  10. Christine Fox says:

That’s good. But i was hoping that New Moon would have been nominated for something this years. Does anyone else agree with me here?

    • Rosie says:

      yeah i know

    • Carrie says:

One of the songs from the soundtrack should have been nominated.

    • Jane says:

Are you serious? As much as I enjoy the movies, it should not and doesn’t deserve to be nominated for anything.

    • cmomma says:

No offense, but we are all delusional if we believe any Twilight movie will ever be nominated for an Academy Award.

But hey! We can all rejoice at the multiple Razzies New Moon has been nominated for! <3

      • birdy says:

twilight anything.. movies that have basically made men feel like widowers and completely jealous, will not get any recognition from the predominately male movie industry. have you SEEN all the nasty reviews from all those middle-aged male critics of the movies? i laughed my bottom off when i read every single male reviewer dedicating at least one paragraph complaining about the shirtless wolves in new moon. this after never complaining once about gratuitous female nude scenes in every other movie. hilarious.

second, anna kendrick is a fine actress and all but she didn’t do anything crazy amazing in up in the air. she is merely fortunate enough to be a part of a movie where the people involved had mucho connections in hollywood. everyone knows the oscars are based on who you know and it’s a way for them to scratch each other’s backs to create buzz around movies that would otherwise receive no real attention. no one even cares what they say anymore. they’ve been discredited. it’s a popularity contest among the hollywood elite. the oscars always snub everything sci-fi or fantasy. they snubbed lord of the rings all the way until ROTK but they had lots of pressure and gave in. personally, i think those actors are scared they can be replaced by technology as the formula is changing from big name actors to exciting graphics.

        • M.P. says:

***BRAVO!!!*** I couldn’t expressed better than that!!!! It’s good to see that I’m not the only one who thinks this way! :O

  11. Rosie says:

Congrats Anna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah I Hoped New Moon Would Be Nominated Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Gaby says:

Congrats to Anna she was amazing in the movie!!!!!!!!!! I’m soooo glad she’s being recognized.

  13. Nora says:

wow new moon couldnt win an award if it tried the twilight movies really arent the best. there are many many other better movies out there

  14. muse7 says:

    Congrats!

  15. Alicia says:

Congrats to Anna. And to The Hurt Locker! Way to go!!!!

  16. mandylee. says:

Congrats to Anna. Personally, i think she’s one of the only talented people involved in the Twilight movies. Including the soundtrack…ouch.

Anyway, did anyone else think that 500 Days of Summer totally got snubbed?

    • Julie M. says:

Are you serious? Puuhleeze! Do not even go there.

    • cmomma says:

I totally agree, on both things! Anna Kendrick is by far, one of the most talented actresses of young hollywood, today. I was very dissapointed at the Vanity Fair cover for many reasons, one of them being the fact that Anna wasn’t featured on the cover alongside Carey Mulligan. Her and Carey Mulligan are both now critically-acclaimed actresses, with Oscar noms at such young ages!

And yes… I was also surprised 500 Days of Summer didn’t get a nomination for Best Original Screenplay. I guess the ‘Up’ nomination “robbed” their place. But, hey, that’s what makes the Academy numero uno in critical acclaim — they always bring the surprises!

      • birdy says:

johnny depp was never critically acclaimed for a LONG time. critically acclaimed means nothing.

        • birdy says:

and lets not forget how fast all those critically acclaimed actors and actresses fall off the map. kstew definitely has staying power as she’s got this special allure. ask a man if he remembers anna kendrick and he’ll say no.

        • lake s says:

Depp has gotten praise since the start of his film career. As much as I love the Twilight books, the movies really aren’t all that. Anna was one of the most engaging and charismatic of the actors. I know there are tons of Kristen fans here, but she has the charisma of an ant. She plays the angsty/moody teen in every movie. I’m also amazed by the almost cult-like devotion to some of the Twilight stars.

    • Pamela says:

No offense but Anna Kendrick is definitely not the only talented actor in the Twilight series. First off, Rob & Kristen are majorly talented. Kristen by herself is like off the charts OOZING with talent. Nikki Reed, Mike Welch, Ashley Green, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli…oh my gosh do I have to go on? These people are uberly talented! I am totally happy for Anna but you’re totally off base to say she’s the only talented one in the bunch.

      • Julie M. says:

        Well said!!!!!!!

      • Mich says:

kinda funny that kellan, nikki and jackson are listed as actors that have tons of talent… they only have like 2 lines in each of the movies… not really enough time for me to gauge their talent by. i don’t know how they each have such huge fan bases for how small their roles have been in the movies so far. i’m not saying they’re bad actors or anything, just that there’s not enough material to even judge them by yet.
and yeah i do love twilight (the books much more so than the movies, but i do enjoy the movies as well) but the idea that the movies should be nominated for an oscar is completely laughable.

  17. safina says:

Congrats Anna! I’m truly happy for you!

  18. Pamela says:

WOW! WHAT A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! CONGRATS ANNA!

  19. abigael_d says:

    WOW.
    this. is. INCREDIBLE….

congrats to Anna! and i wish her more success in the future…
    :D

  20. M.P. says:

Yep, good for her… but, you know… I don’t want to sound bitter, but all that fuss is ‘cuz she’s worked with Mr. Cloney?? Hmmm???? Anyway, this is a very good news. Good lucky Anna!!! ;) & I don’t hold any high expectations in this awards, though. **sighs**… After seeing the list… well, it will be very desappointing… :|

  21. Kate says:

OMG!!!! I’m so exited she definetley deserved that nom, she was great in up in the air. To be honest, i was dissapointed New Moon didn’t get nominated for best score or best cinematography. Harry Potter got nominated for goodness sakes. :(

    • Maria says:

that’s because, unlike twilight hp has amazing actors music costumes and set designs. I love twilight but the movies are bad unlike hp where it’s all round good.

      • lake s says:

Kristen was born into Hollywood. Her parents have been in the movie and telly biz as behind the scenes players a very long time. It probably wasn’t very hard for her to break in the business, especially since she seems to prefer indies.

  22. lake s says:

I’ve never seen an HP movie or read the books, but I think some people who are Twilight fans are a bit blinded by their devotion to the series and/or certain actors. Other than Peter or Anna, none have them done anything outside of their range or regular repertoire.

  23. Thinker says:

    lol
this is really great for her as she was quite good in UITA, but the nomination is essentially the award for her; there’s no way she’s going to beat mo’nique for the Oscar. i’m sure she knows it, too. it’s good that she’s out there showing the world that at least SOME of the twilight cast is talented.

  24. Mich says:

i didn’t see up in the air so i can’t comment on how deserving she is of this nomination, however, when i watched twilight the first time, even though anna has a minor roll, i was by far the most impressed with her performance out of the whole bunch. i watched the movie before i read the book so i didn’t have any idea of the character she was trying to portray, but i think she totally nailed it. and i was really impressed with mike too. i came away from watching twilight for the first time thinking that the two best actors were wasted in fairly small roles (although they were perfectly cast, and i don’t think they would have worked for the leads at all).

  25. gina snow says:

I saw every movie Anna Kendrick has been in including CAMP, has anyone seen that? I’ve seen it over 30 times. I am her most loyal fan. How can I get her manager Kim Eva Matuka to work with me too. I can be her number 3 star. Anna please help me if you are reading this.

  26. Sami says:

I loved her in the twilight seris good luck can’t wait to see up in the air
