A Twilight Fan, ALS, and A Tale of Friendship

I saw this up on Yahoo’s homepage. As it played out, I noticed the various Twilight posters on the walls in the background. The story is a sad one, but it also has a great message on the power of love and friendship.

AOL has the entire story here.

Aw… that was so sad and bittersweet at the same time.

  2. Twilight_News says:

According to the write up on YouTube, “Two teens, Sabrina Parker and Matthew Scozzari, decide to take a chance on love, while there is still time. Sabrina, 16, is suffering from ALS, what is supposed to be an ‘old person’s disease.’ It also killed her mother and a grandmother.”

  3. I saw it too. It really makes you appreciate what you have & when you’re healthy.

  4. Thank you for sharing this touching story.

  5. You can also tell that her birthday cake is Twilight-themed as well.

  7. I read this story on MSN yesterday and cried most of the way through it. It is a beautiful testament to the strength of the human spirit. My prayers are with the families of both Matt and Sabrina. Life and Love are truly a blessing. Matt is strong young man with a huge heart. I hope that he finds peace and joy in what is sure to be a painful time.

  8. Twilight Nymph says:

I just read this and I thought it was both very sad, but sweet in a way. The way he stayed and struggled with her till the end showed how much he loved her. Yet, it also made me think about how this girl just kind of gave up, she seemed like she didn’t want to have to struggle. Yet, in a way I understand her. I have an auto immune disease and for a while I though of just giving up all together. It’s a tough road having to be on medication and having limitations. Yet, to avoid the pain and deformation I decided to accept treatment.
Yet, like I said I understand her and one shouldn’t have to be forced to suffer if one doesn’t want to. I’m just glad that she at least got to know love before she went.

    • I didn’t see it as much as giving up, but more or less holding out as long as she could. ALS is a terrible disease, and I’m sure she fought long and hard. I think she was holding out just enough to be with Matt one last time, before she said good-bye forever.

  9. Thank you so much for sharing this story, it’s heart breaking! Some say that we the young ones don’t understand what’s around us or we can’t truly understand somebody’s else feelings, but Sabrina and Matt proved differently and gave all of us a true life story, that we have to appreciate that we are healthy and we are loved, all the other things fade.

  10. Thank you for this touching story of young love. Our hearts go out to the families of Sabrina and Matt.

  13. That’s beautiful.
