Peter Facinelli Interviewed By The Futon Critic

The Futon Critic talked to Peter Facinelli about shooting Nurse Jackie and shooting comedies and dramas:

“JH: You do a lot of comedy in ‘Nurse Jackie’ but you’ve also done darker dramas like ‘Damages’ or even the ‘Twilight’ movies. Is there a major switch you have to flip to get into those more dramatic roles?

PF: They’re different muscles but I enjoy being able to explore the different muscles. For me, I like being able to go and do something dramatic and then the next project do something completely different. If I had to do three dramatic roles in a row I’d get bored pretty quick. I’m happy right now because I have something where I can do more comedy but even on ‘Nurse Jackie’ the more dramatic I am on that show the more Coop is funny. I don’t try to play things for laughs but I just play them as real as can be. In some scenes I’ll go and break down and cry and it’s hysterical.”

Michael Sheen’s The Passion 3-Day Recap

We’ve been telling you how Michael Sheen brought a modern version of the classic Passion Play to his home town of Port Talbot, Wales. The show took place in open air venues all over town and literally had a cast of 1,000′s (locals and professionals). By all accounts it was a stunning success, beyond anyone’s expectations.

There is a fabulous write up here on the Daily Mail with excellent pictures that recap all three days of performance.  Please realize that some pictures are graphic in nature as they depict the crucifixion of Michael Sheen as a Christ-figure.

A special TY to Pixie for finding us the link that best recapped everything with photos from all three days!

Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide Debuts in Number 1 Postion on the New York Times Best Seller List

The New York Times has more categories and subcategories for its bestseller lists than we can count. They used to just have two lists: one for fiction and one for nonfiction. Cue three J.K Rowling novels locking up the one, two, and three portions for over two years and they then subdivided their list and recently subdivided more.

They have placed The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide in their Children’s Chapter Book section. We thought it would end up in the self help and miscellaneous section because that’s where the movie companions usually go, but it looks like the New York Times had other ideas. The Twilight novels themselves usually appear in the Children’s Series section where books by the same author on the same topic go after they hit the third book in a story line. They are not currently in the top ten.

So for those of you keeping track, in its debut week, The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide did the following

  1. USA Today Number 4
  2. Wall Street Journal Number 1
  3. New York Times Number 1

Daily Twimes Interviews Guri Weinberg

The daily Twimes website had a great interview with Guri Weinberg. Check it out:

“Cat: Welcome! You are joining Cat &Emma on The Daily Twimes. You can find us at blogspot.dailytwimes.com or on twitter at dailytwimes. Today, we are chatting across the globe in Wisconsin, the U.K… and in L.A. we have the very talented, Guri Weinberg, who plays Stefan in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Guri: Hi! [waves]

Cat: Thank you Guri for joining us!

Guri: Thanks for inviting me!

Emma: So… what was your reaction after you were cast in Breaking Dawn and who was the first person you told?

Guri: Well, I was ecstatic. My manager’s assistant is a HUGE Twilight fan, so she kept screaming into the phone while I got the news. I told my wife first. My wife was happy I got to FINALLY play a vampire. I had always wanted to play a vampire.

Cat: Your wife has great taste! Now, were you already interested in the Twilight Saga before you got the part? Had you read the books or watched the movies?

Emma: Apart from homework!

Guri: I didn’t know too much about the Twilight series before I got the role. In fact, when the part first came up, I told my manager I didn’t think I was right for it. My manager’s assistant called me saying, “It’s TWILIGHT, Guri. Not only will you audition but you BETTER get the role! I WANT TO MEET STEPHENIE!!!”

The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide Hits Number 1 on Wall Street Journal List

We already told you about the Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide hitting the USA Today bestseller list in the number four position. USA Today, is the only list that we know of that puts every single book in the same list from cookbooks to novels. The Wall Street Journal, on the other hand, subdivides its list. They have five categories: Hardcover Fiction, Hardcover Non-Fiction, Hardcover Business, Hardcover Sports and Recreation, and Spotlight on House and Home. Given their categories they have placed the Guide in the Hardcover non-fiction section, which we confess does seem a little odd. We’re assuming that any type of guide ends up there. The Official Illustrated Guide has debuted in their number one position.
