Ashley Greene Does SoBe Shoot

According to the press release:

“Nothing comes between Ashley Greene and her SoBe. Nothing….zero! And to prove it, “The Twilight Saga” actress is celebrating the launch of SoBe Lifewater’s newest 0 calorie flavors – Cherimoya Punch and Strawberry Dragonfruit – by posing in SoBe skinsuits for the pages of Sports Illustrated’s iconic Swimsuit issue. The advertising spread from SoBe, a vibrant PepsiCo brand, appears exclusively in the eagerly-anticipated 2010 edition which hits newsstands Wednesday, February 10.

Designed by make-up artist Joanne Gair, the two intricately hand-painted SoBe skinsuits were inspired by the new, exotic SoBe Lifewater 0 calorie flavors, Cherimoya Punch and Strawberry Dragonfruit, and take their design cues from the SoBe bottles – from the painted scales right down to SoBe’s signature lizard.

Participating in the SoBe skinsuit campaign was a no brainer for Greene, a self-proclaimed SoBe fan. “Being a part of the SoBe skinsuit shoot in the Turks and Caicos was amazing,” said Ashley Greene, who calls the detailed bikini and one-piece SoBe skinsuits real works of art. “It took the artist 12 hours to paint the SoBe scales on each skinsuit, but it was totally worth it. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.”

Known for blending the unexpected, SoBe Lifewater’s two newest 0 calorie flavors – Cherimoya Punch and Strawberry Dragonfruit – are infused with vitamins, antioxidants, and herbal ingredients. The revolutionary 0 calorie, all-natural sweetener, PureVia, offers a full-flavor taste without the calories. SoBe products are available for purchase at stores nationwide.

According to Angelique Krembs, SoBe marketing director, Ashley’s SoBe skinsuit shoot was yet another unexpected twist from the SoBe brand. “The images of Ashley modeling her SoBe skinsuits on the beach and in the jungle say zero calories, zero inhibitions and uninhibited fun; they’re emblematic of the SoBe brand personality…and the SoBe drinker,” she said. “I think the ad shows just how good life with zero can look.”

Also being announced is SoBe’s “Zero Calories, Zero Inhibitions Vegas Sweepstakes” which runs from Wednesday, January 6 through Friday, January 29 on SoBe.com. One lucky winner – and three of his or her fortunate friends – will win tickets to the hottest party the year – the invite-only 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition launch in Las Vegas. “We’re offering SoBe fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience to party in Vegas, with SI models, on our tab,” said Krembs. “Plus, when you enter at SoBe.com, you can also check out the behind-the-scenes footage from Ashley’s SoBe skinsuit photo shoot.”

  1. Luz says:

She’s absolutely gorgeous! I read the scrip of her movie The Apparition and it was really nice! I’m so hooked for it, wish her all the success.

  2. Lily Cullen says:

Oh my gosh, that was painted on her!

  3. vampire-girl says:

Wow amazing she looks like she’s having so much fun, a positive role model

  4. James says:

Yes, she’s amazing, but positive roll model? Um, she’s naked. It’s obvious. And specific. Yikes.

  5. bee says:

Yeah, I don’t think I would say that any swim suit models are a positive roll model when they are laying perched in the sand like that. Yes, she is beautiful, and yes, I am jealous, but role model for this? No.

  6. Lauren says:

Before people rush to judge her get over it she is a role model. Actresses do occassiomally gasp pose semi nude it’s part of being an actress .

  7. JaneZ says:

BAREly painted on and VERY specific! She was naked with paint on. Naked. 12 hours to have people painting your privates… just weird. But, she always has been quite the tart.

  8. Sterling Snow says:

    Um, wow. Not expecting that.

Yeah, she’s an actress, and an adult, and she can do whatever she wants. I just didn’t think posing naked was something she’d do. My opinion of her has seriously gone down :(

  9. switzgal says:

OMG that’s just so drastic for her to do. She must’ve gotten paid a lot of do this. I mean you can see her pubes at one part and she’s in front of all these men.
    WOW… that was pretty risque.
Christian Serratos also did a nude photo shoot for an anti-fur ad.

These girls aren’t as innocent as they look and as we want them to be! Not really something I encourage or applaud, sorry just me very conservative view.

    • Pamela says:

Yeah I saw Christian Serratos’ PETA ad & boy it was really, uhhh, suggestive. Not sure if that’s the right word but yeah, in my opinion, I think it’s the most sexually provocative PETA ad I’ve seen (I haven’t seen much, only like 3 so not much of an opinion I guess).

But yes, Ashley is really beautiful. Kudos to her for doing this. I guess you’ve got to get whatever “exposure” you can when you’re ball is rolling!

  10. sara says:

Well, the girl can not act so she is using her body to further her career. Just imagine the roles she’ll get with this. If she wants a serious career, this was probably not a good choice.

  11. jessica says:

I think she looks AWESOME! Absolutely awesome! Stop hating people

  12. Michelle says:

Kristen Stewart would never do something like this. That’s something I think we can all agree on.

  13. emily says:

Actually Kristen will appear nude in her upcoming movie, Welcome to the Rileys.

  14. WannabeMrsCullen says:

I think she looks gorgeous, but see where all you haters are coming from. Still, she is are own woman and she can do as she pleases.

  15. JaneZ says:

Oh come one, it is annoying to call us haters because we disagree with this choice. I do not hate Ashley. I think she is at a point where she needs to be careful what she does and this is NOT a good choice. Would Meryl Streep have done this? Then again, Ashley is no Meryl…

    • safina says:

I agree with what you’ve said. I absolutely love Ashley, but I never expected her to do something like this.

  16. JaneZ says:

Actually if you go to Sobe . com you can see how bad this shoot really was.

  17. Donna says:

I think I read somewhere that her photo is going to be in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, right? If that’s true, then she’s getting some major exposure (pun intended!) and good pay. Plus…even though I know in my mind that she is indeed naked, the illusion of the suit is so real that unless I actually see her full frontal, they’ve fooled me. Very clever ad idea.

And let’s face it…this is what sells SI and that’s what guys want. Ashley’s just putting her god-given assets to use while they’re marketable. If I had her assets, by GOD, I’d use them!!! LOL

I think there’s some female jealousy going on here.

  18. Julie M. says:

Well said Donna! Women are the worst critics. Before Ashley got into acting, she originally wanted to model, so I’m glad she is getting an oppurtunity to do that. If I had a great body like that, I would be proud to show it off too. Ashley is gorgeous, so sweet, proud to be part of the Twilight Saga and I’m glad she’s part of this wonderful cast.

  19. i.had.a.dream.last.night says:

I’m surprised at how much negative criticism this is getting. She’s a gorgeous young actress who can do how she pleases. I’ve seen all the pictures, and -gasp- she’s naked. She’s absolutely beautiful, so she’s showing what she has. -shrug-

  20. JaneZ says:

Then she might as well do Playboy. I am sure she will. This will get Hef’s attention. Again, it is silly to call us jealous or haters. Grow up! Did you see the Sobe site? All the videos where everything was exposed? She is no better than Pam Anderson.

    • JaneZ says:

Oh, and just because you are a beauty does not mean you have to show the world ‘what you got.’

      Are you serious?

      • Sterling Snow says:

I agree JaneZ. In my opinion it’s demoralizing. As a woman you have more to offer the world than your body. You don’t have to “show what you got” to be beautiful.

I could *maybe* see why she would do this if it was supposed to be something artistic, or make an interesting statement. But as far as I can see, she’s using her body as a marketing tool. And I’m not ok with that.

        • cmomma says:

Feminism is about female empowmerment, confidence, and saying “F YOU” to everyone that critizes a woman for doing what she chooses. If Ashley Greene chose to pose nude in a photoshoot than I support what she is doing. Do you want to know what’s demoralizing for women? Sex trafficking, girls being sold into sexual slavery, fathers bidding their daughters, castration of women in many African tribes, domestic violence against women in Africa, Muslim girls being stripped of their human rights, etc.

As a woman, I’m grateful to live in a country where I can choose whether to become a risque model, a lawyer, sports player, mother, wife, anything! Isn’t that what we loved about Bella? That she was able to choose her destiny? (Even though some mysoginistic themes in the series are very arguable). So I must disagree with everyone that says “Ashley Greene isa bad role model”. Why? Because she;s doing what every woman deserves to do, and what every woman SHOULD do: whatever the *u** they want.

          • cmomma says:

            *domestic violence in america

          • Donna says:

My god cmomma. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Feminism has gotten extreme in some cases, but what it’s really all about is female freedom.

            Power to the girls!

          • JaneZ says:

Are you serious? What girls like Ashley do only adds fuel to these fires!

            Your post contradicts itself.

  21. emmis says:

wow I can’t believe she would do a nude one..goodness..some role model

  22. James says:

When the entire goal is to titillate men, its not a feminist statement. It is subjecting yourself, because of your sex, to men.

And for the girls out there who will look at the photos and feel badly for themselves — major, major photoshoping going on.

  23. Jadey says:

Obviously she didnt get paid enough doing these twi movies..

  24. Vickie says:

James, you said it well. I suppose you might get flack for stating your opinions on here when so many “feminist women” are voicing their opinion, but thank you for doing so anyways.

Such freedom that cmomma expresses above has both major faults and major truths. Is sex trafficking, domestic violence, and forced female circumcision wrong? OH MY GOSH, YES! But this freedom to do whatever the heck you please… is that right? NO.

Us “haters,” as many of you seem to call us, seem to be the only ones who retain a simple thing called “morals.” You might have heard of that ancient word. Just think back a bit. It’s what keeps us on a respect level that many have fallen from. Isn’t it, after all, what drew all of you into an imaginary infatuation with dearest Edward? His respect for Bella or was it strictly his physical description that was the sole selling-point for his popularity?

Gosh, women! This feminist thing is really ridiculous because most of the “women” who I have seen representing such a movement are spoiled brats that just want to have it all their way without anyone calling them out when they make stupid decisions that demoralize them.

Ashley Green is a talented actress and extremely beautiful. I’ve never met her, but I’m willing to bet that she has a great, bubbly personality in real life and would be fun to hang out with. Unfortunately, I would say that 9 out of 10 men who see this type of “artistic expression” would completely fail to see that.

Great job, feminism! YOU did what YOU wanted and posed nude! Good for YOU! Now men can just ogle you and forget that you are a living, breathing person and indulge themselves in all the fantasies they see fit. What a way to gain that respect, right?! Because we all know that if, Heaven forbid, women actually kept their clothes on, men wouldn’t pay us any respect at all. Yes, by ALL means, please feel free to take charge of your freedom and act as you see fit with no inhibitions or standards… even if it is absolutely absurd and undermining our sex more than you even know.

Statements can still be made without the removal of clothes. Great role models can still be great without the removal of clothes.

  25. dane says:

actually, what NIKKI REED said is true. Girls in Hollywood are just recycled in a sense in how they sell women’s sexuality. this is just a perfect example. if i were in such a position, i would just follow NIKKI and just fall under the radar. this way, you’ll have a more constant and divverse career.

  26. Pm says:

posing nude, to me, is not the problem. its WHY she posted nude- which was simply to use her body as a marketing tool for flavored water. posing for PETA, or some actual cause, or posing for something artistic, is totally different.

i’m not against nudity at all, i just think your body should be worth more than a bottle of purple water.

but hey, as so many have pointed out- its her choice.

  27. Saber says:

Seen the pictures, I’m a guy so I think she’s super hot in it and great but I personally wouldn’t want my nieces want to be like her and then she these and say if she did it then I should think about nude-ish modeling too. Don’t think this is what a role model should be doing for ADS that will be in sports illustrated not actually posing for that mag and I think it’s really cheap to do, it’s not some movie that might or might not get her acting praise but she’s already had those nude shots out online so I can see why she did this…world can already see her nude anytime by looking up those pics so why not get paid for it.

  28. Anna says:

Nudity should never bother anyone, it’s natural and beautiful. A puritan belief system has corrupted every one’s mind to think it is as just sexual. I’m sure all of you shower in a swimsuit.
    Get over it.
If you want to get miffed over an issue, how about you look at violence in films vs. sex in films. You can see someone get blown to bits in “Saving Private Ryan” but can’t see a woman have an orgasm in a non subjected way(Not a violent act).

Some of you need to see the documentary called “This Film is Not Yet Rated”. might open your eyes a bit.

  29. Anne says:

Good lord! People are just so prudish. I say, if you have a body like that, and the photos are done in a tasteful way, then go for it! None of you can do what she does or come nearly close to being as beautiful. She’s gonna look back when she’s 70 and think, wow, I was hot.

A lot of models and actresses do nudity. As long as it’s tasteful, then its fine. Geez.

  30. Gaby says:

Alright everyone needs to chill out! Ashley decided to do this, can I mention that she got to go to paradise for this shoot. When I first saw the pictures from this shoot, and actually this video, I thought that she was wearing a bathing suit, that was just skin tight. In my opinion this is not the same as being naked, in fact I think it’s pretty much like posing in lingerie. Also, most of the publicity this is getting comes from WOMEN who pay attention to the Twilight news and actors. Ashley is a grownup and can make her own decisions, it really shouldn’t matter to any of us what the f she does…so leave her alone. God and you wonder why Rob and Kristen can’t be left alone?
