Ron Howard Talks About His Daughter’s Eclipse Experience

    Aww Richie Cunningham. How sweet.

To the interviewer: It’s not “Rachel.” It’s “Rachelle.”

  2. Lauren says:

Give me a break does anyone really care what he thinks about his daughters experience told by him from Bryce. This role was taken away from Rachelle unfairly and I for one am going to hate every second Bryce is in eclipse.

    • mschicklet says:

LOL you tell ‘em! I felt the same way for a while (I still don’t like the rumors about Ron Howard doing Breaking Dawn) but I blame Summit (aka Scummit) more than Bryce for the Rachelle thing. Bryce has been handling her interviews very well :)

    • Steven says:

Give me a break! Do you think that Summit wanted to replace Rachelle?! No! She cost *herself* the Eclipse movie by over committing to an independent film! She would have cost the Eclipse shoot 10 days, so they were forced to look elsewhere. If you are looking for someone to blame, look no further than Rachelle.

  3. Lauren says:

I agree with you mschicklet that it’s summits fault but at the same time Bryce could have declined the role. If Ron Howard directs BD i will not go see it in theaters I will wait for DVD.

  4. vampbball says:

I love Ron Howard (I too thought of Richie!), and I wish he could have had a better interviewer. That was a very thoughtful response he gave to the inane question, “Do you wish you would have spotted this first?” “Touching people’s lives who are looking for entertainment,” I love it.

  5. Uh Huh says:

I blame summit for being weak fools for hoping that by doing Ron Howard this favor that perhaps he will do a movie for them. Theres not a shot it will be breaking dawn. I also blame Bryce for continuing to ride on daddys shoulders. Shes a waste of space with no talent who does nothing but take roles from other people who may do something worth while with the part.

  6. Uh Huh says:

Even in this interview daddys trying to make sure that no one blames her or gets mad. Its pathetic. Apparently him getting her the role wasnt enough. Why doesnt she go out there and build her own career.

    • Steven says:

Why do you think that Ron got her the role? I think that you are wrong! Bryce is perfectly capable of landing a role all by herself. She is a capable actress and a beautiful woman who doesn’t need daddy making any phone calls for her. Besides, she didn’t even let him read the script, which leads me to believe that she owed him NOTHING. Do you think that he made some phone calls and got Bryce the role because she couldn’t land this role by herself? Prove it or stop being negative about the whole thing. She’ll do great and you’ll be embarrassed that you were so negative.

  7. Barbara says:

Yes, it’s me again, trying to knock some sense into you folks. Rachelle breached her contract. Blame her agent for not reading the fine print and scheduling her for another movie during the Eclipse filming. As for Ron Howard and his ability as a director. Hmmm. Let’s see now, just taking into account the Hollywood Foreign Press (Golden Globs) and the Academy Awards…..Apollo 13, best picture/director nominee. A Beautiful Mind, best picture/director winner. Not to mention Changeling, Cocoon, I could go on. Nope, terrible director. For those of you who can’t stick to topic and just rasve on….that’s sarcasm.

    • Barbara says:

Oops, sorry. That’s just “rave” on. I also forgot to include Frost/Nixon nominated for best picture/director. Some guy named Michael Sheen was in that!

    • Maelina says:

I don’t see anyone here commenting on Ron Howard’s skills as a director, what are you talking about? As for the Rachelle incident, none of us know what really went down, all we can do is believe what Summit told us or what Rachelle told us. Many of us tend to believe Rachelle.

  8. CD says:

Ron Howard is an amazing director and his daughter BD cannot be blamed for what happened with Rachelle. That was between Rachelle and Summit. If BD had turned the role down, Summit would have inevitably found someone else to replace Rachelle if that was their intention.

  9. cmomma says:

To Barbara and CD, I whole-heartedly agree with both of your statements. We mustn’t forget that he was also the executive producer for the best television comedy of all time: ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!

No offense to my fellow Twilight Fans, but Breaking Dawn is beneath him and his film cred. He doesn’t need the Twilight saga or its horrible movies (according to rottentomatoes and other film sources) to advance his career because HE’S ALREADY MADE IT! He’s RON FREAKING HOWARD! A legend!
