As part of their ongoing Twilight Watch series, Vanity Fair this week has interviewed Ashley Greene:
Your role as Alice Cullen becomes more significant as the series continues. What was your experience filming New Moon?
It was incredible, and I think the timing was right. I’m glad that [my role] wasn’t that big in the first one because I was wide-eyed and nervous. By the second one, I had the time to fully develop this character, and I’m really comfortable with Alice Cullen now. It’s going to be sad to be done with it. I was really excited when I read the script because I had, of course, read the book and you never know how they’re going to translate it, how it’s going to read, and filming it was great. Chris [Weitz, the director] was awesome.
Have you seen the finished film yet?
I got to see it a month ago. I’m really happy … I’m really excited about it. When we saw it, it was completely unfinished. It was one of the first cuts, and it looks really good. The first thing that went through my head was, “Oh my gosh, it’s beautiful!” The way that it’s shot … Javier, our D.P., he did such a beautiful job. We all look really, really good!

Ok, I love Alice in the books and sounds like Ashley does too, makes all the difference. I think (personal opinion) since Stephenie left Alice’s character so mysterious, maybe she will go back and write books on she and Jasper. I mean, she left Alice’s background so sketchy, maybe she could go back and dig deeper into her former life, she does still have a niece out there. I would read it!
You ain’t ever lying:) I’d read any book Stephenie wrote about the Cullens:) Ashley does seem happy to play Alice Cullen in the movies and I’m so happy for her…I can’t wait to see her in Breaking Dawn, because she is the first to show Bella what she looks like as a vampire…and she picks out her clothes….I love Alice and Ashley!
In every interview I have read where the actors have already seen New Moon, they’ve all said it’s a great movie & that they’re so happy with it. I think everyone has touched on the fact that it was filmed beautifully & that Chris did a wonderful job with it. We’ve waited so long for Nov. 20 to come & it’s almost here……..!
Ashley is such an Alice. She’s so sweet and lovely like her character. I’m so excited for New Moon. I’m really eager to see what Chris has in store for us. November just can’t come fast enough.
