I haven’t read all the posts. As I’ve said before, I’m thankful to Stephenie for sharing her Twilight universe with us. She didn’t have to do that and it’s brought joy to many of our lives.

The Host was wonderful and I’m excited for the movie and any sequels Steph wants to write.

We probably can’t begin to understand how overwhelming all this is. I can only imagine the pressure of being forced to meet deadlines rather than writing or working on a project at your own leisure. I only hope the attention (positive or negative) doesn’t scare Stephenie away from sharing her work with those of us who love her.

I’d be thrilled for Midnight Sun or any Twilight sequels or spin offs to be offered. But I’d like those to be something Stephenie enjoyed doing, not something she felt forced to do.

I’m excited for and will be ever so grateful to Stephenie for inviting us into any other universe she has in her incredible mind.

I can’t wait to lose myself in another one of her worlds.

I agree with Kali. It would be awesome to read the rest of the story from Edward’s perspective. I hope she does come back to M.S.

I’m okay if she doesn’t write another book to continue the series. I think it ended perfectly.

I thought the Host was just O.K. It was a nice story (very hard to get into the first few chapters) but I don’t really care to read any sequels to it.

Well, I can kinda see where Stephenie’s coming from because, like, I wrote a 200 page book last summer, and I had my friend read it, and after she read it and wanted more, it just didn’t seem as personal anymore…but, I’m still trying to get more of the second one done

Jessica, it wasn’t just you, I think everyone felt ripped. I believe I would rather have seen her on Ellen if she was only going to do one. Oprah didn’t even seem interested.

I was bummed out that Oprah herself didn’t interview her more, but that’s Oprah for you. The only reason why I was even interested in watching the show was because Stephenie was on. I hope she will get back and write about vampires soon, but I understand. Frankly, I don’t care what she writes as long as she writes something. I loved the Host and I am glad she is going to continue writing about Wanda, Melenie, and Jared.

I don’t think the Twilight series is Oprah’s type of book. She would’ve asked Stephenie for an interview before Twilight (the movie) started if she loved them like we do.

Oprah’s book choices alway deals with struggles and real life drama. While the Twilight series touches on that from a teen’s POV and angst, it’s also fantasy because of the vampires/werewolves.

I don’t think Oprah is into paranormal, fantasy or sci-fi type of books. Otherwise she would’ve been prepared with more interesting questions. She also never interviewed J.K Rowling (at least not to my knowledge). And both Stephenie and J.K. Rowling are successful female authors that brought the love of reading back to kids and teens.

i thought she said she *didn’t* want to write the story beyond Breaking Dawn? that she was done with that story? so why should we be pushing her to write more for twilight if she *wants* to write the Host instead??

kaylie, Even SM admits that Edward’s story is more dynamic and interesting than Bella’s. He’s such a complex character with a wide range of issues that affect everything he thinks and does!

Bella’s character is really superficial compared to his. Sorry…I think 99% of fans would agree with me. I write fanfics from Edward’s POV and the depth to which you can take his character is astounding.
