Anna Kendrick and Taylor Lautner at the Golden Globes

Anna Kendrick and Taylor Lautner were dressed to the nines for the 2010 Golden Globes. Taylor will be a presenter and Anna was nominated for her breakout role in Up in the Air. Anna didn’t take the prize home tonight, but we at the Lexicon are still very proud of her work and wish her congrats and the best of luck for an Oscar nod this year.

  1. Angela says:

I’m sad that Anna did not win but I LOVE her dress! She looks great!

  2. Kathryn says:

Too bad that Anna didn’t win. Loved her dress…except for that poofiness on her shoulder. Taylor looked awesome, too. His jacket looks a little tight in that picture, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. LOL!

  3. Lorraine says:

Thank goodness we have Taylor to be the spokesperson at all these awards shows for us! Where are Rob and Kristen?

Plus Anna looked beautiful tonight. I’m sure she’ll get many more nominations in the future. :)

  4. amanda says:

i totally think Ana should have won! I am shocked Precious won out! That movie is stupid i mean who would want to watch a movie about an obese black girl who is raped by her father! Gross!

    • M.P. says:

**Ahem** I do want to watch this movie… & I think your comment is a bit disrespectful, don’t you think? is that racism? If it is, well I think is time to put you on perspectives of live in check… you know, the world has changed.

Yes, this is one of the good few things that happend in this award. This movie is not gross, is sad,is totally wretched guts. & this girl played her part without turns it out in a stupid monologue. Hell, I am a twifan too, but I’m not biased… Anna’s lost this award, but @ least for someone with talent.

  5. Sonja says:

Anna looks wonderful. I thought she was great in Up in the Air, but not quite award-winning material… She’ll just keep getting better though, I know it!

  6. Keira says:

I missed Taylor, but Anna’s dress was lovely. Her hair was adorable. She looked like a million bucks. She took all that George Clooney nonsense like a pro.

  7. Umpteenth Twifan says:

I LOVED Anna’s dress. Very appropriate to the occasion. E! Online didn’t like it, and I don’t know WTF they’re thinking. Gorgeous!

Taylor’s tux? Meh. Only so many ways a guy can wear a tux, but…eh. Looked like prom, maitre’d, valet…meh.

    • Leanne says:

Loved Anna’s dress too ! I think we’ll see great things for her in the future so I’m sure she’s not too disappointed this time.

  8. Shayla says:

    lovein the bow tie!

  9. switzgal says:

Anna looked beautiful. Loved her hair! Taylor would look good in a paper sack so of course he looked good!! I’m proud of both of them. Anna getting nominated was so huge!! Taylor is so mature for his age in these events, speaking so well and always put together. This guy’s gonna be such a huge star.

  10. Kim says:

Anna looked beautiful and I’m dissapointed that she didn’t win. I think it’s funny that we now have a Golden Globe nominated actress doing a bit part in Eclipse.

  11. M.P. says:

Yep, Anna looked great, Taylor too. However, I am a little disappointed with Avatar winning the best drama, this movie was good, very entertraining, amazing CG & all that but drama… :(

    • Barbara says:

Avatar, Shmavatar. Haven’t seen it, don’t want to see it. Everyone I know who has seen it says the same thing: great CG, lousy or no real story. I am disappointed in the whole “awards” season. Not one nod to NM. No music, no score, no soundtrack/song, no editing, NOTHING.

The people who chose these “winners” need to start considering box office, popularity, fan-base. The Twilight Saga is a global phenomenon. It should be rewarded as such.

As it stands now, chances are slim for NM to pick up any Oscar nods. It would be nice to see Alexandre DesPlat pick up a nomination for score. Michael Sheen should be nominated for supporting actor, but won’t get it. (For shame.)

“Shakespeare in Love” won best picture over “Saving Private Ryan” because the studio campaigned for it. C’mon Summit, get on the ball. Rickey Gervais was right….you can buy these awards.

      • Tina says:

uhm, please don’t delude yourself into thinking that New Moon would be a serious contester for any such awards. I love the books and the films too but that doesn’t mean that they have to be Oscar material…they are not. And as for your argument that commercial aspects should be taken into account as well, some previous winners were commercially really successful, as is Avatar. Furthermore, I really do hope that you realise that it is a committee of professionals who award filmmakers for their achievement and that the lobbying by a large fan base doesn’t and shouldn’t have much say in this affair. I don’t mean to say that there is no lobbying going on…there is.
In my opinion, this whole “Twilight series” (god I hate that name) is way too big, way too commercial and way too hard trying to please everyone.

      • Tina says:

Taylor should seriously start standing upright and straight. This lean is getting ridiculous

  12. Sia says:

I think Anna looked beautiful and I’m happy for her. But I’m so disappointed in this award show. I love Sandra but Carey Mulligan should of won for best actress she was great in An Education. And Avatar was good but it shouldn’t have won and I think Katherine Bigelow for Hurt Locker should of won for director but that’s just me.

  13. Barbara says:

Anna was absolutley stunning in her gown. It was playful and youthful. Too many younger actresses try to look older than they are, and it really is unbecoming. That being said, Taylor needs to find a tailor (no pun intended) to properly fit his suits and tuxedos. The jacket was way too tight, and made him look like a kid who didn’t know how to properly dress himself. Now before all you “Team Jacob” folks get your undies in a bunch, hear me out. He has a “staff” and probably paid a lot of hard earned money for his tux. He has kept himself in great shape, and needs to have his clothing tailored to fit him better. I agree with “Umpteenth TwiFan.” Taylor needs custom-made, not off the rack. Just a little tweaking to the jacket. I’m not saying her looked bad; he just could have looked better.

  14. Alicia says:

Anna looked gorgeous. Taylor looked handsome, as usual. I’ve noticed that many of the men seemed to have donned ill-fitting jackets (or at least what I felt were ill-fitting). After listening to comments about the fashions at the show, however, it seems that is the style: these very tight-fitting jackets. Everyone can’t pull off the various trends, so they should just stick to what works best for them.

  15. Amy says:

I was really disappointed in the winners last night. I thought that many people who deserved to win didn’t. Up In The Air was an amazing movie, and I think that Anna should have won best supporting actress. I see why Avatar won best drama, but I like Up In The Air better than Avatar overall…

  16. safina says:

I wish she had won, but a nomination at the Golden Globes is still a big achievement. Congrats to Anna!

  17. Renie says:

Anna looked stunning at the “Globes”. Her performance in Up In the Air was awesome.
