theres alot of reasons why either one shouldn’t be shirtless….miley 1.is with disney and being “sexy” isn’t part of her job. 2. she has billions of extremely young fans who look up to her as a god. 3.she was only 15 years old & believe or not alot of growing happens in those two years.
on the other hand,for taylor it is part of his job with this series. 1.Jacob Black is supposed to be ripped and taylor worked extremely hard to get what he has. 2.tay is 17 years old and he has nothing to hide under that shirt unlike a girl.if he had his pants off with his hands covering himself,then im pretty sure reactions from press would have been different,not as bad as miley’s but different.
and 3.tay hasnt had pictures leak on the internet of him attempting to be sexy or taking his clothes off.

Honestly, I didn’t see the big deal with the Miley “incident.” To me, the pose doesn’t even look remotely sexual. Granted, she’s topless underneath a sheet, I didn’t see the pose or her expression as being an invitation to fantasize. This may seem like it’s going out on the limb and something ridiculous, but whenever I see the image, I think of poverty. The lighting… The pose… I don’t know. Just the darkness and blandness of the tones just make me think of that. :\ However, the stripper pole she had at one of her more recent concerts? No excuse behind that. And Joe Jonas? Seriously? I remember walking passed a poster of him and his brothers at Wal-Mart several months back where he was all BAM sexualized. True, he’s over 18, but he’s still a Disney star. He’s still a “role model.”

But of course there’s a double standard. There’s always going to be a double standard.

Okay so many people say things about this well heres my say the girl is covering herself up with a sheet and looks like she had a really ruff night to anyones point right thats just a bad way to photo someone. now taylor is in the processes of putting his shirt on evan if he has other pics with his shirt off i;d bet money saying he ant covering himself up with a sheet

Although Miley was younger than Taylor at the time of the scandal, I have to say that Hollywood does have a double standard. I’m not a big fan of Miley but when I look at her photo I see something artistic and when I see photos of Taylor shirtless all I see is something that has been done by all the other guys. As an artist I think art is something that evokes criticism whether it be good or bad. I think it’s unfair to judge Miley harshly when we defend and glorify Taylor for his nice body. Also Vanity Fair and Annie Leibovitz are known for photoshoots that show the intimate side of the subject.

Guys are always topless. It’s not weird in our society to see any guy at any age without a shirt. For women, it’s different. Plus the fact that Miley is a Disney star with young girls looking up to her. Plus, the Vanity Fair picture wasn’t the most attractive picture of Miley. She looks sick and unhealthy and unbelievable pale. I think I can speak for everyone by saying Taylor looks amazing in his pictures. Plus he’s closer to the legal age. Miley was only 15, which is really young. But that’s just what I think.

I think there is a difference. Taylor is a male, and as someone has pointed out, guys hang around topless all the time. Why does an idiotic question always has to be raised for publicity and attention? It really gets on my nerves.

No double standard. First of all, Taylor is clothed. His shirt may be unbuttoned or off but he is still wearing pants. He is not attempting to portray someone who just had sex. Miley appears to be naked and the pose alludes to a sexual content.
