I agree, they definately should not wait more than six months to release part two, a year is much too long to wait!

    • While I am also very excited about part 2 and want them to release it sooner, I do not think some fans realize how extensive the process of making a movie is. They have finished filming part 2 but have barely started the post production process for it. That takes a lot of time and effort and Condon is still finishing up part 1 and finalizing it. He had to do the score last month and make sure the soundtrack was finalized. Plus, he has to do promoting for the first film as well. Once that is all over, he has to start finalizing Part 2 even if his crew has already started that.

That is a reason why Chris Weitz did not do Eclipse even though the studio and cast loved him. The release date for Eclipse would be too quick for one director to do a good job of it. So while yes, the production of filming both movies is done, editing, sound, score, soundtrack, special effects and so forth are not finished. I think it is asking a lot of Condon to do everything that he is doing in such a short amount of time, so while a year might seem like forever for the fans, it is right around the corner for the director and crew who have to manage to get out the next film within a year. Oh and let’s not forget special features and extras for BD Part 1 DVD that he will have to work on before Part 2 is released. I think that is asking a lot.

These will be the last two films of the saga and then the whole experience will be over. I know instant gratification is what fans love, but let’s remember that the longer we have between films means the longer we can enjoy this ride that has been this franchise. For that reason, I am not so quick to want it to end. Plus, I love the films coming out in November. Eclipse in the summer felt very odd.
