Ashley Greene Talks Breaking Dawn in MTV’s 11 to Watch in 2011

Ashley Greene has been named by MTV as a rising star to watch in 2011:

“The year begins with the debut of the Sundance indie “Skateland,” an ’80s coming-of-age tale. Then it’s on to “LOL,” a comedy in which she stars as a bad girl opposite Miley Cyrus. And don’t forget about “The Apparition,” a supernatural thriller that brings “Twilight” together with “Harry Potter” (Tom Felton) and “Gossip Girl” (Sebastian Stan), and the ensemble comedy, “Butter.” Oh, yeah — plus the first part of “Breaking Dawn.”

Yep, it’s going to be a big year for Greene. That’s why we’ve named her as one of MTV News’ 11 to Watch in 2011. During a break from the “Breaking Dawn” set in Louisiana, the actress answered some questions via e-mail, hitting on subjects like working with Cyrus, her most anticipated “Breaking Dawn” scene and what it was like to see Kristen Stewart as a vampire.

MTV: 2011 is shaping up to be a big year for you, coming off all the “Twilight” exposure and now having some prominent roles in “The Apparition,” “LOL” and a bunch of other projects coming down the line. Does 2011 feel like it’s going to be a particularly big year?

Ashley Greene: Definitely. I’m very excited for it. While it will be sad to finish filming the last installment of “The Twilight Saga,” I’m grateful to have so much to look forward to. There’s so much going on and so many wonderful opportunities popping up for 2011, and somehow I feel very zen…

MTV: Kristen Stewart said at the People’s Choice Awards that she filmed some scenes as a vampire. What was your reaction to seeing Kristen as a vamp?

Greene: Glad to have her officially join the Cullen family!”

  1. I’m interested in the fight scene she mentioned. I was disappointed in the way the “fighting” read in the book. It was very undramatic. I’m hoping for more actual fighting in the film.

  2. Ooooooo in the text of the article Ashley admits
to a big fight with the Volturi in Breaking Dawn.
    How exciting, yeah, BC.

    • I read that the fight she’s referring to is probably the vision that she has that causes her and Jasper to run to S. America. Either way, it means some ACTION!

      • Yeah – I’m wondering if they are going to film her visions before her and Jasper leave or if Melissa is adding in fighting (which would dramatically change the BD ending).
I was surprised she said that because the battle in the field ends in not battling. Interesting comment.

  3. No surprise they will add action/fighting in Breaking Dawn. They’ve done that with all the previous films. I just hope it doesn’t go far too off. SM said in the FAQ’s for BD on her website she wanted it to be a mental game & that if there was a real fight the end a lot of characters would have died. And it would have sucked to have some favorite characters die. :( And that The Merchant of Venice title page that Alice wrote her note on was a clue there wouldn’t be much actual action/fighting.

  4. A bit unrelated — but does anyone know what happened to the weekly Twitter summary of Twilight stuff out of Baton Rouge? I really looked forward to that while it was running!

  5. The Apparition also has UK Skins star Luke Pasqualino in it! I can’t wait for that one!!

  6. I think it’s funny that she’s been around since 2008 when Twilight came out, and she’s still being called a rising star almost 3 years later. I think she’s already arrived, mtv! :)
