MTV: Sofia Coppola and Adam Brody Talk About Twilight

Sofia Coppola was among the names that surfaced as a possible director for Breaking Dawn until Bill Condon landed the gig. MTV caught up with Sofia. Here’s what she had to say about Breaking Dawn and Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as actors.

“”Yeah, yeah, I talked to them about that,” Coppola revealed to MTV News. “I was interested in doing something but I didn’t end up doing it. But I love, I’m impressed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison pulling it off in that whole story,” she said. “And my friend’s kids love the story so much that I thought it would be fun to make something that they love so much.”

Adam Brody expressed regret for comments made on Diablo Cody’s Red band Trailer about Kristen Stewart and essentially how she should just quit the business if she couldn’t deal with the paparazzi.  There was a large backlash against him and others like, Ming Na who made comments on Twitter, from fans who stated that they didn’t have the right to judge since they (although they are in the entertainment business) have personally never experienced the daily level of intrusion that both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart face.

  1. He hasn’t experienced that type of fame but Robert, & Taylor have and they really don’t act like Kristen. Maybe thats what he was talking about. Although its probably bad form to say it about a fellow actor in an interview… its not about honesty in Hollywood folks.

    • It’s also different for the guys. Like Kristen has said in the past. They could do anything and just get an out pour of love, yet Kristen gets backhanded for the littlest thing.

  2. Choosing a certain career does NOT mean accepting everything about it! Certainly not when it comes to the paperazzi! Being an actress does not equal having a life without any privacy, freedom, or whatever.. Hope she is able to have a somewhat normal life soon..

  3. I believe he didn’t mean to be rude. But he did bad saying that. it was kind of rude. I like him and his work. But I don’t think it’s his place to say that. Each person deals with fame the way they can.

  4. @K
Ever wonder why they send men to war instead of women? It was known that men have thicker armour than women, so expect that Rob and Taylor will never react to mobs like Kristen does.

  5. ..and BTW, Brody is an idiot!

  6. who is he and what does he know of being hounded by thousands of screaming crazy fans? what does he knew of having his face and personal details splattered across countless magazines and websites?

johnny depp moved to france and sometimes doesn’t leave his compound for months at a time to escape the paparazzi. should he quit the business as well?

  7. Who is he to judge? I agree with that. He was not entirely wrong, though. I know, they’re still human beings, just like you and me, and as such they deserve to be respected and to have a private life. I mean, nobody would want someone intruding in their lives like that. However, I can’t help but think that it is terribly naive to think that you can become a famous actor and the paparazzi will leave you alone. Sure, you don’t have to accept everything but it’s part of it, it comes with the “package” (like money and fame) wether you like it or not. Everyone knows that. They should have known. SHE should have known. I mean, you can’t keep complaining forever, it will not change a thing, the paparazzi won’t disappear. So you will have to deal with it someday… or you will have to quit it. Brody’s right about that. Sure, it was not his place to say it, but still…
