Extended Jacob’s Transformation Clip

Posted by Twilight_News - 21/10/09 at 09:10 am

The official name is Jacob’s transformation, but we like to think of it as the Jacob and Paul transformation. This was just put up on the Summit Channel.

This is the same length as the one before, but it’s nice to know that Summit put up a clip with great quality.

Love the wolf transformations. Instead of a slow, painful transformation, they kept true to the book by having them quickly transform.

  • MRK says:

YAY! Perfection as far as Im concerned!

  • Sia says:

Wow this movie looks really good !

  • Sara says:

Yes, it’s awesome but by now we have already seen ALL the movie, they shouldn’t release any other video, I personnaly am not as excited as before about the movie, there is no suspense left…

    • Laura says:

What suspense were you looking for anyway Sara? You already read the book right? What suspense was there in the first place? I am dieing to see the movie and I still think it will be amazing. I can’t wait to see Edward glitter and hope it is better then the first. 29 days to go and counting. We can official say less then a month to go. YEAH!

    • Mel says:

Having read the Companion (because I can’t help myself), I can assure you that there are plenty of reasons to still be excited. They have added lots of new scenes, and they all look amazing!

  • Matt says:

    Sara,

It’s your choice to view these clips. Summit is not forcing you to watch them if that is your decision. If anything, seeing how wonderfully Chris Weitz is doing on New Moon makes me even *more* excited. Releasing a few clips ahead of the film is certainly not unheard of in marketing, particularly if they want to attract some non-Twilight fans.

    • Sara says:

I totally agree with you, the director did a great job, do you blame me if I couln’t resist :) ?

By saying we have seen the whole movie, I didn’t only mean the videos, I also meant the photos. I saw alsmost all the scenes I was anticipating (in videos or on picutres), that’s why I feel that way.

      • Matt says:

I understand, Sara. Technically, we already know what happens in New Moon. As I said before, it’s our choice to view the promotional material that Summit releases. Photographs don’t concern me as much — it’s more exciting to view the scenes in action.

    • Annie says:

I agree. It’s not like you haven’t read the books already anyway. The surprises as far as plot lines are concerned are gone. I don’t care. I saw Twilight 7 times in the theaters still happy everytime even without being surprised.

      • Avery says:

I haven’t watched many of the clips or looked at the pictured because I want the movie to be a complete surprise. The only things I’ve watched are the trailers. The trailers, however, seemed perfect.

  • Matt says:

Furthermore, I did the math: we’ve barely seen ten minutes worth of footage. The movie is slightly over two hours. Please don’t say that we’ve seen most of the movie, because that’s hardly true.

Watch clips at your own risk.

    • Jenny says:

If anything the clips, photos, etc. have made me more excited. I loved Twilight for what it was, even though it missed so much. So it is nice to know in advance that New Moon is even better. There is soooo much we haven’t seen. If you noticed that haven’t really shown us much at all after Volterra, Edward and Bella getting back together, the round table with Cullens over Bella’s mortality, etc. So the glimpses just make me want to read the book again ;-)

    • Jodie says:

A army of wild newborns couldn’t keep me away from the cinema to watch New Moon!

But I do think its time that they eased up on the clips..I know we don’t HAVE to watch them, but its so hard not to.

Edward might of managed to resist Bella’s blood, but I can’t resist these clips and trailers! :)

    • bird says:

seriously!! this is barely just a bit of foreplay!

    • Pamela says:

      Hi Matt,
I totally agree with you & the others who say the clips make them more excited to see the movie. I’ve watched all the clips & seen quite a few pics but I think we should keep in mind that we’re getting these in piecemeal. I know for me, every time a new clip comes out I get increasingly more excited for the movie. My mind begins to wonder about the hows & whats…how they will play out a certain scene, what did they leave in/take out? We’ve only seen a uber-small fraction of the movie w/the clips. Those who feel uncomfortable shouldn’t watch them & just wait for the movie. It’s coming soon anyway & I can’t wait!!!!!!!

    • Pamela says:

Damn, that was soooo good!!! Love the way the wolves transform! I cannot wait to see how that scene plays out!

It just occurred to me how humble Bella must be. If I were Bella, I might just get all full of myself being that a vampire AND a wolf love & care for me so much that they’d be willing to do stuff like that just to protect me.

  • sheila says:

    Fursplode! Love it! Great job!

  • Neesha says:

    this was freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • Rebecca says:

Where was that kind of CG quality when they did the Twilight movie? Love, love, love what Chris has managed to do with the movie so far. Can’t wait to see the entire thing.

    • Matt says:

Not to disrespect Catherine Hardwicke, but I think that Weitz has more experience with CGI than she did. Catherine struck me as much more practical, since Twilight didn’t require as much CGI as New Moon (particularly because of the wolves being introduced). Having an expanded budget for New Moon also helps, I’m sure.

      • Jen says:

There was no money when “Twilight” was being made- one of the reasons I think “New Moon” will outshine its predecessor. It’s not fair to compare directors, because they each have their own style, but the budget difference is a huge deal. If Catherine had Chris’s budget, the first movie would have been a lot different.

  • sheri says:

agree!! and the wolves look bigger than i thought after the first trailer. I can not wait

  • vanity says:

    the wolfs are hotttttt

  • Cathryn says:

    Fluffy no more :D
I may have watched this clip one time too many because I noticed Sam is not looking directly or exactly where Paul’s supposed spot during his transformation but it’s not unforgiveable :)

  • Emma says:

last year they released just as many clips and some got leaked online, and i could not help but watch them. i also thought it would room the movie for me, but it didn’t!

i get more and more excited after seeing every new piece of footage!

  • Laura says:

WOW!!! Whoa, Dude!!! This is freakin’ AWESOME!!!! I’ve got my ticket and I’m ready to go. (I wonder how many times I can get in the theatre to watch it the first weekend!!!) Love it, love it, love it…….

  • Weeball says:

So freakin’ awesome!!! I can’t wait until the release and I am so incredibly happy that they decided to give us in South Africa a midnight release show too instead of having to wait until the 27th!!! :) It’s the best birthday present ever…lol.

  • AliceKikiCullen says:

OME!!! AHHHH!! Thank u summit 4 putting it on Youtube! *happydance* I like seening some scences and footage. Not too much then I get burned out I learned that from my early harry potter days. I catch more of the newest clips and my fave pics then sit on the rest until after the movie so no burn out. Lol. It’s about balance. And like Emma said, though no, there were MORE relased for Twilight then New moon this time around. We had alot more this time last year for Twilight. So they are holding some back this time only showing small slivers of the major scences so we know they are in there. I think. ;P I CAN’T WAIT!!!!! *happy dance again*

  • krystal says:

i really wish they wouldn’t release little things that weren’t in the book, but added on to the movie. Im glad to see victoria is MIA, and they haven’t showed much of her, because id like to be presently suprised. Im kinda mad they are releasing some of the fight scene in volterra, because that is something that wasn’t in the book, and i rather be in the theater jumping like whoaa that was great.

but i do agree summit is releasing to much crap. i enjoy certain clips, like this one, and although i dont want to see anymore, i know i will. i just can’t stay away

    • Matt says:

That’s the thing: they aren’t making you watch these. You need to have restraint, because you’re the one choosing to click the link. I don’t blame them for wanting to advertise in order to attract audiences that wouldn’t normally want to see Twilight.

  • TheInkling says:

yeah, looks MUCH better than the first one. Very pleased!

  • Luthien says:

LOVE IT! geez, I’ve got to try stop watching these film clips, but I just am way too tempted! And such satisfying clips they are too! Love the wolf pack!

  • Adina says:

Everyone is distracted by the CG. I’m annoyed with this clip. Bella shouldn’t punch a wolf until it is Jacob in Eclipse. Also, this scene should be with Jacob by her side. blah. I hope the CG and pretty boys are enough to distract from the bad changes in the story. I don’t have faith in this movie because Chris did Golden Compass and it was horrid. Yes, I know it wasn’t his script and all that jazz. He still directed it. He still helmed the project. Take some responsibility for your screw up. Stop blaming the script. I bet he will do that for New Moon too. I digress. I will see New Moon, however I do not have high hopes for it.

    • Matt says:

You come off as completely mean-spirited. I challenge you to take such a long book and distill it into a movie that has to remain around two hours. Who cares if they change how Bella discovers the wolves, so long as it makes sense within the context of the movie ADAPTATION? They have been as faithful as possible by continually checking things over with Stephenie.

Furthermore, the studio pressured Weitz with The Golden Compass, which I thought was an excellent film anyway. In fact, some of the actors in the film were hired by the studio without the consent of Chris or his team. He has since commented that Summit is more supportive of his vision for New Moon, since the studio behind The Golden Compass was incredibly controlling with respect to his direction.

I’m sorry, but have some respect.

      • Meghan says:

Really?!?!? Seriously, the Golden Compass was amazing. (Sure, it was different from the book…) But the quality of the movie was still great. And he knows the fans loved book so he made it VERY close with the movie. When I found out Chris Weitz was directing the film I was excited becuase I knew the creation of the the movie would be in greats hands. Please don’t compare someone elses previous work to this. Thank you.

    • Matt says:

Oh, and I will admit that Stephenie does tend to write too many unnecessary scenes in her books. It’s challenging to adapt a book, but the priority is remaining true to its SPIRIT. I swear, some Twihards tend to be obsessive when it comes to insignificant changes that work within the context of a film experience and its pacing.

You also reveal a stunning amount of ignorance behind the production of The Golden Compass, considering that the studio was a more pressing issue than the script that they had Chris work with. Have some respect for people that clearly care more about professionalism than you do.

    • Matt says:

“I bet he will do that for New Moon too.”

This pisses me off. Chris Weitz has been nothing but respectful, and he has been CIVIL. It’s no secret that the studio forced him to work with certain actors, and they weren’t supportive of his crew’s vision for the adaptation. You also make an assumption about Weitz that is breathtakingly disrespectful.

Oh, no. They had to change one scene because, believe it or not, this isn’t a ten hour film. Will you moan when they have Bella eat steak in one scene, when it was pizza in the book?

    • Karen says:

Adina, I know its just my opinion but I’m sorry, the script for Twilight was awful. Plus she is the same one doing New Moon. A director can be awesome and is still at the mercy of the script. I believe Chris will do awesome, you can tell from his interviews his heart is with the books. The fact that he kept in touch with Stephenie thru the whole thing speaks volumes for me. I didn’t see The Golden Compass, but he didn’t write it. How were the visuals? Those were his.

    • Terri says:

I get annoyed with people complaining how the movie is not ‘exactly’ as the book. Some things have to be changed slightly. A movie is based on a book not a movie about the book. It’s important that the general concept of the book is maintained and small details don’t matter that much. I think it looks like Chris did a great job from the previews I have seen. I liked Twilight, but even if you did not like it, you have to thank Catherine for what I think is perfect casting. Go Team Edward!!!

      • Kat says:

Hear, hear! Couldn’t agree more, with everything you said. :D

Seriously, when are some people going to realize that if a movie followed the book exactly, it would be a terrible movie? Books do things that movies can’t, and vice versa. Not to mention that the movie would be twelve hours long! I mean, I know some of us would love to stare at Rob for that long, but that’s just not how movies work. Sadly. ;)

I’ve been saying this all along: if Stephenie approves of the changes (and she always does; Summit works with her closely), then we should, too.

    • Kat says:

Okay, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to jump to Chris Weitz’s defense here. Anyone who blames him for Golden Compass hasn’t heard the whole story. The movie studio FORCED him to change it from the book, which he was extremely unhappy about. He’s even said he had a terrible experience filming it, and that he was so grateful to work on New Moon, with a studio that actually wanted to stay true to the books. (Watch the Comic Con Q&A.)

Directors have a certain level of responsibility for the artistic choices of a film, yes. But when the studio tells them to do something? They are under a contract, and they have to listen.

I have absolute faith in Chris. Did you know he forced them to change parts of the NM script, when he felt it wasn’t true enough to the book? He also worked closely with Stephenie. No, this movie won’t be exactly the same as the book (nor should it be), but Chris Weitz worked hard to do justice to New Moon, and I think we should respect him for it. And if we’re pleased with what we see in November, we should be happy and grateful he got the job.

  • Julie T. says:

That was not extended. That is the same one from iTunes that came out yesterday… I got really excited and thought it was longer!

  • Adrian says:

The more I watch all these clips, the more I become a Team Jacob fan. :) )

  • seriouslysirius says:

I think new moon will be awesome, Chris Weitz has an amazing eye. I also like that he is not trying to mimick what Catherine was doing, which I am glad. Twilight was OK but just barely, it could have been so much better.
Anywhoo I look so much forward new moon, keep counting down.
BTW Adina you have to realize that you can´t make the movie exactly the same as the book, for what I´ve seen they stay pretty close to the book. And FYI this is the only clip that has “pretty boys” in it, except for Edward but hey you can´t have the trailer without Eddie!

  • Jessie says:

K awesome scene! but shouldn’t Bella have broken her hand when she hit Paul? I mean really it’s like a classic moment is Eclipse!

  • diana says:

    .

  • Gabi says:

Love it!!!!! Can’t wait to see it; it looks so much better than Twilight!!!!!!

  • Bee says:

Soooooo. This was freakin awesome, but is this how Bella finds out about Jake? I wonder…………

    • Terri says:

That’s what I was wondering. I think it must be how she finds out as her response to Jake does not lead me to think she already knows. We’ll find out soon!!

      • switzgal says:

No it’s not how she finds out about Jake. I watched the new Access Hollywood clip and in that clip, she tells Jacob, “But you’ve killed people Jake.” at the beach. So that’s when she finds out. This scene comes after that when Jake was ready to take Bella to meet the rest of the wolves before going to Emily’s.

  • Sterling Snow says:

OMG, intense. The wolves look a lot like how I pictured them. Hope they keep the coat colors the same as in the books. Less than a month to go :)

  • Ashley says:

That was awesome! But Jacob is supposed to have reddish or rusty brown fur(look at page 243 & 234 in NM). I think that Seth was the sandy colored wolf. sigh, oh well.
I agree with Jessie, that was a classic moment :P I hope this movie isn’t as disappointing as twilight was, but it looks pretty good so far!

  • chris says:

is it just me or was the jacob jump off the porch the same jump where he goes to attack Laurent? That would also explain why the Jake wolf and the Paul wolf look so much different. The Jake wolf CGI for the early trailer was done a while ago. It was good, but….The Paul wolf really is more the size I pictured in Steph’s books. I’m thinking that they have pieced together two different scenes here? -CAB

  • ya. jacob is supposed to have reddish brown fur and he’s also supposed to have dark brown eyes. other than that it looks amazing. GAH! im excited.

  • cristy_702 says:

Omgsh!! I loved the way she slapt him! ha! ;D

  • The Whistler says:

That was the most awkward moment of running/stumbling I have ever seen. Jeez Taylor that sucked.

  • Lissete says:

OMG! This is so exciting! :D
    Paul is GREAT!

  • Kat says:

All the clips that have been released are INCREDIBLE. I can’t wait for the movie to come out! I’ll say it again, Chris Weitz is my hero. The more footage that gets released, the more confident I am that New Moon will be amazing! :D

Also… maybe I’m just imagining it, but Jacob’s fur looks the right color to me. I suppose the red tones could be more dramatic, but they’re still there, aren’t they? Hmm… Well, Paul’s definitely the right color, anyway! :)

  • switzgal says:

OMG That was great. I love the line with Bella saying, “he didn’t want this!” and Paul saying “What did he tell you?” LOVE IT!!! I do wished they kept Jacob next to Bella but I bet they changed it for the dramatic Jacob jump.

  • monica says:

I CAN’T WAIT for the movie. this clip was sweet like every other clip i’ve seen. I also like the part where Paul and bell exchange words. ITS GREAT!!!!

  • safina says:

Wow! This trailer gave me goosebumps! I love the wolf transformations. Chris has done a very good job with New Moon, and I can say that even before watching it. I hope the slap didn’t hurt Alex too much….

  • Debbie says:

This clip looks great. I LOVE the improvements to the transformations. Can’t wait to see the whole movie.

  • vamp1901 says:

deosnt bella already know about the wolves before this happens
