Peter Murphy With Eclipse Cameo

MTV is reporting that,

“”[When I was young], I was a huge fan of a guy who does a cameo in ‘Eclipse,’ a guy named Peter Murphy,” revealed Billy Burke, the veteran actor who plays Bella’s father, Charlie Swan, when he stopped by the MTV studios this week. “He used to be the singer of Bauhaus…He came in for a cameo, and I was wildly excited about that,” marveled Burke, who has his own musical career on the side from his acting. “I saw his name on the call sheet, and I had to give him a call and ask him to have some dinner with me, because I was a huge fan when I was growing up.”

Peter Murphy?! SERIOUSLY? That’s flippin’ incredible.
The lead singer of Bauhaus, who famously did the song ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’, having a cameo in Eclipse is a strange but awesome coincidence. Or maybe no coincidence at all. Maybe someone on the Eclipse production knows a bit about how the renewed interest in vampires starting stirring about the 1980s, and that Bauhaus’ song (the one I mentioned above) played during the opening blood-sucking scene of The Hunger. Or maybe Peter Murphy’s into the Saga, or someone in his family is, like for Michael Sheen.

    Regardless, that is quite WONDERFUL.
