Twilight Examiner gives details of the Fantasy TwiLife con from Orlando

The folks over at the Examiner had the chance to catch an interview with Edi Gathegi, Justin Chon, and Gil Birmingham this last weekend when the guys were in Orlando for the Fantasy TwiLife convention.  You can read the entire interview here.

Q: And what kind of motivates you guys to do the conventions as opposed to some of your other colleagues who don’t choose to?
Justin: Um, I think it’s fun, and you get to go somewhere that maybe you haven’t been before. I mean, I haven’t been to Orlando in so long, and I’ve gotten to go to Europe twice. That’s pretty awesome … and meet people who actually want to talk to you.
Edi: You’re like loved as soon as you walk in the door.
Justin: That’s a good feeling.
Gil: Oh, I just love the fans. The fans are the best part of it. Just to have interaction and hear their stories and how involved they are with the series. There’s some fabulous stories I’ve heard and I’m completely touched by it. And from that way, it makes things all really worthwhile.

They also have a great write up about Gil Birmingham’s music as well as a few videos of him performing some of his original music and jamming with the guys from Nova Echo.

  1. this interview was fun to read
these guys are awesome and i cant wait to see that “eric scene” they’re talking about :P

  2. You know what is so special? That they have fun with it yes, but also that they realize this means so much to the fans. I go to my first twi-con in January and its also my first vacation in sooo many years so its pretty special. I love they realize we all have a story… I can’t wait!

  3. i was gonna go but unfortunately i couldnt =/

  4. I like the fact that they really understand us and aren’t completely weirded out by our strange one of a kind devotion for the books.

  5. The guys were great but Eyecon, not so much. Can’t believe they let their three major guests cancel and then didn’t even bother to get any replacements. Not the way to treat fans who spent their money on this (like me)
At the Official Twilight Convention they had similar cancellations and then got replacements.
Be careful which convention you make plans to be at, there is a difference. Eyecon got my money once, they won’t again.
