is that e-mail going to give us our number wristband or do we get that when we line up in our groups on the 8th? Otherwise your still going to have people competeing to get first in designated groups 1-5. to get a better number for the carpet.

    • Exactly!It’s even worse for my friends and I…we are from Venezuela and already have our flight and hotel booked…It’s really unfair to the people who have been planning this for MONTHS not to be able to camp because some really immature ones are gonna sign up just for the sake of doing it…

  3. PLEASE TELL SUMMIT TO NOT LET PEOPLE GO TO DOUBLE PREMIERES, IF THEY ARE GOING THE LONDON PREMIERE THEY SHOULD NOT GO TO THE L.A PREMIERE. SOME DO AND THAT IS NOT FAIR. THEY COULD DO THIS BY HAVING EVERYONE REGISTER AT EVERY PREMIERE.

    I agree with the person that said that it should be online registration first and then bring your online registration info and id with you and line up for a spot.
    It will be a bit of a bummer going if I know we didn’t get in.
    Thinking people have not bought plane tickets and booked time off work by mid/late October is silly. Of course we have. I have a plane ticket bought and work booked off. I could not have waited until that late to do so. Too expensive and I need to book time off work in advance. Hope I get a spot with my group.

  9. Twilight Lexicon, first of all THANK YOU for being this special place where we can all get out our frustration over the premiere situation.

    And also a big THANK YOU for considering EVERYTHING that we´re saying and sharing it with Summit so they can help us with all the million questions that we still have.

    I just wanted to aks you if you could ask Summit to make sure that the winner people will actually camp. I´ve read that there´s a lot of people who might not check on time (if selected), or that they can just camp a few days or so…

    Please PLEASE I believe that we all are in the same situation. I´m from Mexico and I´ll be risking not just my money, because I already purchased my airplane ticket and hotel, but my job and my last semester at College (I swear my last day of school is november 23), and if I (like many others) are willing to put aside their life for 5 days, we should actually be above other people who can not.

    I know it is unfair, but sadly we are a lot of people who are trying to go, and if it´s going to be “randomly” at least they have to make sure that theyre picking the right people for this.

    And another thing, Who can we actually be 100% sure that it is going to be “random”? I don´t think thay they will risk letting out people from important websites, like yours or many other fan websites or supporters.

    I´m gonna pray and pray to get my chance.

    • Jimena, which is very difficult calls there is no way of knowing who will attend if so must be on quota, I think no more than 1400 people. But I do support the petition have done to travel long distances or those who come from other countries where there is no possibility of a premiere. I think we should have a quota of 200 places willing to abroad in eclipse and last year there were many Mexicans and South America but they were over 50.

      Twilightlexicon think if you have the power to speak are Summit and make him see that if the record will favor those should be someone who travel from afar.

      by the way I’m from San Diego, so enter in the draw and if I stay I can not go to see if too many places, but that will not do it someone from Sweden or Brazil.

      • That would be giving preference to people,and that is just not fair. I do not support any support petition, anyone who does not live locally has to pay for plane ticket and the expense of living there. That is out outrageous that people thing they should have “special right”

            We should all ask only that the record is only 24 hours and set the draw check in your group and your place in line.

  14. sooooo….now that I’ve read the rules many times, today while reading I noticed a “typo”….it first says the registration period is from Saturday to Tuesday….then later says closes Monday, notified Tuesday. tsk, tsk….someone should fix that ;-)

We have waited 4 years for this event!!! I wish it would be first come first serve as in the Eclipse and Breaking Dawn 1 Premier – they just need more people on the front line. I will gladly stand in line again for hours knowing that I got there and made the effort when I was supposed to and did the time and effort for it. Now that this info is public (google search) thousands will register and may not understand they have to camp and then someone like us twihard fans will receive a declined e-mail.
    SUMMITT: THERE IS STILL TIME TO FIX THIS :)

    Like most of you I am sad and disappointed and yes a bit frustrated on how summit/lionsgate is handling the very last twilight world premiere. Last year I attended with my nieces and had so much fun and met so many wonderful people from around the world, and even tho we spend over 12 hours walking around LA live and about another 4 hours being treated like a herd of animals on the middle of the street (sorry if I offend anyone but that’s how felt before being picked for the wristband line up) then standing in line for another 6 hours just so the guy with the little laptop with type writer fingers to put in our information in was completely worth it. Now with all this changes in the rules I feel so heartbroken not only for me but for all of the twihards who have made so many sacrifices and who are willing to do it all over again just to be able to attend the last twilight premiere, it’s just cruel what summit/lionsgate is putting us through. This whole lottery name thing and time frame of registering is just plain awful it just hurts the chances of those who are so invested on going, there’s gonna be tons of people who are gonna sign up for the heck of it not knowing or caring for that matter that they’re hurting the chances of those who are able and desperately want to go, what if those are the ones that win and don’t even show up? want then? now some of the rules are great ideas, 1200 spots are awesome last years we we’re approx 1400 and about the last 400 people showed up the day of or the day before the premiere and some of them didn’t even know much about the movie they just did it for the heck of it, so by registering the 1200 hundreds spots for those of us who are truly twihards and are more than happy to go is great. I would suggest that the registration be cut to 24 hours cuts down on the amount a people signing up for the heck and also gives enough time for everyone to register and it should be first come first serve basis. And in the day of checking in if there’s still spots available have the people who are there camp out.

  21. Summit is going to get nothing but bad press for this once the campout begins. I was in tent city 1 last year and was still very upset about the process. Just because I was lucky doesn’t make it right.

    I was wondering if you could do me a favor? Can you please let Summit know that despite all the angst this new procedure has created, that there are fans out here who really do appreciate them and all they are trying to do? It cannot be easy to devise a plan in the best efforts of safety and security and please everyone. It must have been very hard. I applaud their efforts. This fandom has come a long way and we will continue to survive past the end of the final movie. The Twilight Saga brought us all together but the friendships made during the past 4-5 years will continue. Thank you Summit for making our fan experience so great. I for one will be in LA as I had already bought my plane tickets and more then just the premiere, I am looking forward to having time with my Twilight friends and seeing Hollywood for the first time.   35. I understand the PR aspect, however, why go through all the trouble of registration, random selection, and different check in times? Why not issue a wristband similar to what they’ve done in the past, but with the group # and line #, that way we don’t have to camp out or can come and go.

    I was at the New Moon premiere and my sister and I thought the camping out was the funnest part. Just thought that might be a good solution to people who have issues.

  36. Where is the link for registration? I thought I found it, but it says that the website is down for maintenance. It is now 2:45pm PDT. Am I missing something?

    • The site you’re on is probably the right one. Registration was open at 12 just like they said it was going to be. I already registered. I’m not sure if the site crashed or if they legitimately are doing site maintenance right now. If it is just site maintenance, I would suggest trying again later. Registration is open until Monday at noon.

    • They’ve postponed the announcement until tomorrow. They’re hoping everyone will be notified by the end of the day tomorrow.

        Not to be crazy… But when you say “end of the day” lol do you mean like midnight on the west coast? Or like the business day?

  39. I’m assuming they mean midnight pacific time. I doubt it will take them that long, but they’re probably just covering their bases if it ends up taking longer to sort through the duplicate entries. According to my friend from HGE, they’re supposed to start doing the drawing tonight. Who knows though. :)

      I do have one other question though. My group consists of three people. Two of which will be there (if chosen) on the day we are assigned. I, however, will not be flying in until 11/11. So, does it matter if the entire group isn’t there at the same time? Does the entire group have to be there to get in or will I be forfeitting my ticket?

      • Yes you must camp and be on time this year says:

        Yes, you will be disqualified by not being their at your assigned time, and really people should not have registered if they could not be there at that time. You MUST be there on the 8th, they will make few exceptions.

        • I live in CT, and booked my trip once the premiere date was released without knowing that it would be a random drawing. My group is already in CA with the exception of myself so we didn’t think that it would be a problem.

I’m not sure how they plan to do that… If they go according to the rules, it seems like the people in your group that are there at the correct check-in time will be able to get in, but anyone who isn’t there will forfeit their spot. Of course they did throw in that “case-by-case” addendum, so they could possibly change their minds with the right circumstances. I would suggest waiting until they pick their fans, and if you’re chosen, email them and ask.
    This is just a fan’s point of view, by the way, I’m not pretending to know anything special. It’s just my opinion from what I’ve read in the rules and FAQ.

    The confirmation email for camping says the address you registered with must match the address on your photo ID, but my ID has my home address, in Northern California, and i registered with my college campus email, here in LA. Will that be okay?
