They never should have asked. Certainly this is not the first celebrity to be called to serve jury duty in LA. They should have known better. It's unfortunate, but they knew what the risks were - they violated the privacy and confidentiality of a jury member (celebrity or not, it doesn't matter) by just taking the photo (the posting only makes it worse).
