Hourglass by Myra McEntire

We here at the Lexicon would like to wish Myra McEntire a very happy book birthday on June 14th.  Myra has been an incredible supporter of the Lexicon for years and has helped at several of the movie events in Nashville.

I’ve had the chance to read Hourglass and trust me this book makes for an excellent summer read.  The writing is witty and snarky.  Emerson is one of the sassiest main characters I’ve ever met and she isn’t going to let anyone push her around.  Enter Michael, the boy who has the answers, well some of them, and a wicked smile.  The story is fast paced and filled with memorable characters. (just wait until you meet Kaleb)  Add in the timeslip factor and you have a truly unique story.

Myra is embarking on a brand new adventure as her book makes its way into the world. Please help Myra celebrate her big day by tweeting her (@MyraMcEntire) use the #Hourglass or leaving a comment below.  And what would a party be without presents?!?!?  We are giving away a SIGNED copy of Hourglass.  Leave a comment below to be entered for the chance to win.  The contest is open internationally and will close on June 19th at 11PM EST.

Synopsis

Since the age of fourteen, Emerson Cole has seen strange things – dead things – swooning Southern Belles, soldiers, and other eerie apparitions of the past. She’s tried everything to get rid of the visions: medication, counseling, asylums. Nothing’s worked.

So when Emerson’s well-meaning brother calls in yet another consultant from a mysterious organization called the Hourglass, Emerson’s willing to give it one last try.

Michael Weaver is no ordinary consultant. He’s barely older than she is; he listens like no one she’s ever met before; and he doesn’t make her feel the least bit crazy. As Emerson ventures deeper into the world of the Hourglass, she begins to learn the truth about her past, her future–and her very life.
