We finally have firm details on the event in Knoxville that came to light a couple of months ago. This isn’t a full-blown Hollywood premiere, rather it is a charity benefit, something that the theater involved has a long history in doing.

According to organizers:
“Regal has annually presented major-film premieres in Knoxville since 2003 to benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity of Eastern Tennessee, and interest in “New Moon” has been unprecedented…”By far, this is going to be our most successful event,” said Greg Dunn, president and CEO of Regal Entertainment Group, who estimated the benefit screening will raise in excess of $400,000 for Variety, a Regal-founded organization that aids numerous local and area children’s charities.”
There are some very specific details listed here on how you can enter a lottery for two tickets that cost $100 a piece (Remember it’s a high price because the money is going to a children’s hospital). It would seem that the lottery system is in place to prevent scalpers from running wild.
TY to the multiple people who emailed in.

If Scummit sends Kristen and Taylor everywhere without Rob, or if Kristen and Rob are not allowed to do any promotion of New Moon together, I am going to be furious. Scummit knows that’s what the fans want to see and leaving Rob out of the equation makes fans insanely angry. When are they going to give up trying to control the show and give fans what they want — the actors playing the two characters that they read the Twilight series for in the first place — Edward and Bella! I’m ticked off already and the movie is still two months away.
Talk about a let down — Twilight-related promo WITHOUT Rob AND Kristen? There is no Twilight without Edward and Bella. I love Jacob, too, but Twilight is Edward and Bella — even Bella says it in the book — “It’s him. It’s always been him.”
I hate Scummit! Let’s start a Twitter trend for #SummitSucks. Maybe if they hear enough complaining about the lack of Rob and Kristen, they’ll get the idea and actually meet consumer demands — isn’t that what marketing is supposed to be about?
We all know how the story ends for Christ’s sake. #SummitSucks
i really see your point i mean what fan doesnt want that?
but i was thinking the other day about how hard on the actors it will be to be doing eclipse and promoting for new moon at the same time; they seemed to be exhausted after all the twilight promotion imagine they’re going to literally look like zombies for new moon which will really suck…
and even if they were already done with eclipse dont they deserve a little break?
i know it sucks but its not something that we can really blame on them (the actors) but maybe summit
Good lord, it’s about dang time the info was finally release.
And how utterly anti-climactic.
Maybe Rob and Kristen didn’t want to do it. The way some of the fans have been acting, I wouldn’t blame them. If fans attacked me or called me a b*tch I would be less likely to want to do anything that would put me in a situation where it could happen again.
as much as i like all of the books and im really excited about the premier being here and all, im not putting that much emotion to who’s here or not. it doesnt affect my life that much lol…. its a really small charity event, the pinnacle theatre in knoxville is big but not that big. so theres really no point in making a grand premier event this isnt LA or hollywood. and its going it to be mobbed with people anyways so ill just be fine waiting for the midnight showing…
i think the coverage of rob and kristen and all the other actors is extreme already, its not like i cant see them in any magazine and all over the internet and the news. im not missing anything if their faces arent in front of me all together all the time.
i guess at the end of the day, putting hatred and negativity towards something i like so much is unnecessary.
I agree with Savanna,
The way fans act I wouldn’t be surprised if Rob and Kristen were begging for privacy. Their every move is looked at and twisted to mean something more then it usually is. They need privacy or they will end up hating their entire Twilight experience and we don’t want that for them do we? Like someone else said you can find out just about anything on the internet or the every day gossip magazine. I was dissapointed the other night when Rob and Kristen werent sitting out in the VMA crowd but you really can’t blame them. Some of these fans are total loons.
(Remember it’s a high price because the money is going to a children’s hospital)
Used to work for Regal, the Children’s Hospital will be lucky to see half of that $100 ticket.
Alphie, I don’t suppose you’ll be going to this?
